I don't understand why the 'deal' was made between Kumble and Ponting.Even if Ponting was insistent on it Kumble should have just said f**k off to him.Ponting stood his ground while Mahela appealed for a contentious catch and earned a reprieve in the end.It was from the finals of the VB series in 05-06.So if he is not ready to take a fielder's word then he should not be cribbing about his word being taken like he did in the Brisbane test this Ashes.Ponting sound a bit hypocrite to me.

100% clean catch. You guys must be joking! UDRS system that time must have shown you both the accuracy and precision of this decision. Out of all the decisions, this was the worst decision in this so infamous test. Ricky Ponting was showing gesture to umpire that catch is clean. I mean, if umpire is asking from the captain about the catch then, I'm sorry this is not w.r.t rules of the the game called cricket that we know. And, it absolutely meaningless to keep umpires in the match.
