I would just like to add that we still are in a ice age. because an ice age is when there is snow at the north pole and the south pole of the planet. I do believe that the planet is slowly dieing because of polution but i think everyone might be going abit over the top. The ONLY places these alarmists claim are 'warming' and/or being 'harmed' by it are places almost none of us can easily go visit and see for ourselves. I can state unequivocally that the climate in my own back yard in Massachusetts has not noticeably changed AT ALL in the last 30 years. It's had its ups and downs, more/less snow/rain, hotter/colder years, some weird weather here and there along the way but NOTHING to suggest 'runaway' global warming.

The whole topic of Anthropogenic Global Warming is a house of cards.  It is built upon a series of assumptions. Many of those assumptions are questionable at best and some are even proving to be false.

Rather than force the rich nations to "spread their wealth" through taxation and foreign aid, the world's governments should be encouraging the wealthy nations to develop advanced, cheap, clean, reneable and portable energy sources. That way we all benefit instead of suffering.

1) Global Temps are rising. - FALSE - All the evidence suggests that the pattern of rising temperatures seen in the 1980s and 1990s has reversed.

2) We can measure Global Temps accurately - MAYBE - We have only been able to measure accurately (with satellites) for about 30 years. Before that, all measurements are error prone.

3) Temp rises are caused by CO2. - UNLIKELY - Water vapor has more that 20 times the greenhouse effect of CO2. H2O concentrations vary naturally with seasons and solar activity. Co2 concentrations have risen over the last 10 years, but Temps have gone down.

4) Rising Temps is bad for mankind - UNLIKELY - Higher temps will improve crop yields and spur plant growth (consuming more CO2).

5) Man can influence the level of C02 by cutting emissions - FALSE - Man is only responsible for 3% of CO2 emossions, which are only responsible for <5% of greenhouse effect cutting emissions by 30% will reduce the greenhouse effect by less than 0.05%!

With all these assumptions tuning out to be doubtful or just wrong, I have to ask why this topic is so important and so critical.

Whenever someone is trying deparately to sell a bill of goods, the answer usually lies at the end of the money train.

Ask yourself: whether AGW is true or false, who stands to gain the most money from all this hysteria? Ask yourself whether those people will be around to pay the consequences of wasting mankind's time if AGW is debunked by 2050.

I remain slightly skeptical about many of the claims made in support of this so called man made global warming. I see a lot of white collar jobs bing created and a lot of governments money being spent as a consequence of these claims. However we have had heat waves, floods and an ice age long before we had the industrial revolution. The world is and always has been evolving. Man only produces a peak 2.9% of the total CO2, most of it is released by the oceans as the sun's temperature rises, because CO2 becomes progressively insoluble with temperature rise. It's then absorbed by the ecosphere. CO2 is essential to plant life and oxygen production for humans.
