  • Communism was a very real threat. Its fundamental doctrine is "to each person according to his need". This essentially means that regardless of how much effort and work one puts in, one can get whatever one wants and how much one wants.

This concept is unsurprisingly favoured by those who don't intend to do much work. Such are the fundamental evils of such communist doctrine.

  • @happyuk06 You missed out the first part of that. It's "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need". The people who don't intend to do much work are called the idle rich.

  • This looks like Germans already had a grip on the US society shortly after ww2.Such nagging to instigate people one against the other can be very disruptive for the society. It keeps the people busy with idle talk and activities.Causing them to neglect important topics.

At this time Germans were very busy infiltrating the US society. See my 2 videos

"Concealed Messages: The Allies" on German propaganda.

German snitchers were operating till 1942 and immediately after 1945 relaunched their net.

  • Who cares that McCarthy was a Liberal? I certainly don't, so I don't see why people rant over this, when the only reason they demonized him out of office was he came too close to the truth of the communists' spys in our Army. Alger Hiss was connected to all of this as well. He was working with Whittaker Chambers (communist) to help the Russians.

  • @lenachristoffersen McCarthy was NOT a liberal, he wasn't "demonized" he was run out of office with the TRUTH, he NEVER came anywhere CLOSE to truth, and destroyed many good, innocent people including Alger Hiss. Chambers was NOT helping the Russians.

  • GREAT AMERICAN

  • @dman1311974 i beg to differ

  • @dman1311974 Hogwash, he was one of the worst people our nation's ever produced, he used the sickest of lies and cheap attacks to promote his views, and his views were evil and wrong. McCarthyism was directly opposite to the most basic principles upon which our nation was founded. The people listed here were viciously attacked with the most vulgar of lies by this lowlife. This nation was founded on the ideals of freedom of thought, McCarthyism tried to destroy that.

  • @PrisonerNumber9653

No the worst people were those like Lattimore, Service, Vincent etc, all McCarthy targets, who so misled the US government about the realities in China, which facilitated the rise and triumph of Mao and his gang, leading to the mass murder and deliberate starvation of millions of hapless Chinese people under the communist butchers.

  • @dman1311974 you're an idiot. McCarthy = America's Hitler

  • @Shirmanator

Isn't ludicrously comparing McCarthy to Hitler precisely doing what his critics vociferously condemn McCarthy over (usually without knowing what they're talking about)-using grotesque exaggerations and phony comparisons to slander others. Think about it.

  • @zippgun1 He killed innocent people and used fear. think about it. He was a fascist.

  • @zippgun1 It's a vile and preposterous lie to claim that those who CORRECTLY point out that McCarthy quotesquely exaggerated the actions of innocent people AND the "threat" of socialism and Marxism in the US "don't know what they're talking about." McCarthy not only destroyed many innocent lives, he destroyed (on purpose) any hope of freedom of thought in this nation. To have people threatened with jail, deportation, and death for what they THOUGHT is as unAmerican as it gets. McCarthy was scum.

  • @zippgun1 Think about it? You don't WANT people to think about it, you want them to swallow whole the lies of McCarthy and of his sleazy cabal of lowlifes who continue his mission fifty years after it was entirely discredited. McCarthy only slightly less directly killed millions of people, but millions HAVE been killed under this sick trash of the cold war, and nobody is more responsible for it than McCarthy. Without it, no Vietnam, or death squads in Latin America. And maybe REAL war on poverty

  • McCarthy came in my mouth.

  • To be honest I really dont care that they put away a communist. I really wouldnt even care if they killed them on the spot.

  • That fellow interviewing McCarthy, Huie, is no liberal, either. One of his early staffers on a magazine project was William Buckley. The fellow was a conservative at heart and he found McCarthy to be repugnant.

  • This was a time when the USSR had infiltrated the US heavily with spies.

  • What exactly did McCarthy accomplish? Did he ever find anyone who posed a threat to the government?

  • 240p not bad Mccarthy...not badd

  • Closeted homosexuals are scary. McCarthy hauled in closeted gay guys and threatened to out them if they didn't tell him what he wanted. Meanwhile McCarthy was famous in Wisconsin gay circles for being a promiscuous gay man. Politics is so sordid.

  • Notice how biased the liberal media stooges are on the panel in their questions.

The real story from this time period was how many Communist supporters of Joseph Stalin, one of the three most bloodthirsty dictators in the history of mankind, that we had working in the FDR and Truman administrations, not how "rough" McCarthy was. Communists and their liberal "useful idiots" in the media very effectively made McCarthy the story.

  • @RuflessRecords give me an example of liberal bias but i compare mccarthyism as being close to the actions of the nazis and I am not a communist and i know stalin and mao were the most evil killers in history. please don't give this rehtoric from fucking Ann coulter or Glenn beck or fucking Sarah Palin

  • @jonny8908 1 example, MSNBC . com in 2007 investigated all journalists who gave to political causes between 2004 and 2007 and found that of the 143 journalists who contributed money, 125 gave to Democrats or liberal causes, and 16 gave to Republicans or rightwing causes, 2 gave to both. "Journalists Dole Out Cash to Politicians (Quietly)" 6/5/2007.

McCarthyism was nothing like Nazism. First, nearly all the victims were guilty, and none of them even got jail time. Hiss was pre-McCarthy.

  • @RuflessRecords i dont care MSNBC as well. I think Fox news and MSNBC feed off each others publicity. no matter how many times they mention their station they get a lot of viewers. Plus i would like you to look up Noam Chomsky and the myth of the liberal media.

  • @jonny8908 first, the media today is fairer than its been in a long time, ABC and CNN are both pretty fair.

2nd, the media isn't liberal...to Noam Chomsky. This is mainly because Noam Chomsky is the Joseph Goebbels of Communism and has made a career out of defending Communist mass murder and lying and smearing the United States. He has the Marxist disease of explaining all actions of capitalist countries through financial conspiracy theories and is basically a sophomoric, unclever liar.

  • @RuflessRecords how can you compare him to joesph goebbels. goebbels was an evil man. chomsky is a marxist but he did not support the stalin, lenin or mao. finally i would like to know if this " war on terror" is actually another fucking excuse to fight another enemy just like in the cold war were the USA needs to fight another enemy

  • @jonny8908 In the 70's, Chomsky on Mao's China: "Also relevant is the history of collectivization in China, which, as compared with the Soviet Union, shows a much higher reliance on persuasion and mutual aid than on force and terror, and appears to have been more successful", American Power and the New Mandarins, new edition, p137.

Chomsky's willing to throw overboard past regimes that don't matter anymore, but while they are still butchering, he defends them, Mao, Pol Pot, etc;.

  • @jonny8908 sorry it took so long and i respect your opinion but i believe he was talking about how their economy started booming with the collectivisation processes such as stalins which made russia the world power it was. but i do disagree that china and cambodia became backward countries during both of those reigns. it was only after the reign of mao that china began to witness some economic prosperity

  • Do you know when this was aired??

  • This guy was an idiot.

  • He was already losing his hair. He died pretty soon after this.

  • @mikline Strontium-90.

  • @mikline

Stress! McCarthy was subjected to relentless attacks from the media and politicians throughout his 4 years in the spotlight. He was the victim of far more unjust lying came from his enemies than he doled out to others. He was "gay baited" by the supposed liberals of his time too-though there's no objective evidence he was gay. Aside from communism, which he correctly saw as a deadly threat, his views were pretty "liberal".

  • @zippgun1 More incredible LIES. He was NOT attacked by the media, a FEW in the media finally had the guts to tell the truth about him after fawning for years. There was ZERO unjust lying about him, and to claim there was more than he doled out is to not even ATTEMPT honesty. I don't give a shit if he was gay or not. His views were absolutely NOT liberal, and there was never ANYTHING remotely "deadly" about Communism. His red-baiting lies WERE deadly.

  • @zippgun1 You act as if being accused of being homosexual (which, admittedly, at the time was a much worse fate than it is today) was on par with being accused of being a communist. It wasn't. Questioning someone's sexuality would have, at the time, worst case scenario, ruined a political career, whereas, on rare occasion, suspected communists would be put to death for treason (rarely of course). Being accused of homosexuality was nowhere close to as bad as being accused of communism.

  • Joseph McCarthy = son of a bitch

  • McCarthy was an American Hero driven to his grave by the radical left and their friends in the mainstream media. He was a fighter and he was fighting for right. Communism is as un-American as it gets. Communism is atheism applied to the political landscape, pure and simple. They are evil. We need another McCarthy today and fast. Everyone McCarthy accused of being communists or communist sympathizers were exactly that!

  • @RSapper21 Well said. One of the last few heros with the guts to stand up and call it for what it is.

  • "In April 1954, Senator McCarthy turned his attention to “exposing” the supposed communist infiltration of the armed services.. Then came the fatal blow: the decision to broadcast the “Army-McCarthy” hearings on national television. The American people watched as McCarthy intimidated witnesses and offered evasive responses when questioned. The Army-McCarthy hearings struck many observers as a shameful moment in American politics."

  • What a sick and disturbed person. If he was alive today, they would give him a show on Fox "News."

  • @revbookburn So true. And my local newspaper would run his column....

  • JOHN KENEDY LIKE ABRAHAMN LICOLN WANTED TO RETURN THE RITE TO COIN MONEY BACK TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AND TAKE IT AWAY FROM THE RICHEST FEW THE THIRTEEN FAMILYS OF THE ILLUMINATI OR THE ENLIGHTENED ONES OR FEW....its all there in history gett it why you can????

the comunists were created by the richest familys in the world to destroy the sovrenty of the worlds peoples and nations to bring in there money changers to give you paper and take away your countrys wealth and independance...

  • you idiots don't know shit about mccarthy lol

He WAS trying to save your liberal pathetic ass from this new soviet system were in today. It was later revealed, with no fanfare from the press mind you, that the Venona reports vindicated his judgement. But carry on, sure...a witch hunt is very similar to trying to detect subversive agents, right...

  • @bfess Would you care to elaborate which of the 500-some people that McCarthy "exposed" that were corroborated by the Venona Project?

  • @bjohn131313 some of the amerasia people - John Stewart Service and Lauchlin Currie were two of mccarthy's cases i believe - and they were connected with cases liz bentley already exposed, like Harry Dexter White

  • @pushups2345

Service was not identified in Venona. He was identified by FBI surveillance in 1945, well before McCarthyism took hold.

Currie was identified as working with Soviet Agents during World War II, when the Soviet Union was an ally. His guilt is debatable.

  • @bjohn131313 i have currie's cover name as "page", is that what you have?

i believe the reason mccarthy's problem with the currie case was that the guy was actively working to undermine chiang kai shek, and yet was still holding a high government position - which i think we can both agree is a problem

  • @pushups2345 You might be right, but McCarthy's reaction against people like Currie and George Marshall was overzealous. But what really gets me are the people who think that the Venona project somehow justifies McCarthy's actions. There were 500 some people that McCarthy publicly ostracized. Nine of them were incriminated by Venona. In 1950, you could have randomly picked any 500 people in the state department and gotten 9 that were sympathetic to the Soviet cause.

  • @bfess

    right on

  • @bfess the whole disgraceful McCarthy affair WAS a proper witch-hunt, and if you fail to see it I certainly mourn your intellectual handicap and hope there`s someone who can help you button-up your shit,a s i seriosuly doubt you are capable of that..unless your handicap is MORAL, in which case there is nothign to be done..

  • @nataliiiaf The post WWII era was replete with Soviet efforts against us. The Rosenburgs met their just fate. Alger Hiss' guilt was corroborated from KGB files.

McCarthy did his patriotic best at the beginning to cleanse these traitors from our midst. His ego got to him in the latter stage of his investigations, but that doesn't negate his earlier success at exposing treason.

If you take issue with that, the moral handicap is yours.

  • @MrStrictlyStock there is no morality in accusing people without proof and putting hundreds of innocent people through hell. OFCOURSE spies and traitor need to be identified, but it had to be done NOT by McCarthy with his monkey brain and critical thinking skills of a 2-year old, but by someone intelligient enough not to turn the process into a witch hunt...i egree with Oscar Wilde that stupidity is among the biggest sins, so don`t YOU talk morals to me:P

  • @nataliiiaf Firstly, I'll talk any damn thing I want to you.

Secondly, your situational ethics are showing when you rag on use bfess about morals, but can't handle the same when it's directed to you.

Give a short list of the "100s of innocent people", or admit you're full of bullshit.

Your hyperbole regarding McCarthy is indeed the stupidity Wilde was referring to.

  • @MrStrictlyStock it's funny, because morals, and culture and pretty much everything else, were PRECISELY what various propaganda agents spread throughout industry were gradually changing...we are living in the final stage or stages of scientific socialism, where technology will be implemented to make it impossible to have privacy of any kind, with our only purpose being to produce and consume...but now it's more produce, and consume little. These gullible liberal fools don't know the real world

  • McCarthy was actually very intelligent as his academic abilities, for example show. He was a judge at a very young age. McCarthy entered the communist issue BECAUSE it wasn't being properly addressed at all by those who should have been doing it-especially the government loyalty boards. Key agencies of the government were riddled with Soviet agents and sympathizers. It was largely thanks to McCarthy and a few others like Senator Jenner, that the situation improved.

  • @zippgun1 IF he was intelligent, it only serves to make his evil actions more inexcusable. The "communist issue" WAS properly addressed by having people THINK FOR THEMSELVES. The idea of "government loyalty boards" is a slap in the face to the founding principles of this nation, is vomiting upon the idea of freedom. He didn't give a SHIT about loyalty to this nation, he cared only about loyalty to conservatism and capitalism. He defended greed, not freedom.

  • @zippgun1 The claims of "riddled with Soviet agents" are PROVEN lies, and calling those who saw the destruction of capitalism and had decency towards other human beings enough to see the merits of socialism "Soviet sympathizers" is an intentional and despicable lie.

The situation was NOT improved. Our nation is far, far, FAR worse off because of these low-lifes. We continue to see both major parties lurch to the right, as 46 million Americans suffer in preventable poverty.

  • Who the FUCK would WANT to watch this shit

  • Comment removed

  • @gtaIV7 People interested in the history of the United States.

  • I so agree with SoldierUSArmy.Joseph McCarthy was just trying to control America and not to mention he would make accusations about other people in office without proper evidence that some of those people were actual communist. And the "lee list" he made up he should have been on that because he was a gambler an a alcoholic himself and i wouldnt be suprised if he had done marriage infidelity.Personally i just think he was a dictator.

  • @Arriiaannaa Thank you so much for your comment as Joseph McCarthy wanted America to be Oceannia in the book 1984.

  • what date is this from?

  • The Speaker of the House, Joseph Martin was McCarthy's best friend and then Senator John F. Kennedy was Senator Joseph McCarthy's worst emeny. in fact the most un-american person in history was Senator Joseph McCarthy.

  • @SoldierUSArmy

    How?

  • @WarVideo Then US Senator John F. Kennedy was of the opposite political party of U.S. Senator Joseph McCarthy in the 1950's and Joseph McCarthy's best friend in US Congress was then House Speaker Joseph Martin, the highest Roman Catholic who was ever in the US Government ,who wanted the death penalty for the crime of violating the 1954 Communist Control Act which Joseph Martin wrote and Joseph McCarthy wanted!!!

  • @SoldierUSArmy Did your feeble mind ever consider that elected officials from different parties could collaborate on issues of mutual agreement?

  • @SoldierUSArmy hey, I`m sorry these fear-reddien , narrow-sighted racisst excuses for human beings lashed out on you:(( don`t even waste your breath convincig them, they are basically fanatic and it`s not like they`re capable of understanding about versitility and tolerance..sad but true:(

  • @nataliiiaf i actually find yours and MrStrictlyStock's comments pretty entertaining, what with the condescending jabs and all lol. Yes, I do try to live moral to a degree, whatever that means to you, but the issue is not one of morals but one of a belligerent, blunt, stubborn man probably trying to take on more than he originally thought, you know, like finding out subversives were actually LET into power, as opposed to sneaking in. He bit off more than he could chew and it took a tollon him

  • @SoldierUSArmy

I thought JFK was a great friend of McCarthy. In fact the whole Kennedy family loved McCarthy.

  • @93rardo Those who claim the Kennedy family and Joe McCarthy were enemies are either liars or ignorant of the history. The Kennedy family detested Harry Truman detested one another. McCarthy was a thorn in the side of the Truman administration. McCarthy exposed the collectivist rats in the Truman admin, many were left over from that pinko Roosevelt's administration. Ed Murrow that brought about the end of McCarthy, as president JFK named Murrow head of the USIA. Gotta love Kennedy loyalty huh?

  • @SoldierUSArmy hahah well if communism is now considered American I guess you stand correctly. JFK was banning the Federal Reserve, the corporation that no one looks at.

  • @SoldierUSArmy check your facts McCarthy & the Kennedys. Joseph McCarthy is godfather of Kathleen Kennedy, Robert Kennedy's daughter. Catholics loved McCarthy, the Kennedys were devout Catholics. JFK said he could not say a word against McCarthy without angering his constituency as a senator of Mass. JFK was the only Democrat absent when McCarthy was sensored. RFK attended his funeral. The Kennedys hated Harry Truman, a feeling that was mutual. McCarthy was the greatest thorn in Truman's side.

  • @BradNC11175 You seem to have overwhelmed poor ol' SoldierUSArmy with research and facts.

Leave us hope the rest of the US Army is not as mentally challenged.

  • @MrStrictlyStock To be quite honest I wouldn't have beleived that the Kennedys and McCarthy were "on the same team" and so buddy buddy had I not read that for myself. I would have made the assumption that anyone within the Dumbocrats past or present would have been mortal enemies with McCarthy. For the most part that was true in McCarthy's day but the acception was the Kennedys. I guess that's yet another reminder of how the root word of assumption is ASS.

  • @BradNC11175

JFK remained an anti communist, but he was a realist. At times of peril you may have to deal even with the communist Devil for the greater good.

Though not without fault, McCarthy was a good man and correct about communists and fellow travelers presenting a threat which had not been addressed properly by those who should have. The loss of China to Mao's mass killers owes a lot to the machinations of pro communists within the US government, especially in the State Dept.

  • @zippgun1 It seems the Kennedys in many ways used McCarthy to their advantage when needed then left him to his fate when he was no longer of benefit. Study of the rise & fall of McCarthy will indicate that yes indeed the Kennedys and McCarthy were close allies but it was Edward Murrow who ultimately brought McCarthy down. Ed Murrow would later become President Kennedy's director of the USIA. The Kennedy clan's political gamesmanship was as impressive as their lack of loyalty to allies.

  • @zippgun1 JFK's anti-communism wasn't remotely "realism", and DID fade toward the end of his life, quite possibly why he was killed. Communism isn't the devil, fascism as represented by McCarthy was. McCarthy was NOT a good man, he was with the possible exceptions of Hoover and Reagan and Ayn Rand among the WORST people our nation's ever produced. There was no "threat" from "fellow travelers", the mass killings had NOTHING to do with Marxism, your imagined state dept "communists" killed NOBODY.

  • @SoldierUSArmy Jack Kennedy was an enemy of McCarthy?

Either you are totally incapable of even the most basic of research, or you are just plain fulla shit.

And where do you put Aaron Burr on your "list" of un-Americans?

  • @SoldierUSArmy

Far from being his worst enemy, Jack Kennedy was his friend-the Kennedy family were very close to Sen McCarthy. Bobby worked for Joe and admired him a lot.

  • @zippgun1 In his early days, unfortunately. He moved far away from McCarthy and realized how dreadfully wrong he was. That he was also a victim of a very similar scumbag in JE Hoover is very telling, Bobby should have had the guts to stand up to both of them far, far earlier.

  • I fear it's returning.

  • @Beatnikzombie it is:((( just look at all these moronic zombies commeniting here about how McCarthy was a hero, and how we have to eliminate all the muslims..and communists..and whoever is not a conservative christian..and whoever is capable of versitile thinking..

  • when did this interview occur?

  • "Connecticut's mental midget"...haha

  • Yeah, The Daily Worker coined it. My ass they did. Fuck you McCarthy!

  • The did coin it you, ass hole. Conneris awesome sucks. He should do us all a favor and die.
