Thanks for the review. I'm thinking of buying these speakers. I have an existing harmon/kardon subwoofer, could I incorporate this with the speakers as well for extra bass?
@rick694uk - I would definitely recommend these speakers to anyone, the thing is, if you like lots of bass, then see if you can hook up your Harmon Kardon Subwoofer as well, also, if you do play the Creatives very loud, the sound does distort. But on the plus side, the sound quality is so clear, and has pretty damn good detail, for less than $100 USD.
I bought these for my parents today for 80 bucks. They're small, only two pieces (small table), and hopefully they sound pretty good. I wish more makers would include a switch on speakers so you didn't have to plug/unplug headphones all the time. My Klipsch Promedias have a control tower with such a switch, so I can leave my headphones plugged in all the time. I'm just waiting for that little jack to break first.
I still prefer the first series. I don't know why, but I think the sound is more crisp compared to the second ones. Mine got broken, so I ordered some new ones, but got the Series II (because of unavailablety), so I had the chance to compare. Any idea where I could buy the original ones (with delivery to Germany)?
And they are Dual glass woven cone's with silk dome tweeters ..they also have a separate amplifier for the right and left speakers and are seriously overpowered that's why they sound so bright. don't expect booming bass from these babys but expect 3D sound in so many layers.get a sub later ....but I don't thing u will...:-) hahaha!
That Model of the t20 Series. Are defective product And they release new ones that look like a t 40. Not hating! Just educating.I have the new t20 and t40 thay are by far the best dam speakers I have and I have a 1900. Watt system!!! Just love the sound thay produce.o ya I made a video about my setup check it out!! I rated ^
They just came in. Box does say 22 watts RMS, but the manual says 28 watts RMS and websites also state 28 watts RMS. These things can put out a ton of bass for their size but I find myself adjusting my EQ and bass/treble knobs quite often with these speakers. Some songs have too much bass, others have too little bass; they also have some strange port noise at higher volumes, but they otherwise sound clearer and 'heavier' than my MX5020's. :)
I plan on replacing my old Altec Lansing MX5020 2.0 speakers with these. They just don't sound as good as they used to; sound crackles now and then at high volumes and the bass is really lacking; they were bought on clearance for $30 (MSRP'd at $100?!) At 12 watts total RMS I think the T20's are going to sound a heck of a lot better seeing as their speakers have more than 2x the total RMS output.
Hi Lawrence! I was thinking of building sort of a small and portable boombox look a like a, but instead of building from scratch I thought that I'd just buy some 2.0 speakers and connect them to a battery. So, do you think that these speakers could deliver enough sound or should I go with something a bit bigger, perhaps T40?
mate... there shit... go to an audio shop and try the speakers there. Then you'll know what good sound is. And yes, they will sell desktop speakers that are that size.
A proper audiophile shop will allow you to try all the sound systems out before you buy, so take ur ipod and kick loose.
@DoraTheExplorerizer These speaker are excellent! They got audiophile like sound but they wont deliver serious sound level. DiraTheExokiruezer Keep your junk pc computer speakers for yourself.
dude u do know those chinse words on that piece of paper actually mean , please wash your hand and sink in the kitchen , white people are so funny lol
Only thing im worrying about these or actually the Series II version is the amount of bass. Im not sure if it has enough bass. If you turn the bass to maximum is it enough for dance/trance with lots of bass? Im probably buying these soon. Is there any other 2.0/2.1 set that you would recommend over these?
suckiest thing ever... there bigger than they need to be for that speakers. and they are expansive like hell to. i found the 8" version of that speakers for like 10$ each
@Jeuxtesblier Apparently yes, the glossy black faceplate, the new blue glow around the volume knob instead of the led, the buttons are gold plated... it is all aesthetical.
They are really good sound, 1.30 eighty era, yes BassXPort technology from 80's era, Sharp TV in late 80's have BassXPort in they are TV, and now they are no rom for BassXPort because too slim (LCD TV, Plasma TV).
I like them. They really sound good. I don't use any DSP on my media player. I tried but it sounds weird if you ask me. The bass in the middle and the treble a bit higher sounds really good to me.
No way dude these are not better than any krk monitor. Ive owned both, krk is in a whole different category. But t20's are probably the one of the most accurate pc speakers
well the Creatives deliver more balance audio. It really just depends if you have room for Subwoofer or not. I'd prefer the Creative Gigaworks T40 due to the extra mid bass driver
im really impressed with mine..i have the black ones with the light backlighting the volume nob instaid of the led....the only things is with the model u have with the led soetimes it annoys u because its soooo bright....but amazing sound
Wow they look kinda big! (unless you have tiny hands) I'm getting the T40's this weekend, they must be like mongo huge! Yikes! O.o How much do those weigh?
hi, i need two new speakers, and i was considering these. they need to have a nice tweeter, i'm not worried about the bass cause i already have subwoofer. so my question is: do you recommend these based on the quality of the 'sound'/ the highs?
1) What's the name of the song that plays at roughly 3:00? :p
2) Are these speakers overall of higher quality than the Logitech Z Cinema? Do you have both, or can't you anser this?
3) Are these ideal for gaming? Or do you think the Z Cinema would provide better sound for games ( it has a special onboard audio controller, so no sound card is required)
The name of the Song is Weekend Clubmix) By Scooter.
The Creatives have better bass response than the Z Cinema. I've heard the Z- Cinema the t20's sound better for music movies and games.
But if you are limited to space then buy the T20's. If you have the space buy the Logitech z-2300 (which i also have).if you want room shaking bass. Usually with a subwoofer you get better bass response but the T20s produce good Highs and Mids.
But I think you forgot to finish a sentence. Quote:
"I've heard the Z-Cinema (...) [the20's sound better for music and games]"
So did you mean to say the T20's are indeed better for gaming etc? So the overal quality is better? If so, I'd rather have better quality then better bass response of the new T20's.
It's not that I have no place for a subwoofer, but I prefer a quality 2.0 setup.
Also, I'd technically need to buy a good sound card for the T20's to be able to use them to their full potential, I suppose?
In other words, would it result in a better setup if combined with a quality sound card, instead of the Z-Cinema with the integrated sound chipset? I've heard that the Z-Cinema shoudl generally speaking be the better choice.
well to gain its full potential its recommended you buy a creative sound card that's if you don't have a HD Sound Card. The T20 has treble and bass controls so you can easily tune the sound to your liking.. Most of the Logitech products do not have treble controls. It does make a big difference in sound reproduction .
supposedly the Creative X-Fi series is considered the best sound card.. If you have any PCI express slots open that is. i mainly use my laptop for my speakers which already have HD Audio on board.
i have this t20 , its incredible LOUD!

These are really good pair of speakers.
More than sufficient for a room-size up to 20sqm.
The bass is enjoying, not muddy, like in the case of dedicated bass-solution, but neither too powerful as in the case of dedicated bass-solution.
What I love in music, is the melody and vocals, and these sound super-great on Gigaworks T20.
Worth every damn penny, price was 79euro.
Tip: get some DSP-effect on your mp3 files, like quality convolution-reverberation... your music will sound top !
