  • This was so bad but simply HILARIOUS! Hahhaaa!!!

  • I think Jesus has just come in!

  • I love it how Alan's the only one that stays serious throughout the whole sketch!!

  • I dying :D

  • just a load of posh twats taking the piss out of yorkshire

  • Omg that was funny

  • absolute tragedy to the original BOOOOOO

  • Amnesty international - We Know Where You Live, Live

  • What's this from? Not the four yorkshiremen sketch but this particular performance? Odd line up indeed.

  • could the audience shut the fuck up so I could at least pretend to enjoy this

  • "I think Jesus has just come in" No, just the voice of God. ;)

But Alan Rickman doing a classic Python sketch? I think I've just died and gone to heaven.

  • Alan Rickman is sexiest, Vic Reeves is funniest. Who agrees?

  • i actually thought Vic Reeves was the best o.o

Harry enfield used that "T" crap too much, did my head in!

Alan Rickman and Eddie Izzard just can't do the accent lol.

  • Harry Enfield beats em all out, despite how awesome AlanRickman, Izzard isn't even trying.

  • EDDIE IZZARD... MARRY ME NOW.

  • Alan speaks, the crowd loses their minds...sounds about right.

  • Perhaps, he should've have said: " My dad would slice us in 5 with his hands since he could'nt afford a bread knife! "

  • I would scream too, when Alan started talking. Dear god his voice is incredible.

  • "Luuuxxury!"

  • A legendry sketch totally killed by vic reeves and harry enfield

  • @aikiliam Thats what i thought! After seeing the pythons do it, If I was any of these people I would be embarassed to publish this. 2nd rate at best.

  • ahhh just enjoying it..it's a tribute to a work of art...otherwise fook off

  • Alan is reading a script, Eddie is doing best to stay true to the original, the other two are playing a game of one upsmanship.

  • I'm not a real fan of this version :P They are laughing too much. Alan was good as always though :)

  • Alan Rickman says a basic line. Women scream. Seems about right hahaha

  • vic reeeves... possibly the least funny individual since mother theresa tried her hand at stand up

  • love it! simply love it

  • sorry. yes funny

  • not funny

  • Jesus come in

coz Alan is the olny one who can keep a straight face! Thats acting!

  • This whole clip is just awesome, just by the presence of Eddie and Alan. And the fact that Eddie is just cracking up throughout it XD

  • LMAO How I love Alan Rickman <3

  • this made my day <3

  • The audience just went a little metal when they saw Alan Rickman, but then again who could blame them? <3

  • Eddie Izzard and Alan Rickman in a sketch together? My comedy dream has come true!

  • 28 hours a day.. poor vic :'( His childhood sounds like it was soo hard xx

  • rubbish

  • I love the competition over who has the worst accent between Enfield and Reeves

  • @afro10k Which is quite odd, as Reeves was born in Leeds. :D

  • @NoekieB Evidently he does quite a good one... But when he hams it up... Phenomenal.

  • @afro10k Aye... Suuuugaaaarrrr! :D

I absolutely adore the original Python versions of this sketch, but I just like how they are just taking the piss and improvising willynillyly (that has to be a word, right? I'm not sure, I'm foreign. Though I do a pretty good Yorkshire accent. :p). Harry Enfield is a bit annoying at times, but I tolerate him.

  • @NoekieB Ah, but Python's "Four Yorkshiremen" was not, in fact, the original. The sketch was originally from At Last the 1948 Show (John Cleese, Graham Chapman, Marty Feldman, Tim Brooke-Taylor) and has been just as beautifully perfomed by several groups. And I thoroughly agree on the Enfield comment.

  • @rosieeb123 I actually knew this, as I own the '1948 show' DVD, but my brain chose to only remember the python one. Silly brain. At least I wasn't entirely wrong, as the original has Cleese and Chapman. That's 33% correct, right? ;)

  • @NoekieB 33.3333333333333333333333333% correct, don't be modest. ;D

  • This sketch (as written) is incredibly funny. This performance is VERY ordinary. Just seems to me like they're making fun of the sketch, not giving it the performance it deserves. Thumbs down.

  • @AndrewP222 Yeah the original is funny, and it's a legend: everyone in the audience knew every line... So it didn't matter that they didn't do it exactly the way it was written, because people know that it's amazing. I think they were having fun WITH the sketch instead of making fun OF it. If they'd just done it normally, it would be boring except to people who have never seen it before (which isn't a lot of people).

  • i love how they are all laughing through it

  • eh js i lived in yorkshire for 20 years and nobody talks like this lol js

  • My flatmate and I found this hilarious! :D

    Love it.

  • aye.....well t'hal atty get thissen a lartle book, an ev a skeg in't see if tha carnt larn sum o't twang....al sithee!

  • I blame my American citizenship for my lack of understanding.

Thankfully, Alan Rickman makes up for it <3

  • Funny but sort of convoluted by the improvisation...some of which is funny but a lot detracts from the story.

  • 25 people aren't Yorkshiremen.

  • 25 people deserved to be cut in't 'alf with bread knife

  • I wish Mr Rickman was my dad! I bet I wouldn't have to pay to go to the movies or theatre if he was.

  • @BadGirlOfAutism and he might thrash you to sleep with his willy...if you were lucky. :D

  • Oh my god I haven't seen this in a couple of years so happy it's here!!!!!!!!!

  • Kinda weird to see "Snape" be the Funny Guy...

  • Unlike the previous versions (At Last the 1948 show, Monty Python, and Monty Python featuring Rowan Atkinson) This version just doesn't do it for me. Other than Alan Rickman, the others are laughing between their lines. Not to mention their appalling atempts at Yorkshire accents.

  • @Brittonsp Agreed. And they are fishing for applauses. It truly goes to show why Monty Python were geniuses.

  • @Brittonsp Alan got a lot of practice playing Snape, so he's learned not to laugh in between. Besides, he's British, how do you expect him to do a Yorkshire accent?

  • @slyrocks3 Alan has been doing this long before the Harry Potter movies. "Besides, he's British, how do you expect him to do a Yorkshire accent?", Where do you think Yorkshire is? Yorkshire is in England.

  • @Brittonsp Agree, I think it's ordinary.

  • I adore deeply all of these guys, but honestly, their accents are crap :/ original's so much better... plus it is a CRIME to change your beautiful voice, Alan!!!!!

  • okkkk... the Yorkshire accents leave something to be desired! but other than that - Alan Rickman and Eddie Izzard - YAY! :)

  • Vic Reeves owns as usual.

Harry Enfield, still an unfunny try-hard.

  • where's the others?

  • Allan Rickman!!!! and Eddie????? holy shit

  • the line "we used to dream of living in a corridor" can only be done by Michael Palin, no other

  • @cannibalfan01 Yeah. This is the first version of the sketch I have seen with no Monty Python members. Just doesn't feel right.

  • alan was cute! XD he was reading his script from the magazine i was wondering what it was then i read his fb fan site and he was filling in for someone! im glad it was him!! he makes it fucking hilarious!

  • The total murder of a classic!!!

  • Alan Rickman...ooft! <3

  • Wow, they really got that dialect nailed down!

  • vic reeves with his shorts rolled up and a flowery shirt = my grandad xD

  • I haven't laughed this much for ages. Just had to get up and have a little wee before watching the rest.

  • Eddie Izzard and the Rickmeister in one wonderful 4 minutes?! I think I just jizzed!

  • Alan's accent was easily the best and no surprises as he's the best actor. Loved this though, love the original too. The willy thing made me lol the most.

  • not as funny as the origanal

  • EAT... a PILE... of hot, steaming, poisonous... MAGMA...

    Just brilliant.

  • I love Reeves' authentic Surrealist Yorkshire accent! 'We yust t' drink Harr Teeeaaa...'

  • Absolutely LOVE Vic Reeves, Eddie Izzard and of course the GODLY ALAN RICKMAN, but I really hate Harry Enfield in this.... :L

  • "I think Jesus has come in."

Better than Jesus. It's Alan Rickman :-p

  • We were evicted from our Heinkel :D

  • SEVERUS!

  • "i think jesus has just come in."

Too right, thats alan motherfrigin rickman

  • I love this it ad me in stitches and it makes me giggle when people say that they can't understand everything that's been said cos of the accent...XD

  • Was to suck on a damp rat.

  • "Our dad would thrash us with his willy" Eddie

    "Luxury" Alan

  • harry barely got a word out :'(

  • lol every time Vic speaks, Eddie cracks up

  • "I think Jesus has just come in!" XD

  • At the time of writing, 24 people are left with a cold cupper tea without MEEOWLK OAH SHUGAARRRR...

    - or tea.

    Or Herma sweeters.

  • Harry Enfield go away. Alan, Eddie and Vic, please stay, make me laugh and love me! Especially Alan! (Happy Birthday too!) ♥

  • what is this, the four yorkshiremen madlibs? still funny anyway

  • Actually, I'm not so native, that I could distinguish every single word. But finally I found tha same vid. posted by someone else, who have written tha script in the description.

  • Folks! I'd give a knuckle for the script of this 'liturgy". pls. help me, cause google doesn't want to.

  • @clicow Type it as you watch ;)

  • i'm surprised theres not any mention of Monty Python's original sketch.. in fact i think the original is way far better. this is just messed up..

  • @martinallien The original was actually from the 'At Last the 1948 Show', which pre-dates Monty Python, although did feature Cleese and Chapman

  • 21 people were evidently sent to bed after a hot dinner of shit and then beaten to sleep by their Dad's willy.

  • Vic Reeves

  • vic reeves and alan rickman i one sketch! life is good!

  • embarasing compared to the python one

  • What I think is so enjoyable about this, the reason the audience and the actors were so tickled with themselves, is that this is such classic sketch. It's so memorable, it's so well known. The actors knew they could never really do it justice, nor could they re-write it and make it better. So instead, they played a bit of 'mad-lib' with it. Is it better than the original? Of course not. Is it still a fitting tribute. I think so.

  • @JohnnyPeaches

I believe you offer a very fair assessment of this performance.

  • FUCK YER LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Alan Rickman. <3

  • Alan rickman and Eddie Izzard. epic

  • As much as I love them all individually, Python did this 5 times better.

  • Alan is the only one who sticks to the script and *doesn't corpse* Good old pro eh?

  • Oh Vic XD I think he means Canderel. Canneston is thrush treatment!

  • mediocre

  • Alan is sooo amazing!! He's like magic!! He casts a spell on you! sighhhh

  • vic reeves is a prat

  • @Libbathegreat no mate - sorry your wrong

  • I don';t know how I lived without seeing this! this is brilliant!

  • epicness. i love how it develops the original and how harry enfield pisses on t'yorkshire accent.

  • @Tartuffified that t'The Yorkshire accent lol

  • a real yorkshire man in the set :)

  • this vid sucks.. you should see the rowan atkinson with john cleese and stuff!!!

  • hehe im rewatching cos its AWESOME :D

  • The original is SO much better. Alan Rickman is great though. He was the only one to keep a straight face.

  • @HILARIOUSKID33 And he's the only one who actually keeps to the original lines. Everyone else starts improvising and he manages to slot in half the original lines by himself while the others basically make it up as they go

  • The audience RUINED the comedic timing of this piece with their fawning applause every ten seconds. Worse still was the smugness of these so called comedians thinking they can improvise every line. The only saving grace here is Eddie Izzard, whose charm is so boundless you can't help but enjoy watching him.

  • I love this though I cannot understand dialogue completely.

Can anyone write their lines, please?

  • after a meal of our own shit...

    ._.

    xD

  • Alan Rickman AND Eddie Izzard? Is this my birthday?!?!

  • @ManiactheLunatic thats what I'm saying! would not the sheer awesomeness of those two on stage together implode the universe? thats like neil patrick harris on a rainbow farting unicorn beating up Chuck norris to save a CHezburger cat Epic...lol

  • @ManiactheLunatic My thoughts exactly my friend

  • @ManiactheLunatic

I know, I discovered this and died! :)

  • I love how Alan's the only one who keeps a straight face throughout.

  • Bad acting.

  • @vef444 it's not acting you cretin, it's comedy on stage, you want acting and comedy watch Frasier or something.

  • @gingermeryl Well, ok, smart and wise man. I don't like comedy like that. Monty Phytons done this with taste and this is bs. Like American Pie or something.

  • The last guy (Vic Reeves) kind of ruined it. Just... "too much."

  • Does anyone know when this was??

  • 19 people deserve to be thrashed to sleep with a willy.

  • OMG Alan looks so SEXY.............Gosh i am only 17 and lusting over him lolz but i can t help it .

  • oh my god I think I just died... t'en these blorkes danced on m' grave singggin "yes sir, I can boogie" XD

  • lol quality

  • No one does the last one quiet as good as john cleese

  • ALAN RICKMAN *______________* :D

  • It's a reference to parts of the North of England the word 'the' tends to get missed and replaced with a slight pause, like when Vic said "a hole in 't' ground". However Southern England comedians think that the 't' is pronounced.

  • vic reeves does shit in this, alan rickman and eddie izzard are amazin

  • @GuiltySparkmeister its a tribute

  • "We were happy INT' those days, weren't we?" Hahah, it's like a really bad tic XD

  • isn't Alan Rickman German? I remember him from Die Hard and Robin Hood

  • @WunderDoob No...He was born and raised in London. He's played German, American, Russian and probably a few other characters.

  • @WunderDoob Aye, with a nice traditional German name...

  • alan rickman, eddie izzard, I love them sooo much ><

  • It's not a remake you twits, it's a tribute! And a great one.

Question though: I don't know the bloke sitting on the left, so I don't really get why he goes "tt'" before some words. Is that a reference to his comedy or something?

  • @lemoncurry19 His name is Harry Enfield and the sound he's making is a farcical imitation of a Yorkshire colloquialism. For the most part, Yorkshire folk don't say the word "the". They use a glottal stop before the 'h' and 'e' making the sound come out as "I've been on t'roof" which sounds the way Enfield was saying it. The comedy comes from the fact that he's putting the 't' in the wrong place *and* saying "the" as well. That's why its so funny.

  • @DeeperRootsProject

Ah it all becomes clear now, thanks so much!!

  • This is so bad it's good.

Alan 'the voice' Rickman is a legend.

  • thats an aweful impression hahahah but funny

  • The difference between a professional actor and comedians is clear - Alan Rickman is the only person in character, keeping a straight face through his lines. Very impressive.

  • I wonder why they decided that Yorkshiremen must wear those old-fashioned glasses

  • Okay that was soooooo funny, funny FUNNY. Oh did I mentione funny? :) And Alan was just Wow and Eddie and oh all of them. And I laughed my head off because all of them couldn't keep a straight face except Alaan Rickman. :)

  • Worst remake sketch ever !

  • Classic Python done by Alan Rickman. It's perfect.

  • Monty Python :D:D:D

  • What is this from?

  • @happyholidaysmovie This was done at the 2001 Amnesty show.

  • this is funny but i gotta say the original was better.

  • ALAN RICKMAN ♥♥♥

  • @corazonelegido FIT BABE

  • Eddie Izzard can barely keep a straight face...

  • hello all, this is classic non stop laughter here. true comedy. I dont want to start an arguement but this reminds me of my grandfather telling me about the great depression in the 1930's the real shit he told me was unreal, now after seeing this i know i will found myself telling my grandkids real life storys of the first decades of the 21st century

again thank you for uploading true classic

    blessings

  • @hanno21664 you don't want to start an arguement but I came here for a 5 minute arguement, ...wait wrong sketch never mind.......

  • @niknarnevets Shut your festering gob, you tit! Your type really makes me puke, you vacuous, coffee-nosed, maloderous, pervert..........

oh wait a minute you wanted an arguement, no wait wait you had the wrong sketch yes that is it. wrong sketch, take care my friend.

  • english humor...

  • eddie cant stop laughing. I love it

  • Happy birthday, Vic Reeves!
