Hi brother. Check out my Crane videos. I operate at seat Oakland at night. 8892 local 10. Go to scottbarton100 on YouTube. Check out earliest bids. The Scotty squeeze technique on the earlier videos. I l w u solidarity.
Can anyone that works at a US port get about 4 people a tour of a large container ship?? Like to walk through one that is loaded and one that is unloaded.
@infernodood3 at the top four corners, the containers have holes and the crane has locking mechanisms (pins) that are designed to twist and lock inside the four corners of those containers .
@infernodood3 There are holes in the corners of the container, and locking pins in the beam which lock into them. (sorry, I don't check gmail too often.)
My babe is a long shoreman. Its a good job and the skills that they do is amazing. Thanks babe for this videos giving me the idea on what you do at work.
Wow, like to see video of one, seriously in all the yrs. coming in/out on ships, standing watches I've never seen one. That'd be a bigfoot on tape moment for me.
I'm not sure- it depends on how much you work, I guess. If you google "pma annual report" you might be able to get an idea. The report has lots of statistics on pay and cargo movement numbers and such.
Nicely staggered cell guides. It makes the job so much easier. What's your average hourly box rate? We do 30-40 depending on how crappy the ship is. Do you guys twin lift?
I'd say 30-40 is around our average, too. Most of the newer cranes have twin lift beams, and some of the older ones have been retrofitted. The crane in this video didn't have a twin lift beam when I shot this, but it does now.

You should film the lashers.

I'm in a UTR all the time now, so I don't get the opportunity too much.
devojane 2 years ago
Gotcha....BTW, One thing I've NEVER seen, a female lasher.....'oh that's right, they get a pass.
alohawg 2 years ago
Oh, I've seen them, and lashed with them, and some weren't even useless. Some were, though, and those are sadly the only ones anybody remembers.

I haven't seen one in quite a while, but back when I lashed there were often women lashing with me. Lately, not so much.

I'm a longshoreman in Los Angeles/Long Beach harbor. The night I took this I was a hatch boss but lately I've been driving yard trucks (UTRs).
