  • I think that Chris Squire is the heart of Yes, the passion is felt.

  • Sounds like the music that would play over a downbeat scene change in "Beverley Hills Cop", or "Another 48 Hours". In a good way, of course!

This is pretty sweet. And builds up fairly nicely.

If you like this, blow your brains out by listening to King Crimson's "Asbury Park Live 1974". Wow. THAT is Bruford on FIRE!!!

  • I'm teaching this song to one of my drum students at the moment....getting them to understand prog didnt start with Dream Theater and Tool LOL.....wish me luck with finishing the chart off before next Monday ;P

  • good luck, he is very lucky to have you as a teacher

  • Bert Overall is a queer fagg

  • i heard this song on madacasar 2

  • I first heard this song on Pandora Radio.. It's amazing.. I love it!

  • Awesome bass solo

  • You could source this better-look up 'you tube stereo sound' in yt or google. You can get tips on presenting this better-since you're not using the video side, the sound could be decent.

  • It's all coming back to me now. Seems like yesterday instead of 25 years ago.

  • Howe and Wakeman allways get to play stuff from their solo CDs live with Yes. This time around (New Yes tour in july 08) it's Squire's turn. They MUST do something from 'Fish out of Water' this time around!

  • Co-signed!!

  • Bruford and Squire. What a pair.

The funkiest 7/4 ever. I love it.

  • @Topographer you're wrong, the song is in 7/8

  • Bruford nearly adds another song on top of it by using the tempo of the keyboard part. If you focus on that, the 7/4 part sounds very free form.

  • anyone know what to do with unplayable lp's? I do. It's awesome.

  • Squire is my fucking hero...

  • Hey anyone find that 'new' CD release with bonus

that was mentioned by enpdllp down there?

Which country did it come out in, I wonder?

  • It is available in the US via amazon and other places. You could also get it directly form Chris Squire's website.

  • tema realmente buenisimo, genial.

  • I was there!!

  • It IS available on CD!..check yer stores. One of the best all-time albums.

  • Love that 7/4 it's my metronome favouraite as a drummer can't stop snapping that left hand because of my other rythm man and the intertwining sax just excelence personified what can I say. Van the drummer in Shanghai...thanx utube

  • Ja, ja, ja. Pero igual gracias

  • i bought this album around 79 or 80....in hi school. LOVED it to death. Miss it. But i bought it used. Now that it's reissued on CD...i suppose i can get it again, but redeem myself for having deprived squire of the royalties the first time around!!!

  • Its Lucky7 that sux you in,

after years your begin to hear , that its hold out your hand, and you by my side."what it's all about",

and save us great Knight' if you get it ! Nub.

  • Co-signed!!

  • Finally a 70s Yes 2-DVD set!

Many regard Live at Queens Park Rangers Stadium, 1975 as even better than Yessongs. Unbelievably it's one of the hardest videos to get. Not anymore, now the MASSES of Yes fans can have easy access to this concert by checking out our new 2DVD set - Yes A Celebration, 1969-1979. It features many Yes videos from the 70s as well as Live at QPR 1975 with improved audio. Click on my profile for clips

  • Agreed. I bought this on LP and CD about 10 years ago in a little underground music shop here in Denver. AWESOME album!

  • Wrong. This has been on cd for years I bought it back in the late 80's. It is being re released remastered and with a bonus cd in August.

  • Two weeks ago i finally heard this album and it's amazing! Chris definitly is my favorite... and he became more special since i've heard "It's love", from "The Word is live". Hearing they going crazy under Chris' command was terrific!

  • I SAW THEM DO THIS

  • I've never understood why Yes didn't incorporate any of these songs into their set. This album was (and is) one of the great solo outings of all time. Great writing, strong melodies (with the bass carrying the load!) and amazing vocals. I got it when it came out...gave me chills then and still does.

  • where's the picture?!!

  • I've always loved Fish Out of Water. But you would expect to see a picture; otherwise, why is it called a "video?"

  • It will br re-released in 25th june! i saw on yesworld last week. Thanks!

  • that would be nice, i've been trying to find it for 20years or so...

  • i like the song! Thanks for posting, 'cause it very hard to find the CD!

  • - I think he is about to re-release it -

  • There is no CD actually, it's only been available on LP for the past 31 years. However, it will be given a CD release soon, finally! Also, according to Chris himself, he's going to release another solo album I think.

  • The first CD release for Fish Out of the Water was in Japan in 25 February 1990.

A few other import releases have been done in recent years and a domestic one (Wounded Bird Records) back in 28 February 2006.

A new version with a bonus CD was released a few weeks ago.

  • 1990??

    Try 1975

  • hedkace:

If you carefully read my post you will notice that I am talking about the release of Fish Out of the Water on CD, not the album (Vinyl).

  • Ah, I see. So then that of course, means it was never given a release on CD in the UK until now? (Because I'm sure I heard Roger Day on that BBC show he has say that there wasn't a CD release yet or something like that?)

  • WEA International released Fish Out of the Water on CD in 22 September 1998 for the European market.

  • I had the Japan release, but it was stolen. Hope they enjoyed it!! LOL
