  • That was so sweet. I'm all pumped up after the Obama infomercial (that's what he called it himself, on The Daily Show) and by this evening's Barry 'n Bubba show in Florida, which was pretty great, and looking for more stuff to feel good about, and this fills the bill. Al, I miss you on AAR but would love to see you on C-SPAN (in the Senate). Best of luck!

  • Al Franken looks like a very positive, friendly man. I don't understand how Republicans can hate such a cool guy.

His political ad was very positive and friendly. I doubt the same can be said of his opponent's political ads.

    I hope Franken wins!

  • very nice

  • Al's the best!!

  • Republicans aren't funny like this, they have difficulty with humour as they're usually sociopathic personality types. The people on the 'dark side'.

  • totally agreed :)

(except for those who support Ron Paul, i kinda tend to agree with them on the war and the economy)

  • Go Al! Norm Coleman should never be in politics again. Watch the galloway vs. coleman video on utube.

  • Go Al - back to New York!

  • that teacher does not represent all minnesotans lol, her voice is ridunc

  • When you contrast a brilliant man like Al Franken with Norm Coleman, it's like comparing Einstein to Zippy the Pinhead.

  • Good stuff, man. I still don't support politics, but I will always support your kind of enthusiasm for making the world -- not just our country -- a better place.

  • What I like about this is that here you have Al on Letterman, being watched by millions, and for a significant time, instead of using all the time to boost his campaign, he takes significant time out to sing the praise of a school teacher who touched him. It just goes to show that Al is not one of the soulless sellouts that is typical of career politicians. He has a genuine caring heart.

  • I'd vote for him if i lived in Minnesota. I've read his book "Liars" and it was excellent. Most people don't realize how well educated Al Franken is because they assume since he's a comedian that he's another Michael Moore but Al Franken has been apart of the faculty at Harvard. Good Luck Al!!!

  • Al should stick to comedy, in government you need logic, not sarcasm.

  • I agree with you about logic. Look at Norm Coleman, the Republican Al Franken is running against He's a cheerleader for Bush/Cheney, parroting every talking point and rubber-stamping every piece of legislation pushed by Bush, logic be damned. Watch "George Galloway vs. the U.S. Senate: Full & Uncut" and watch as Coleman is exposed as an inept Bush lapdog in over his head. Choosing Norm Coleman over Al Franken defies all logic.

  • Is this true about Norm Coleman? Cool. He doesn't stand a chance then.

  • Yeah Cuz Bush is full of Logic,, right ? Wow your really clueless arent you

  • logic is not obtainable at Harvard apparently, comedy also takes a lot of logic and awareness of people's interests

  • He wants a socialist country like most liberals. The problem is he forgets or he is stupid socialism does not work.

  • The socialist idea you have in your mind is stuffed by somone else.....jus relax sit back and try to find the cause of your socialistic view about liberals...I won;t be surprised you will end up finding it someone else's idea.

  • socialist, you mean like removing civil liberties and rights in the name of "terrorism?"

wait, you're right, that's not socialist.

    it's fascist.

  • Silly, silly. Liberals don't want socialism. That's just a silly lie spread by your conservative leaders. All us liberals want is a country run by the people. :)

  • Yes!

  • You WILL WIN, you ROCK AL!!!!

  • Oh god, it's...SO Minnesotan.

    Sap-camp. I feel dirty.

But i think i like it.

    -Qes

  • 'new progressive majority'... sweet sweet words!

    GO AL!!!

  • I have mucho respect for you, Al.

  • I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Al, Don't run for Senate, RUN FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!

  • He has to do time as a senator to build up both alliance and Washington experience. But there will come a Presidential contention at some point, I am sure. I look forward to it. But first I look forward to knowing there is at least one uncorrupted idealist in the Senate.

  • precisely why i'm against bush's "no child left behind" farce...thank you for posting this :)

  • Go Al!

  • Go Al!

  • Right on Al Franken!! Keep it up!! We need you more than ever.

  • Screw Senator -- Al for VP!
