good build. ive made a flight yoke, collective and rudder from the innards of 1 joystick but not sure how to connect the rudder pot up, id like to see a close up of yours.
QUESTION: Is there anyway you can use a game port rudder with saitek usb yoke and throttle, are is there any mods i can do to get it to work,,my rudder pedals are ch product but it has game port instead of usb,,,HELP!!!
I have a Genius F23 joy and I started to build a WWI cockpit. So I'm planning to make this pedals and also make a seperated throttle using the same method. And I'd need to expand the joystick to a real stick used in WWI but I'm afraid if I'll get bored using simulator I'll have to set back the original joy. It sucks.
So, did the joystick have a rudder (Z axis) with it originally? If so, did you just cannabalize the original rudder pedals to create an improved version? The port on the joystick looks OEM.
I really liked your rudder pedals.Something which is always missing from simulator programes.(I am thinking that you are a person who really wants to FLY .Take a flight in aMoyes Dragonfly if you can find one.Nice and slow.If you can't any ultralite will do.Quite different from your simulator although you will have a head start on most non pilots.Take a brave step it will change your life.
What type of compnents are you using? How did you patch into the joystick? What was invovled in the setup for the computer to be able to take the input?
I just soldered the potentiometer from the homemade rudder to the cables from the joystick's rudder, and then just recalibrated the joystick and rudder.
Later I just soldered a switch so I can switch between rudder from joystick and the other one.

The joystick had the Z Axis on the stick - not external.

thnks matey.

well how you conect your pedal in the computer ??

It is connected to the joystick!

Well, I tried this design and found that the lower pedal would get "stuck" all the way down at full travel. There was also a lot of flex.
I suspect you have the same problem. Great initial design though. Just needs some "stops" to prevent the deadlock.

I allready build the "stops" and also moved the potentiometer and also removed this drive for him an made it push-pull.
