  • jajajajjajajaja mma the best

  • When you learn the slow version of Tai Chi, can you do this like master Wong, because he is awesome

  • They always forget to show you that once your opponent is on the floor...you should run in the opposite direction....

  • Surprisingly similar to Kuzushi-Waza, present in Japanese and Ryukyuan systems.

  • I think Kungfu Panda would destroy him!

  • is this bether than wing chun?

after watching this video i got a dilema -.-

  • @nevonja No it is not "better" just different. take both. hard style Tai Chi is an excellent way to learn flow, countering, re-directing attacks, and managing ones on energy. Of-course there are many other qualities; so take both. As an expert and veteran fighter I always advice Martial Artist to master at least to contrasting styles, like Kung Fu and Judo or Karate and Tai Chi, etc.

  • FATALITY !!

  • I've been doing Tai Chi for years but have never used it to fight. None the less, I think if I ever had to I am conditioned enough to defend myself.

  • He is a great martial artist. He knows his stuff.

  • Unlike most Tai Chi Practioners who believe the power comes within. Master Wong is a guy that believes in the true powers of the style as in speed, strength and technique. He knows that being slightly angry makes him that bit more vicious and strong and this applies to Tai Chi. All them teachers that say "oh to be good you have to believe in your inner power and bring it out." They havent been in a bar fight. Master Wong is a true trainer.

  • @doow90 Totally! Training with a calm mind only helps to keep the anger from blinding you. Doesn't mean to be soft, but to be more like a whip.

  • Seems like a pretty angry tai chi practitioner.

  • actually those sort of techniques look pretty intresting.

  • Tai chi will improve you martial arts skill

  • wich song is it

  • I am

  • hm...hm...hm...hmmm...

  • i love this kind of martial art

  • @TheMartialartsJedi awesome.... i still havent started yet, but i been doing a shit-ton of reading on tai-chi...

  • i wanto learn tai chi... i had no clue self defense was part of it... im starting tomrrow i swear soo fuckin cool

  • if this aint for the streets i don't know what is? i thought aikido was cool.

  • i didn't know they taugh all that in tai chi?

  • @chebf1231

Chen Tai Chi teaches you self defense and much more but unfortunately this guy is not applying Tai Chi principles. He may have some form of Kung Fu training and try to claim this is Tai Chi. He is way too hard to be Tai Chi.

  • @munchichi8, Cover his mean face up and watch the video again. He is plenty calm and relaxed, he is just moving in a realistic speed.

  • I'm a BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU blue belt, and I like this guy. I studied Wu Hao style Taijiquan and Northern Long Fist Kungfu for 6 years, and had to try to figure out applications on my own. I finally got fed up and went to BJJ to find something less ambiguous. I was surprised to see how useful the skills I picked up from push hands and chi na training during by Kungfu days, and how the listening skills made me a menace on the mat early on, and still help me today. BRAVO, Sifu Wong!

  • I like his Chin Na and Slant Flying apps!

  • i can see tai chi chin na.

  • I love this fucking guy, he's the shit

  • I love how overly violent he is, i'm surprised he's never been a bad guy in any Kung Fu movies, screw Carter Wong or Hwang Jang Lee, this guy is brutal!

  • Mr. Wong in one statement: =

'To do dis pa'chicula moo'men you mus do de wok to understan and bust his fucken head so he cnt hit his mom and cry his eyeball out like 'eee! aaah! im a big baby!"

  • Love the self defence where he begins by pushing his assailant. Good techniques but if you want to remain good by the law you can tempt them to hit you but you can't hit them first.

  • That is not exactly an opening move. It was not studied in a combo. If you are in the middle of a fight that you did not start and you want to grab the guy or push him, he will not just let you. If he trys to stop you, this is the next move. The study of martial arts is like studying chess. Anyone can learn a single move but only a master can put them together in the way that is most effective.

  • You have that little stopping point at the end of each ''technique''. That means that you are stopping some power instead of just continue it.

  • Song of the vid?

    Thx.

  • Dude looks so serious "Attack me and I'll show you my serious face". But does this give a realistic view of taichi?

  • Talkimg of realistic taiji was developed for combat & used for fighting, have you ever had a fight? If so what does your face look like? I am not saying that one who practise taiji is mean and aggresive but when you are fighting for real you are fierce , if you disagree i then you obviosly havet had to fight for your life before

  • great ill try it on my brother

  • i like those poses at the end of every move. makes him look super bad ass.

  • I like this Master Wong, and i have some of his dvd's. They are helpful to me. I have a saying, better to be tried by 12 that to be carried by 6. If some worthless uneducated rubbish druged up piece of crap tries to kill you, then kill them, do not worry about the law. In that moment of madness, the law will not be there to help you, only your training can help you, and the more you train, the more help you give to yourself. So remember, better to be tried by 12 than to be carried by 6. KILL....

  • good advice macktheknife888,good advice.

  • Laughable. Ten movement knife disarms, I'm sure the guy will stand there waiting for that to happen.

  • man its a demostration of how to do it, he wont broke the neck to his assistant ;D

  • Comment removed

  • It's interesting that the instructor allows the opponent to push or make contact with him before he counterattacks. Not sure that would be a good idea if the attacker had a weapon.

  • Ho-leee crap! This is what a "Dear John" letter from China will do to a Kung Fu Master! In the illustrious words of Omega Prime, "Calm down, Calm down!"

  • @tribexa I couldn't agree more!

  • This guy man he has some skill.

  • Does anyone know a Yang tai chi, tai chi chen, or northern praying mantis trainers in or near St. Petersburg, Florida?

  • I don't know where St, Petersburg is, but Kam Lee has a school in Jacksonville. He is a 20th Generation Successor and Lineage Holder in Chen Style taijiquan.

  • Thanks for the info but unfortunately, I had to move out to California and now i'm in san diego. Any suggestions?

  • Master Asr Cordes is my martial brother and a 20th generation successor to Chen Style as well. He is one of only five disciples to Grandmaster Cheng Jincai, while Master Kam Lee is a disciple to Grandmaster Zhu Tiancai. I know them both personally and they are both very qualified Masters. Last I heard he was also in San Diego, look him up on facebook. He teaches small groups and may be hard to find. Good luck.

  • lol I'm convinced 50% of this guys power comes from his scowl...

  • LOL

  • of course they do, do u really think he would just take someone of the street that he didn't know to do this?

  • Those shoulders attaks are good if you are arrested and hand cuffed. :)

  • i know i wanna learn those shoulder strikes

    so much power from him!

  • HAHAHAH! I love the second move, where a guy bumps into him, he glares at him and fucking shoulders him into the ground! Now if only I could do that everyday in London...

  • I love this guy

  • Okay, so if anyone thinks that Tai Chi (or even Shaolin for that matter) can't be used on the street after this, then they are delusional. A good example of how traditional CMA can be used in any situation.

  • you know what, some martial arts moves are only good for self defence. if someone attacks you, use the self defense form. if someone challenges you to a fight, use the striking form.

  • I prefer,'if someone challanges you to a fight-- say no...' A lot less injuries and vendettas this way. Well... most of the time.

  • well I was thinking about martial arts fighting but if you say so, I agree. martial arts is still fun though, it's good for a sport competition.

  • good! good example of tai chi self defense
