And the japanese started naming their games Shin Sangoku Musou AFTER the first one. So in US they sticked to calling both the first and the second Dynasty Warriors.
And in japan only the 2nd started out as Shin Sangoku Musou.

They should drop the musou powers and make the battles more realistic like everyone's action on the battlefield affects the outcome of your kingdom's future. Like giving you the option to become a ruthless despot or a hero of the people; just saying the deeper the better
I dont think Koei is going far enough with DWE. So i would like to put forth discussion points 1st BASES. I felt like i was running around like a headless chook from base to base. Instead, incorporate real battle strong points such as bridges, cliff faces, river crossings and gates, and yes the occasional base. I want to capture and defend things that would realy matter in a battle. What do u think? Future discussion points to follow.
@ladytarita I do respect Koei!!! Iv loved there games for years now. My issue is simply in know DWE could be so much more. I would just like to see DWE reach its full potential. Your obviously a passionate Koei fan and i respect you for that, so im sure you have lots of ideas that could improve DWE. @kip4tok hi empires 6 was fun but i dont think it went far enough for a next gen console. i wanted more from it. i did however like DW6. Gundum 2 was greate coz for the many cool mobile suits, all of which had amazing fighting moves. the down side is the maps were very basic and the dialog between charactors was dumb. also forget about playing online coz its impssible to find a game.(no lobby to sign into)

hi . the difference is, in dw6 you follow a story line for each charactor but in dw6E you create your own force and attack and defend territories to concure all of China. DW6E gave me the opportunity to mold my forces my way but didnt go far enough. That said, it is good for a short time not a long time. Played DW6 for 4months but was over DW6E in under 2 months.
you can make your own charactors which is fun but i didnt use them because by the time i had used all the normal charactors i was totaly over the game. yes u can add anyone to your force which does make it more fun eg (Lu Bu with Guan Yu together). you can then give each of your officers individual comands eg attack, defend targets and it is this that makes the game potentaly more fun than DW6. but sadly i dont think it went far enough (for a next gen platform anyway)
iv been a massive fan of DW and DWE for years. I expected it on PS3 to be simpley epic. IT WAS VERY ORDINARY. Koei if there r 2 b any more DW games u must give us much more.Propere vantage points not crapy bases, more control(let me micro manage my force if i want) and finaly ONLINE. Even if it is just co-op to aviod lag ,im happy. It worked in Drakes 2

I have been playing the Dynasty Warriors series almost my entire life. I am getting this game soon because it looks very fun. Mostly of all I liked all Dynasty Warriors games a lot, but I liked the older ones the best. Dynasty Warriors 2,3, and 4 in my opinion would have had to been the funnest for me for PS2.
@xXxJmoneyxXx I agree completely with you, the older dynasty warriors were easily the best games for the ps2, i would spend hours and hours playing those games!
360/PS3. Empires is leaps and bounds greater than the original but there's only two basic modes. Empires and Edit...TONS of customization. Unlike past DW's where small groups of 3-5 guys charge at you, this one has lots of crowd-clearing situations. On another note, your generals/officers will be completely useless when going up against other officers. And, you cannot save your characters level/stats+misc bonuses when starting over...Only weapons/mounts at a fairly heavy price.
A yet, nice rise for the Dynasty Warriors era installment. A huge improving impact for the previously installment Dynasty Warriors 6. The new feature "Edit Mode" allows you to create an officer of your own and up to a decent amount of spaces. "Empire Mode", which allows you to choose your character you wish to heed your empire with. All new features are a blast, though the previous feature "Free Mode", as last seen from Dynasty Warrior 6, was delayed.
Dang I just realize that in siege battles that would be awesome to get those defence captains when you are defending like xu chang or other siege battles. I truly hope those japanese bastards change it. I really respect the japanese for making this game but the effort in this one was pathetic. it took a short period for empires to come out. NO wonder cause they just ruined what DW6 had for the fans. I you are a true DW fans you would realize what had been changed. I pray they change it back.
I was playing DW 6 not empires. The battle was invasion of Xu Chang. I just watched and battled outside the seige and it was awesome. I thought empires would allow you to get catapults and giant crossbows but HELL NO THEY TOOK IT OUT. DW 6 WAS A NEW ERA and IT WAS NOT PRESENT IN EMPIRES. THE CHARACTERS DONT KNOW EACH OTHER. Guan yu walks up to liu bei as if he never knew him. Horrible. They got to do another fast with DW6 tactics such as catapults. Make it like DW5 emp and with DW6. Cool. really
I've been thinking of getting this game, but not sure about it. I was wonder if some who've played it could asnwer some questions. First, is it true as a ruler, you can only have up to 15 characters under your command? Second, can you play a whole game out as a merc or officer? And can you do it as your created character? Is it really that hard to were your going to get your ass kick as a low level character or does that depend on the difficulty setting? Thanks ahead of time for the answers
As a ruler you can have around 10 to 15(not sure about the exact amount) Officers under your command. But in battle only 3 of your officers can be Mussou characters. And you can complete the game as an officer as well, at some points its even more fun then playing as a ruler. As a low level you will get your ass kicked if you try to seize power immediately even on easy mode...
yes chaos is only a bitch only if ur army's #'s are low but if their way higher than the other guy's then it'll be a cinch like always they always give u a run on chaos mode XD but this time around i played on master so i could fufill some objectives and got my platinum soon after
and yes u can get the trophies on any mode but like the bonus material is only unlocked with points that u acquire after u've completed a specific objective
THE MUSOU CHARACTERS DONT EVEN KNOW EACH OTHER on the battle field like in DW 6. they don't talk to each other. i was hoping DW 6 empires was going to be like DW 6 but choosing your own ruler and all was destroyed. this is all hopfully. Go ahead and dis on my opinion but this is my opinion. some of you might think the same as me or a little. if you hate me for saying this to these types of games i dont blame you. I just want my opinion heard because those who changed this game pissed me off.
people. these are just my opinion that the game could of been alot better if these were added to the game. opening was ok but DW 6 opeing was more kick ass. zhao yun vs lu bu cool. look at the abilties too like true speed. Guan yu having true speed. Crazy shouldn't he have brace first. You could always add more but brace should be first than speed cause his attacks in true speed sucked really bad. like three stricks than a long pause than you can strike again.

I just said it sucked but it is fact that most is changed. They put effort as a ruler and an officer but not the entire game. Do guys even see that your army have the blue color even if your shu or wu. Still here. I'm glad they brought meng huo back. in the land of chaos. if your ruler is an created character your army will always be blue. One word GARBAGE!!! What if your opponent is Wei it would be blue vs blue. There was a lot of blue vs blue when I played in the land of chaos mode. What the fuck happened to the giant crossbows and catapults. Why cant they be in this game. Why cant they add in beast masters. Why can't you have troops following you like in bladestorm.
I have alot to say still again. Why can't you choose what soldier you are. like be a general in combat or in strategy. Why cant there be two titles like grand general and the other can be prime minister. The locations for your opponents main base in a lot of battles were changed and a dum location. Who has a watchpost changed to a main camp. Look at Xu chang. the main camp isn't in the palace what the FUCK. DW 6 owns alot of DW 6 Empires. Shouldn't there be a special battle in each period.
I have more to say. I bought this at gamestop for 40 dollars. I had a lot of expectations. In the end I rate it a 4.4 out of 10 compared to DW 6 the first. Edit mode was cool though. Except why don't they let your design the weapons. Look at some of their weapons. You might not want a white fan or purple claws. Come on. They dont match your edit characters. THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION. They removed alot of the climbing watch towers. Archers are all on the bottom. To many lietenants in the way.
This game was ok but not as great as Dynasty Warriors 6 and 5 Empires. Getting a friend is fine as an officer but only able to get 15 musou characters in your country is garbage. Look at DW 5 empires. You can get all the musou characters in your army. Game was ok but not as great. You cant even choose your own army color. There isn't even a free mode. How can you level up your character easy like in DW 6. They put NO EFFORT in this GAME. Look. In YEllOW Turban. All the warlords are purple color.

well, I have DW6 on xbox anyway and tbh it's hard if you only have one controller (basically playing solo campaign). TRUST ME, the game is VERY quicker and VERY easier if you have 2 controllers so you play 2 player on the missions. I have done all the missions on the game and tbh about a third of them I wouldn't of done without playing it 2 player...
well... DW6 is like your normal dynasty warriors with one person story line but empires is where you pick a person or do the story of a person and you concour the hole of where ever it is by defeating other army's and that lol... empires is better tho :P

Unlike past DW's where small groups of 3-5 guys charge at you, this one has lots of crowd-clearing situations. On another note, your generals/officers will be completely useless when going up against other officers. And, you cannot save your characters level/stats+misc bonuses when starting over...Only weapons/mounts at a fairly heavy price.

I like the part of customization character, like "make your own dynasty warrior". :D
But i like more Sengoku Basara because its characters are more charismatics and the battles are like shounen animes.
But i'll buy the two series ^^

A yet, nice rise for the Dynasty Warriors era installment. A huge improving impact for the previously installment Dynasty Warriors 6. The new feature "Edit Mode" allows you to create an officer of your own and up to a decent amount of spaces. "Empire Mode", which allows you to choose your character you wish to heed your empire with. All new features are a blast, though the previous feature "Free Mode", as last seen from Dynasty Warrior 6, was delayed.
A must buy for fans of the series!

Dang I just realize that in siege battles that would be awesome to get those defence captains when you are defending like xu chang or other siege battles. I truly hope those japanese bastards change it. I really respect the japanese for making this game but the effort in this one was pathetic. it took a short period for empires to come out. NO wonder cause they just ruined what DW6 had for the fans. I you are a true DW fans you would realize what had been changed. I pray they change it back.

I was playing DW 6 not empires. The battle was invasion of Xu Chang. I just watched and battled outside the seige and it was awesome. I thought empires would allow you to get catapults and giant crossbows but HELL NO THEY TOOK IT OUT. DW 6 WAS A NEW ERA and IT WAS NOT PRESENT IN EMPIRES. THE CHARACTERS DONT KNOW EACH OTHER. Guan yu walks up to liu bei as if he never knew him. Horrible. They got to do another fast with DW6 tactics such as catapults. Make it like DW5 emp and with DW6. Cool. really

I've been thinking of getting this game, but not sure about it. I was wonder if some who've played it could asnwer some questions. First, is it true as a ruler, you can only have up to 15 characters under your command? Second, can you play a whole game out as a merc or officer? And can you do it as your created character? Is it really that hard to were your going to get your ass kick as a low level character or does that depend on the difficulty setting? Thanks ahead of time for the answers

As a ruler you can have around 10 to 15(not sure about the exact amount) Officers under your command. But in battle only 3 of your officers can be Mussou characters. And you can complete the game as an officer as well, at some points its even more fun then playing as a ruler. As a low level you will get your ass kicked if you try to seize power immediately even on easy mode...

yes chaos is only a bitch only if ur army's #'s are low but if their way higher than the other guy's then it'll be a cinch like always they always give u a run on chaos mode XD but this time around i played on master so i could fufill some objectives and got my platinum soon after

THE MUSOU CHARACTERS DONT EVEN KNOW EACH OTHER on the battle field like in DW 6. they don't talk to each other. i was hoping DW 6 empires was going to be like DW 6 but choosing your own ruler and all was destroyed. this is all hopfully. Go ahead and dis on my opinion but this is my opinion. some of you might think the same as me or a little. if you hate me for saying this to these types of games i dont blame you. I just want my opinion heard because those who changed this game pissed me off.

people. these are just my opinion that the game could of been alot better if these were added to the game. opening was ok but DW 6 opeing was more kick ass. zhao yun vs lu bu cool. look at the abilties too like true speed. Guan yu having true speed. Crazy shouldn't he have brace first. You could always add more but brace should be first than speed cause his attacks in true speed sucked really bad. like three stricks than a long pause than you can strike again.

This is just my opinion since im a fan and i played dw6 the first and empires to see what the difference is. What i said is my opinion and that it is fact. I just said it sucked but it is fact that most is changed. They put effort as a ruler and an officer but not the entire game. Do guys even see that your army have the blue color even if your shu or wu. And some of the characters voices are different. one thing is that sun jian has a line that is messed up. go check yourself people.

well to be honest with u DNAce...everytime you start the game your army no matter who it is will be represented with a random color and the reason why the game is the way it is is simply because it's a free for all like a fantasy match it's not meant to represent the real DW...it's kinda like saints row vs gta 4 one let's u do and customize just about every thing little do ppl know that empires is just meant to be well a do it yourself kinda game

Still here. I'm glad they brought meng huo back. in the land of chaos. if your ruler is an created character your army will always be blue. One word GARBAGE!!! What if your opponent is Wei it would be blue vs blue. There was a lot of blue vs blue when I played in the land of chaos mode. What the fuck happened to the giant crossbows and catapults. Why cant they be in this game. Why cant they add in beast masters. Why can't you have troops following you like in bladestorm.

I have alot to say still again. Why can't you choose what soldier you are. like be a general in combat or in strategy. Why cant there be two titles like grand general and the other can be prime minister. The locations for your opponents main base in a lot of battles were changed and a dum location. Who has a watchpost changed to a main camp. Look at Xu chang. the main camp isn't in the palace what the FUCK. DW 6 owns alot of DW 6 Empires. Shouldn't there be a special battle in each period.

I have more to say. I bought this at gamestop for 40 dollars. I had a lot of expectations. In the end I rate it a 4.4 out of 10 compared to DW 6 the first. Edit mode was cool though. Except why don't they let your design the weapons. Look at some of their weapons. You might not want a white fan or purple claws. Come on. They dont match your edit characters. THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION. They removed alot of the climbing watch towers. Archers are all on the bottom. To many lietenants in the way.

This game was ok but not as great as Dynasty Warriors 6 and 5 Empires. Getting a friend is fine as an officer but only able to get 15 musou characters in your country is garbage. Look at DW 5 empires. You can get all the musou characters in your army. Game was ok but not as great. You cant even choose your own army color. There isn't even a free mode. How can you level up your character easy like in DW 6. They put NO EFFORT in this GAME. Look. In YEllOW Turban. All the warlords are purple color.

U must select Chaos in the land then be a ruler then you can start with like 4 people I believe, if you start off as an Officer then u must keep going to events till you see become friends with someone thats the only way when your an Officer

you all listen koei are taking the piss with this me have this game now and the CPU is too over powerd i put it on easy and it took me 15 mins to kill the leader and i used my phone for this it takes them 10 secs to take a normal base and takes them 15 secs to take the main camp and all this is on easy i swear koei are taking the piss

well, I have DW6 on xbox anyway and tbh it's hard if you only have one controller (basically playing solo campaign). TRUST ME, the game is VERY quicker and VERY easier if you have 2 controllers so you play 2 player on the missions. I have done all the missions on the game and tbh about a third of them I wouldn't of done without playing it 2 player...

Its a good thing that you can make your own warrior, though I wish there were more equpments to choose from, there are just too few different armors.
Agree on the Knight Warriors, the European have so much more history of war than the Japanese/Chinese, they sure wouldnt lack of ideas.
