The trance-inducing repetition of good riffs is the key to Beherit's success in the underground... this is one of the greater songs on the album just because it uses modern recording technology to bring out that darkness... it's not a perfect album mind you, some of the songs may seem a bit too complex, but may also get another generation interested in the dark ritualistic monotone of Beherit.

the best year was `91. i went to the metal-music store... and saw the first album of beherit,the oath of blackblood.i never heard this band before

This feels like a modern interpretation of Bathory, instead of a rip-off like other bands. I love this song because it uses simple organized death metal riffs but still has a trance-like darkness.

I haven't liked Beherit's old stuff very much, to my ear, it's too simple and sounds a bit boring.. And the vocals weren't very good back then.. Then in my eyes came a album review of Beherit's album Engram and there it was only written: "kuraa = ei toimi" (translate: garbage=not working).. But I wanted to test this album that is this better or worse than old stuff and this stuff sounded much better, what I've heard from older albums.. This is more furious and less repeative, I think. Not bad!
