@angrybird3378 Je ne sais pas... Some of the related videos aren't related, and eventually you end up in the weird part of youtube, in other words, right here :P
I wonder what kind of smart brains the engineers who designed this toilet only THOUGHT they had. I can only hope that this toilet wasn't designed and manufactured in America. It looks like a washdown toilet, which would get it banned by our plumbing codes. The low amount of water coverage in the toilet bowl would also get that toilet rightfully banned as well. Here's my advice: RIP OUT THAT TOILET, PUT IN A "TRUE TOILET" AND CUT YOUR FINANCIAL LOSSES ON THAT PIECE OF JUNK!
It's a water saver. Mine's exactly the same. Bought it from Reece, complained afterwards and was told they're all designed to use less than 15L in a flush so you have to use the full flush to get the toilet paper down when using it. I still have to flush twice sometimes. Drove me bonkers for a while but I've gotten used to it now.
I have pressure-assist toilets in my home with a 4litres/~1gallon flush. These toilets work 10 times better than my previous 13 litre/~3 gallon gravity fed toilets.
@pantface1 Most plumbers around here in Virginia advise against buying American Standard as they are one of the most prone to blockages. They recommend Kohler as being better than American Standard. Especially with the new 1.2gpf regulation.
What angers me is the whole saving water "save the earth" thing. Factories being FORCED to make all shower heads, etc restrict water usage. If we want to use 5 gallons to flush so what, we are paying for the water. Now it seems we usually have to flush a "save the earth" toilet twice to do the job an old "wasteful" toilet did with one flush.
I don't think they save water when they're designed for style, then in result you need to flush many times. :P I've seen water saving toilets that work a treat.
Yup. But that's an older Ideal Standard by the looks of it.
Doesn't make a difference in the flushing mechanism much, it's mainly the design of the bowl. I could stick a dual flush on this and it'd still be the same, just you have half a flush or a full flush. But yeah, again there are some good dual flush ones
I'm watching Happy tree friends.... How the #@#% did I get here?!

Looks like you would have to have a bucket of water next to the toilet bowl, to force a better flush.

@MyNathanking We usually only have washdown toilets here, syphonic onces are pretty rare :P. And no, this isn't in the US...

@ShineNSta I don't really think it does save water to be honest, I have flush it twice a lot of the time...

Looks like there's not enough water coming down, or the valve thingy doesn't open good enough.

@gyroplanefdk Yup.

just has horrible symphonic action... go buy an american standard or toto
pantface1 1 year ago
@pantface1 that's because it isn't syphonic and American standards aren't sold here and neither are totos. It's still a crap toilet though.

Is this pile of rubbish still doing this? Raise the water level up until overflow point then try the tissue flush?
ramdomness453 1 year ago
@ramdomness453 OK, thanks LOL.

If I moved in to a house and that was there, I'd have it ripped out hehehehe just because of that flush!
Mikeyb85 1 year ago
@Mikeyb85 I know, it's awful!
04smallmj 1 year ago
Well. These new fangled posh designed toilets are usually rubbish at flushing... A bit like that AKA By Nahm toilet, that one's worse than this! :o
I'd much rather a nice standard toilet with a nice noisy powerful flush.
ramdomness453 2 years ago
It's because they're water saving. A toilet like the ideal standard one is fine, ideal, should I say, lol.

I find the toilets with dual/single flush quite good as well.
