@lutralutra78 They're safe from predators, get free food, unlimited access to a doctor. Their only responsibility is to put on a show every so often, and they don't even have to do it to get the care that they do. Sounds like a much easier life than they have in the wild if you ask me.

@TipYourMedic Wow, you're so stupid. Sea lions have managed to survive in the wild without us for a long long time. These are not household pets, these are wild animals. Saying that they are safer in captivity is like saying humans are safer in prison. I would much prefer too be free. Please do not kid yourself, these animals are so much more better off in the wild. They enjoy fending for themselves, these animals are independant, they should be in the wild which is what nature intended for them

Most sea lions in shows are male, therefore they are larger and have more "weight". These are female, and therefore smaller and more slender. From the quality of the video its really impossible to tell if the sea lions are truly thin or not, but chances are they are very healthy weights. If you're comparing to shows such as Sea World, these will appear much thinner as they are females, not males.
