  • Was the death due to too much water movement?....

  • @Corissakay No, an infection.

  • they like to think alot

  • the only fish that has feather and arms

  • Umm the book im reading says that umm they are deadly..

  • @dalmatian234 The book you're reading is written by morons then, I recommend burning it.

  • What is it? like some kind of aquatic salamander? its cute

  • @Umbreonluvr61391 The title says what it is. :)

  • Dude, i think hes dead... -___-

  • @NikeLY6 Dude, i think you're retarded... -____-

  • when i read the description in this vid i loled so hard lol

  • Adorable :)

  • a non-stop farting beast :D

  • I hadn't heard of an Axolotl until I read the excellent book, "The ancestor's tale " by Richard Dawkins. In the chapter 'Axolotl's tale' he explains more about neoteny or progenesis, the evolutionary consequence of which is called paedomorphosis. The axolotl is just an extreme among salamanders. Many species seem to be , to some extent, paedomorphic, others do other heterochronically interesting things. Axolotls treated with thyroxine lose their gills and become dry land salamanders.

  • @zytigon They also usually die after treatment, it severely cuts their life expectancy.

  • @wolfie83 Thanks, I didn't know about that. Do you know what sort of lungs they get when treated with thyroxine ? Is it just like the gills are inside, a bit like fish?

  • @zytigon No idea, I'm content with axolotls as they are without interfering.

  • If I want to get one of these can I hold them like mice because they are amphibians...

  • @BurstAngelJo99 no because they are no amphibians, they are a larval state fish so they have to stay in water...if you want a pet to cuddle stick with mice, Axolotl will in time be able to sit in your hand in the water but bring them too close to the top of the water and in my experience they will panic.

  • whats with his eyes?

  • axolotls are from mexico and are going extinct

  • @mzblaqface They might go extinct in the wild but domestically owned axies are thriving...a friends aquarium he sells 10 - 20 a week that he breeds himself (they are trying to preserve the wild population).

  • @mzblaqface No wonder it's all lazy lying at the bottom doing nothing.

  • Celui la il est pas mignon!

  • @Yushired They're cute as a button.

  • where does one get an axolotl?

  • @bobcat6701 Any good aquarium, even if they don't have stock their supplier will be able to get them.

  • axolots are from Japan, right? or is it somewhere else?

  • @left4newbz mexico.

  • @wolfie83 wow! i was way off...

  • is it illegal to own a domesticate axolotl in California? please help any answer would be fine ! :)

  • @puppylover4everful They're legal anywhere in the US.

  • @wolfie83 what if thee not wild?

  • @puppylover4everful axolotls as pets are never wild, usually bred from a genus brought back from mexico a long time ago for scientific studies. Wild axolotl are protected and endangered species.

  • @puppylover4everful Yeah, sorry!

  • too bad theyr illegal in america

  • @MelAndLayna9998 No they're not, stop spreading misinformation! it is illegal to import/export without permits but their are thousands of breeders in the US who supply pet stores. Do your research.

  • @MelAndLayna9998 Actually, they're only illegal in California and New Jersey in the U.S.!

  • it's an alien, and when it's grow up, you screwed !

  • it's farting

  • OMG You're watching Children of Men!! hahaha my all time favourite film!

  • i might soon get one thwy r so CUTE!

  • Is that Children of Men playing in the background?

  • @quintopia yes

  • @wellhungheart no he doesnt...way to be mellow dramatic lol

  • OMG, so cuteeeeeee :))))) Too bad we don't have in my country :(((((

  • @BabyJane4444 there are breeders in Europe, most of which can ship...you could probably get one, but who knows how much the shipping will cost.

  • its a pinck baddass bastard theri eat any fish in your acuarium xD i love it

  • if they are so common as pets why are they endangered

  • @NaturalWorldWiki Because of the morons south of the border polluting their last natural habitat...they are extremely common as pets because they are bred for pets and labs in the thousands each month, it is illegal to take a wild axolotl and keep it as a pet and wild axolotl look nothing like this unless you have one of the wild type breeds.

True wild axolotl do not produce any color mutations.

Do your research, there are many sites that address this.

  • @NaturalWorldWiki In captivity, they are fairly common. But in the wild, due to pollution and deforestation, they are endangered.

  • @darthdog1997 like fish. fully aquatic

  • They should start breeding these guys for pets

  • @Norwayflex89 Uhhhh...they do, they are insanely common pets.

  • i really really want one of these things i live in california ive looked into a lot of animals and most of them have turned out to be illiegal......do you know what there legal terms are here and if so would pet co have them?

  • @snugglepuggle101 they are not illegal at all, any pet store worth a grain of salt should have them.

  • They Just Got Only One In The PET STORE Yesterday. ITS CUTE! I MIGHT BE GETTING IT. If Its A Girl Im Naming It Sophie.

  • even sitting motionless for 41 seconds is cute with an Axolotl

  • *raises hand* Ummm, can you use regular water in the tank? Thank yoooou :'D

  • Axolotl arent as icky and creepy looking as frogs right. Im sorry but I hate frogs. They give me the creeps with their slimy body and their weird looking eyes... uuuggghhh.

  • Can you raise these at home? I wonder how you take care of them.... They are the cutest things EVER

  • @Sunny8102 this is at home, millions own them...they are not uncommon.

  • @wolfie83 But do they have to live in salt water? Or a specific tank, or water? Or something? Im very curious, I want one :D

  • @Sunny8102 type "axolotl" in google...it is rich in information.

  • Where did you buy it? I want one so badly!

  • @carstopguy they are sold everywhere.

  • @darthdog1997: I actually looked these things up recently (I want one :D). You CAN handle them, but it is suggested that you not unlless absolutely, as their skin is very sensitive.

  • how big of a tank?

  • @xlxUndeadBunniesxlx 2' x 11" x 11"

  • I really want one! I don't think you can get on in the USA though. :(

  • @Shadeleaves 2 seconds on google and you'll see they are literally for sale everywhere in the US.

  • @wolfie83 Cool, I googled it and it didn't say that. But I'll try again. Thanks.

  • @darthdog1997 actually ... you can handle fishies :D

but if you really want to handle an axolotl, you must evolve him (it's true)

  • @Daxank uh no its not, its not a fucking Pokemon...they can change to full amphibian but it usually kills them.

  • @wolfie83 yeah, i know

Evolved : they live 7 years

Not evolved : They live 14 years

  • @Daxank its not that black and white, in the true amphibian state their can be complications and die not long after the change. That is why most do not advise forcing it (usually pumping them full of various steroids), and naturally occurred rarely happens.

  • @wolfie83 That's a weird and unusefull creature if it cant evenchange from his larval state without dying, it pointeless, just like humanity.

  • @flushnex why? they live perfectly fine lives in larval state and its almost impossible naturally for them to become a full amphibian...the reason any change that you see online is because the owner has pumped them full of specific steroids to cause the change which usually kills them.

Perfectly find pets as they are, you want a full fledged amphibian? buy a tiger salamander or something common like that....but even they can take years to go from larva to a amphibian.

  • beautiful albino, how big us he?

  • TAIL MASSAGE :DD :p

  • How easy are those to keep? I've been considering getting one when I get a little older, but I don't want it to die.

  • where did you get it? and how much was it?

i saw one today at a museum and i think they are very facinating.

  • He was being massaged by bubles.

  • AWWW he's freakin adorable :D

  • I wanna touch it! :D

  • i think hes watching your show.R.I.P. axolotl

  • how do u get one?

  • QUE HERMOSO ESPECIMEN

  • its getting a bubble massage on its privates XDD

  • Beautiful axolotl! I have one and am thinking about getting her a tank-mate, she seems a bit lonely. You may want to slow down the water flow of the filter though because his gills are moving about a lot. My axolotl became ill because the water flow was stressing her out. All I did was stick a plant in the spout of the filter and it helped considerably.

  • He's getting a massage cuz of the bubbles.:)

  • It's so cute. Dangit I want one...I'm gonna have to wait till all my goldfish die; I don't have anywhere else to put one. And, even though it won't take a crap on the floor, I don't think my parents would think an axolotl is very "fab"...I think that's why they call them "wooper looper", so people actually buy them.

  • He looks like his farting...

  • Cute!!!

  • OMFG SOOOO CUTE

  • haha you live in my area P.S. cuteee!!! i got a black on of these today! he is quite tame =] but a lotta work

  • What's with Children of Men in the background?

  • @WombleMan i was watching it when i filmed it, i thought that would be obvious lol

  • Just seemed strange that you'd film your pet and watch a film about a dystopian nightmare at the same time.

  • i love these little guys, i'm really thinking of buying one, they look so awesome, never seen one this big O.O

(and tons of ppl probably already said this, but the resemblance with Wooper[pokémon] is stunning :p)

  • Aw, how cute - is he sitting on the bubbler? xD

  • hay theyre watching children of men!

  • Ooh, its so cute, i like the red "wig" its wearing, oh, i so wanna stroke it gently on the head alittle.

i sure shouldn't do that, lol.

  • lucky australians lol, I live in canada I WANT ONE!!

  • Is he squishy?

  • he loves them bubbles!

    i want one!

    prolly don't have em here

  • ALIEN!

  • haha hes gettin a bubble masage...

  • I have 8 of these.

Ive had two for over a year now. They are cool pets.

I got 6 babies and they live with the older two no problems.

    The feed very well.

The water is between 15-20 degree.

The live on the counter in my kitchen and havent had any problems.

I got the first two from someone i knew and bought the other 6 in Aquapaws in galway (ireland)

    All mine are albino.

One of the older guys has 5 legs!!! Two back and 3 on the front, very cool looking, need to get a new video up soon.

  • Those fish are so adorable. ^.^

  • lol looks like its doing a major fart!!

  • I WANT ONE!

    ASKFDJADS;KLFJ;DSALJ!

    they are SOSO cute! :D

  • wolfie83 i have been studying so that i can get 1 and i dont no where to get one...where did u get urs?

  • In brisbane, australia lol...any decent aquarium should be able to get them, and if your profile is right and youre in santa fe you wont have a problem.

  • try the caudata . org website there is normaly ppl on there selling them nationwide also in england some pet shops sell them, and some if they dont have them in will order them in for you, may be worth a try

  • Wait. Is he already dead in that video? He looks dead... :S

  • are you retarded? no and no...

  • as a matter of fact, yes i am

  • gathered.

  • it this fresh water or salt?

    plz reply

  • fresh...

  • can u put babie axolotls in with the adult 1?

  • i wouldnt, the adult wont let the baby eat

  • axolotls are endangered ive only seen them in books but they are cool

  • only in the wild, in captivity they are far from endangered.

  • wolfie83 please reply i live in england and in summer my temprature in tank reaches 30 and i read a fact file about axolotl and it says they will die above 25 and i am wondering if their is any way to keep him alive and cool?

    PLEASE REPLY

  • i keep mine near an air conditioner and the temp stays around 19 - 22 degC...they wont die straight away in those heats but it will stress them out and their metabolism goes crazy.

  • ice

  • no that sends them into shock and can kill them

  • lol i got myn for $25 aus i got ripped of 12 dollars i love em though =)

  • R.I.P Gabby

  • Still trying to find one. =/ In Oklahoma, USA.

  • OMG I LOVED THESE THINGS SOO CUTE

my mom hates them though lol :]

  • lol he had his bum on the pump. must have enjoyed the sensation

  • yea lol haha my freinds does that but its a strip pump so he has his whole underbody on it lol and he floats from it if my freind turns it on to max lol

  • Hi, I'm gonna guess, with the move if the temperature change is too drastic it shocks the albinos. When i was living in Aus, I had two of them, and with the move to a larger tank, the flow was too strong, the temp a little too warm and the albino just got TB (very prone to TB in Australia) and died. the other lived fine. I also find they love love love those baby electric yellows and in Aus, it gives them a huge growth burst. :-)

  • Very cute little guy. RIP.

    Yay Children of Men!

  • Can you play with these in anyway

or are they almost like fishes

    just more cool

    and grow new heads

and if ones dead they take its legs and attatch them to themself and end up with 6 legs

    these are so cool :)

  • I have another one and he is quite playful when begging for his food, you have to hand feed from a VERY young age to get them taking food from your hand...mine has a routine of swimming to the top of the tank when he wants food then i have him chase his food around the tank.

  • wow. I bet you live in mexico or san diego.

    how much did he/she/it cost

  • uh you might want to google 'axolotl' because you can get them anywhere in the world just about...in mexico it is illegal to remove them from their habitat because they are endangered.

    Cost like $17 australian...

  • is it dead ?

    :( it looks quite scary

but it is a well cool fish

  • yeah he died.

  • @iLoveTheCheese11 ITS NOT A FISH! It is an amphibian. It is a type of salamander that stays in larval form for life.

  • is the fish DEAD?!

  • unfortunately, lived for like 4 years...

  • they should usually live for 15 years

  • ive just done an accurate measurement the lengs of it is 23inch width 25cm height 1ft 2inch and my axolotl is about 20cm long. so is it still to small for 2?

  • should be ok for one, just have a place for him/her to hide to avoid stress and if running filtration plan it so there is minimal water flow...if no filtration just keep up weekly water changes.

  • my tank is 1foot 10inc long and 1 foot high and a foot wide is that ok for 2 adults?

  • no.

  • is a 50 litre tank ok for 2 axolotls?

  • i would say so, depending on the dimensions...this video is pretty old and the axolotl died when i had to move (which sucks) but i had a black one in with him in a 2 footer and he just ate everything and stressed the other one out.

I did read 2 older ones get on better then youngins, the young ones tend to be quite snappy (i have a 9 month old and he snaps at anything that goes in the tank).

  • What's the fun about keeping an endangered species?

  • before getting on your high horse every axolotl owned today is decended from the same genetic lines taken from there a long time ago...now you can just blame the stupid mexicans polluting the crap out of there country, so yeah.

  • you were watching chridlen of men. haha

  • looks like he's doin super farts!

  • mine dose exactly like yours does nothing and there is 2 black moore goldfish in my tank do you think thats effecting him?

  • I want one. >:U

  • We have one in our science class, it bit me :(

  • I really love axolotls, I think they're so cute! What size tank do you keep them in? I've heard it has to be 15 - 20 gallons because they can grow quite big. I really want to get them, are they easy to look after?

  • Are they easy to keep?

  • not in australia, i have difficulty maintaining a consistant water temperature. But once you can do that its pretty simple...

  • i keep two, they are pretty easy to keep. I have them with my catfish, sharks and chichlids.

well, they ate 4 kuhli loaches and 5 guppies but id rather have a healthy cool pet than loads of boring ones :)

dont put them with small fish, remember that they grow to about 30cm in length.

  • very easy i have them to

  • Feels good man.

  • This might be the coolest pet ever

  • So chilled man.

  • i luv alotoolotlotlottloxoxolxllotlolot or

    wutever

  • i like it with hot chili sauce, sweet and sour, with a little sprinkle of soy sauce uhhm yummy...!

  • getting a Orgasam from the bubbles

  • lol looks like a penis

  • I love how you hear Children of Men in the background

  • haha he seems to like those bubbles :P lol mine liked to play in them too :P

  • its mudkip!

    i liek mudkipz!
