anyone else notice how countless amounts of people do nothing but compare wojtek to other accomplished bassists? this guy is like every bass critics punching bag and its sad really i think hes absolutely amazing

I think the reason why he is criticised by people so often is that you'll almost never see him doing anything different from slapping... and a bassist who is slapping all the time makes people think that his note choice etc. might not be advanced enough to actually i.e. play a well structured and solid solo over changes. This might not be true but thats how people see it.

He's good but it's all a bit technical and not too musical. I prefer Marlowedk's playing style, groovy and melodic.

Guess it depends on what you're looking for: A solo that repeats itself for at least 1 minute; or creative melodies that hit #1 on the UK and US charts (think Mark King and Level 42).

timing is actually almost perfect, check out something like bass dance, the drums drop out quite a few times and he stays perfectly in time with fast licks. let's see ur playing?
