  • nice playing does it get loud enough for small clubs without mic? how round is sound and is it a drawback without tone switches? is the attenuation just a half power switch??

  • @chmusiclessons I tried it yesterday. It's not very loud, but it's louder than I expected, maybe you can play with it with drums, but not playing gigs. The sound it's pretty good, bright, nice overdrive, but not worth 950€. Yes' it's only one stage attenutator. I like the tremolo, very good for some swamply slide blues things.

  • @chymist66 if you want sweet vintage tube tone at volumes that won't have the neighbors calling the Fuzz, try a Champion 600, or if you like distortion, a Vox AC4. With the money you'd save over buying the EC, you could buy a really nice Guitar to go with it.

  • Skip the EC version, and get the real deal, vintage Blackface Vibro Champ. I happen to have a great one for sale… sounds better than this one.

  • That has got to be the sweetest sounding small amp with a massive sound I've heard on the tube. I'm looking for a low wattage tube amp, this has just made my short list. You didn't have it mic'd is it as loud as it sounds. These 5W amps have some serious balls don't they. I presume the 12Watt Tremolux is too loud for the house. I'm a 40-something Novice whose doesn't not want to upset the neighbours. Mid-life crisis I guess. Nice playing mate.
