I love Mulate's I eat there every time i visit New Orleans! Reasons - other than the great food - that I love this place are because of it authenticity and it's music.
this was so fun and brought back wonderful memories of my time working briefly on assignment in N.O. So glad to see that Mulate's is still there after Katrina; loved that place. Also used to go to Michaud's also. I smiled the whole way through. thanks for posting.
The best one to see is the children dancing!!!! The best, to wittness a father dance with his little girl on his feet and the mother dance two step with her son, The little girl dance as a PRICESS and the Boy STRIDE as a MAN and you see his pride. Is heart crushing.
Hey hon, this is coming from a full blooded Cajun from Lafayette. Forget what these other people say. You're dancing is "Cajun" as long as your having fun, which you clearly are.
My wife are from Michigan and we were married in 1994 in New Orlean's on the Creole Queen,. The captain married us and then a dinner cruise was after. We did end up hitting Mulates while we were there. The consierge at the Hilton gave a us a good tip where to eat and she was right. The food and music was awesome. One of the best times of my life.
Amen.! that is NOT how my maw maw danced at Freds Lounge , nor is it how she danced to Aldus Roger and the Lafayette Playboys on KLFY.........nor is it how I dance......either learn it right or call it something else cause it aint cajun cher ....
I used to dance the Cajun two step; I now dance the Cajun FOUR step (two feet, two crutches)! LOL I used to Cajun dance; now my arthritis won't let me. (DARN!!) But I still dance in my head, still love the Cajun music! AAAIEE!! GREAT VID!
My wife and I went to N.O. in 2003 and we went to Mulates for diner the first night and fell in love with cajun music and cajun food .We will keep in our hearts forever the cajun people and that beautiful music
The lady in the video was celebrating her 25th. wedding years of marriage . She was a former Sinton,Tejas resident . She felt down because of her sandels . She is a nice Soul .

This is CAJUN music, NOT zydeco! And this is NOT Two-step! It's a recklace Cajun Jig...
Good music, dancing... not so much.
Bayoudancer 2 years ago
agree with you bayoudancer that is not the two-step. People try to teach other cajun dance and sometimes they don't know the difference themselves
