  • what monitor did u hv cuz i installed ipc 10.5.2 and upgraded to 10.5.8 and both the resolution was bad and things were distorted and blurry. is it my graphics card or monitor or do i have to enable or disable quartz extreme?

  • I don't think the monitor is the problem. If you use a nvidia graphics card, remove any graphics related kexts and try using efi strings. Have no idea on how to do it with ATI though. =\

  • im tryin to run iatkos v7, it installed great but on the first boot up it boots into a light blue screen and stays their whats is the fix for this?

  • @rcoffie search for a way to remove the video "drivers" you selected during install.

    Or:

Blue screen on bootup - This means that OS X doesn't see your monitor properly or your graphics card isn't working correctly. Reinstall again, but this time make sure you don't select any enablers/efi strings and you might also select the package to remove NVDAResman.kext, these would fix it, then you can login to gui and search drivers for your vga.

  • Hiya im currently trying to hakintosh one of my pc's atm i can get the 10.5.2 but i try the original combo update to get to 10.5.8 but its comes up with kernal panic know i was just woundering how you got it 10.5.8 and what driver did u pick to use your 9800gtx as i ahev a 8800gs which runs on the same chip.

  • You can't update straight to 10.5.8. I went step by step, to get 10.5.3 u can download the "10.5.3 Kalyway Combo Update" and to get from 10.5.3 to 10.5.4 download "Mac OS X 10.5.4 Update"from Apple website. After this point you may follow the guides from ihackintosh(dot)com . And for the graphics card I used EFI strings (OSX86Tools can do that for you).

  • Nice job!

Except for the hard drive, I have the exact same specs and I just downloaded Kalyway 10.5.2 but I can't seem to get the installer started. What do I need to do to my DVD or USB stick to get this working? Any help or a link to whatever instructions you used would be greatly appreciated.

  • The DVD should boot like any other OS install disc. Check if you DVD drive is set as the first boot device. If it is, then check these BIOS settings: bit . ly / 2pM0dY . If all fails signup ate insanelymac . com and check this topic : bit . ly / UTIra . I wish you luck, Leopard is really cool. =D

  • Damn, I tried everything, I think I've narrowed it down to my HD being connected via SATA instead of IDE, cuz I get the "still waiting for root device" error. How was your hd connected? I think I'm gonna give iATKos a shot.

  • My hard drive is SATA as well, but my DVD drive is IDE. but i'm not sure if that affects anything. =\

  • Finally got it installed lol, I used a portable installation. Still cant figure out how to install those damn Ethernet and Video drivers. Any ideas?

  • install nforcelan.kext for network and you can use osx86tools to get the video working.

  • Awesome advice, nforcelan worked right off the bat. I did the string trick after upgrading to 10.5.7 but I had to trick it into using the drivers for the 8800 gt 1gb instead of the 9800 gt 1gb. Thanks a lot, everythings running perfectly now.

  • Congrats then. :D
