  • my espon is in the trash,,,,now using HP and I can't say I'm spending that much less on ink....these companies suck ass.

  • I will NEVER use Epson again. I tried printing once, but then it said i was "low" on Magenta, not even empty. No biggie i thought, ill just print in greyscale (black and white). It STILL wouldnt let me print because i was "low" on magenta. Then i tried to scan an image, but, you guessed it STILL wouldnt print becuse im "low" on magenta. STAY AWAY FROM EPSON!

  • epson is the equivalent to junk. not only badly designed but they rarely work without going in knowing you will spend the first hour frustrated until you settle for bad output...and they seem to be getting more cheap and junky with newer models.

  • Dude, I'm in the same situation. I'm a student, I need to print things on a regular basis. My epson wont even let me use third party cartridges! These cocksuckers at epson need to pay for the scam they are perpetrating on the general public

  • i have all model reset softwares for epson printers like t 60 t 50 artisan 700 artisan 800 tx 800fw p 50 and many more plz contact

  • i used to have a lexmark printer i spent £50 on ink for black and colour so i sold it and got a epson printer much better offer £30 for the whole set.

  • i used to have a lexmark printer i spent £50 on ink for black and colour so i sold it and got a epson printer much better offer £30 for the whole set !!!!!!!!!!!

  • I smashed my epson px710w with a sledge hammer after 7 months of use.the damn thing wouldnt recognize newly installed genuine ink cartridges.STAY CLEAR FROM EPSON

  • Try a Kodiak Ai0 Printer. I did a test and over time the ink drops by 10% every week and I only print 5 sheets per week. So at 10% for every week for a month or two you already ready to buy a new one. The machine does something to burn off INK or it's just lying. I may have to break open a ink toner to see wtf is up. I don't know why there is not a law on this. It's downright STEALING and false advertisement. I thought you could sue for that.

  • Epson Stinks!!!!!! I'll never forget the black ink color shift debacle. Not to mention the clogged heads that wastes tons of ink during many cleaning cycles. Photos mounted under glass did the same thing. Cost me so much money in photo replacement (weddings)!!!!

HP RULES, Better photo paper, better ink, better build quality, enclosed paper path ( keeps out the dust )... I currently use the Photosmart D7260 and never looked back...

  • Epson printers maybe can do 10 pages per cartridge. Add a new cart - it has to be charged; this uses 25% of ink, then it says the cart is empty when it shows 25% remaining. Every time you use it it needs head-cleaning which uses more ink. it is rediculous. They now set their printers so that they cant print black if a color is out. EVERYONE STAY CLEAR OF THIS SCAM CORPORATION! also this is so NON-green and terrible for the environment. My experience is based on owning 4 epson printers.

  • Funny so many here trashing Epson, when EVERY other brand of printer does the same thing. Apparently most people here haven't heard of using 3rd party compatible ink and cartridges.

Canons latest printers are even worse. You can't even reset the chips on their cartridges. At least with Epsons latest printers you can.

  • just been to PC world here in the UK , was going to buy an all in one wireless epson, but they have a scam of offering a FREE 3 year Guarentee if you buy a multipack of 6 cartridges for £54, when online a set of copy carts are only £4 delivered, ive never paid more than £1 per cartridge in years for Epson, so how can Epson rate the price of their cartridges, as there is a credit crunch & its a buyers market & other companies offer long Guarentee`s as standard, whats up with Epson

  • Fuck you Epson! I'm gonna buy a Canon printer now.

  • Yeah, Epson is the king of ripoffs. Try canon, it doesn't need any forced resets and the cartridges have clear hole spots, which can be drilled and filled by anyone with 2 hands, Im a college student printing 20 pages a day and thats what i recommend for everyone to buy. Oh by the way wal-mart's ink kits for 15 bucks are the best!

  • epson sucks cock my ink ran out in like 1 day went to get some more and kept saying i didnt have a certain color when im tryna print black and white ima probs give a laser printer a try next

  • Bulk ink systems are Great! Just avoid a company called FORINKANDMORE from San Marcos, Texas. They advertise continuous ink systems for your printer. Your credit card will be charged but you will NOT RECEIVE ANYTHING. I am not the only one duped by this SCAM. Whats more they have instruction vidoes right here on youtube! Warn others before they too are duped! Thanks

  • I'm surprised EPSON has not been sued over this shit!

I decided to print 'black only' and only printed out a few dozen pages over 6+month and I ran out of all my colour cartridges. They all dropped at the same rate suggesting to me that the cartridges are rigged to expire or something. So fucking unhappy with this CX4700, NEVER touch an EPSON again.

  • I just found out you can buy ink cart resetters on ebay. They are around 5 bucks and you just reset the chip and it will let you use the rest of the ink. Epson still scams though. Shoud be illegal.

  • My Epson printer refused to print black text because the cyan cartridge was, according to the software, empty. I found that to be highly strange as I've never had a printer that's required color ink to print in black. Went online, read about similar issues with Epson printers and decided to cut open the "empty" cartridge, as you did. Identical results. The cartridge had a good 20% of the ink remaining.

Buying a new printer tomorrow. Epson can kiss my ass.

  • Get an HP Officejet Pro, they are made specifically to empty the cartridge up to the very very last drop, they have an actual sensor that can determine when there's not a single drop left. They also have the lowest cost per page even with genuine cartridges, and are very easily refilled or modified to a continuous ink system to get the cost per page down to 0.4 cents a page if you buy the ink by the liter (which makes 50 000 prints). I have 250 000 prints done on my HP Officejet Pro.

  • This is exactly why people buy into promotions that include a free printer then throw it away and repeat instead of buying ripoff cartridges. More crap in our landfills, thanks printer corporations of the world.

  • Personally my opinion is that ALL companies make crappy inkjet printers. But yeah, Epson is something special, straight from the bowels of the underworld. Seriously the sooner this company drops off the planet the better.

  • Epson Printers SUCK, plain and simple. I've owned 4, I've used COUNTLESS numbers at my work and I will tell you without a doubt EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM has the SAME PROBLEM. If you don't print every single day, the nozzles will clog, and the printer will be rendered USELESS. The bottom line is, Epson Printers are DISPOSABLE pieces of JUNK.

  • i linked your video on myapplespace

  • FUCK EPSON!

  • With my cartridges I can press the reset button... Also some black and white printing uses all your colors to make black.

  • I have a cannon mp460 and it runs out of ink insanely fast.....if you look at really old ink cartridges like hp 45/78 they have like 6 times as much in in them. If someone was smart they'd make a generic line of printers that uses the old Hp 45 cartridges and sell millions of them, HP would probably sue anyone who did that into oblivion however.

  • @MMZen The new ones with the 88/940 cartridges hold WAY more ink than those old 45/78 ones and cost much less per page. They also print at like 10 times the speed of the machines using 45/78 cartridges.

  • send this to epsoneuroupe and make and boucott epson

    BOYCOTT THESE BASTARDS!

  • I'd be interested to know if the standards for ink cartridges say a claim of 1ml means you must be able to use 1ml or if they just have to ensure 1ml is added into the cartridge. In the FMCG industry you don't have to ensure the consumer can use the claimed amount e.g. foods etc

  • Another case of highway robbery-they have a licence to print money the bastards!

  • epson should be sued AGAIN AND HAVE TO STOP THIS SHIT!

    PS SMASH YOUR EPSON!

  • This is why I buy refillable aftermarket Epson cartridges off of Ebay. $13 including shipping for a set of black and the three colors. Simplest cartridges to refill ever.

  • cx4700, add that to your list!, Thats what Ive got, I only print black and white, but I still have to replace my color ink just as often, FUCK EPSON

    Good scanners tho...

  • EPSON ARE DIRTY LYIN BASTARDS. IM THE SAME.

    DONT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM.

  • lol what have you done!!!

  • wow I just bought a printer and im going to go get my money back

  • On my old epson, I was able to trick the printer into using the cartridge again, not on the new ones. You have to replace the cart. even if you don't need that color, otherwise the printer won't operate. That is what is so wrong about it. I can use B&W for a year and somehow my blue went out? Yeah right epson, they think they are slick, it's just a business plan to them,,,,criminal.

  • yes its on an ink using monitor....and once that monitor says your out of ink you cant normally use the printer. but on some of the canon modals you can ( but there is a button combination you have to press to get it to work, like holding the ok/resume button for 10 seconds.) after that fuck it and use refills.

  • lexmark is just bad IMO the amount of people that hate them is insane.

    just cheap crap.

  • I'm sure you can just click carry on and print and print and print like I do. I agree they really are a rip. We buy cheaper cartidges online - pretty good, but when epsom find out, they stop the chips working in the printers through an update. Suckers

  • i agree, I'm sick of this crap

  • Horrible printers, and yes, criminals.

  • i wanna mention that when using Linux Ubuntu, it prints even on the cartridges that are claimed to be empty on windows.. the ink sensor chip doesnt work on ubuntu ;D

  • lexmark has the worst customer service ever,,,epson is a bunch of criminals...

  • I threw my piece of shit Epson printer in the garbage and bought a Lexmark.

  • @#$%!!! I hAD a cx3500, was a weird printer, the ink dissapeares w/o use/turn on 0.o... Was printing slowy, doing much noise, giving driver problems with UNIX's descendants printing sistem (Common UNIX Printing Sistem or CUPS). Now, i got a HP c4480 photosmart, WAY BETTER. HP on 1ºst place, Cannon on seccond and EPSON... On the LAST place...

  • Epson does this. Someone should sue for them this, ripping people off like that.

  • really nice patternation on your art. reminds me of yves klein..

  • Nah they don't have a sensor. At least not the cartridges for the C86 printer.

At first I thought the same thing, but upon closer inspection that little hole really isn't anything.

Regardless, I used a chip resetter on my cartridges and got at least another 50 pages out of it before the ink started to run out for real.

  • hey you. if got a inkt shop in the netherlands. and Epson is bullshit for refill do not buy... or buy when it is a epson printer of 5 years ;) the oldskool are the bast of epson..... go buy Brother every brother can be refilled....

  • my brother ink cartridges also have that amount of ink

  • Meant to ask, why on earth did you strip it down in the first place and how come you managed to make such a mess? Stripping ANY printer will end up with ink all over the place so it isn't only an epson. Want to know a rip off printer manufacturer, try LEXMARK

  • Had an epson R22 for 3 years now, never had a problem and only pay £4.50 for a full set of cartridges! ( UK )

  • ««I think you've missed something»». But I'm pretty sure that behind the cart, under the spring, there is a llittle square opponent, with 4 contacts on it, and in the middle of it, I see a verry verry little contact with a drop of ink on it... So, the Epson realy as a chamber that communicate the ink with this square opponent then transmit to the cart. I don't know if it's read the pressure or the size of the drop, but I'm pretty sure that Epson cartdrige realy have a level sensor on It.

  • I'm scrapping my Epson Inkjet for a monochrome laser printer. No more stupid ink cartridges, no more clogging nozzles, no more wasting half the ink on "cleaning" the nozzles!

    Good ol' toner doesn't lie.

  • @TehMG I have both a laser and inkjet, my laser machine says it's out of toner when the cartridge is still half full and stops printing. Not to mention the cartridges are $700 (it is a color laser). If you want low cost per page the lowest of any printer is the HP Officejet Pro series inkjets, they use ink to the absolute last drop using a sensor that can tell when there's not a single drop left. The cost per page in color is half that of laser printers, at up to 4 times the printing speed.

  • Ouch. So much for a $250 printer.
