  • i like this video..its true and the tone is very nice. ok

  • Hi rotren.. I know this video is old.. but I'm planning to purchase a Digitech Bad Monkey... would you recommend it? thanks!

  • @lowfatberryblue Sure, I still like it.

  • is that Bill Gates?

  • Cool tones

  • wow that the sound i 'm looking for i want one let check with guitar had it..

  • i love when people play squiers and a bad monkey, shows you don't need to spend thousands and thousands of dollars for a good tone

  • Great demo! I just got one of these pedals and I'm playing it with a custom-made Strat into a Fender Super Champ XD amp (clean channel). The tone is absolutely beautiful - it cleans up well using the volume knob and the Bad Monkey adds just the right amount of gain/boost without robbing my tone. I do mostly blues and country but this will get you that SRV-reminiscent tone if you couple it with single coils and a tube amp. Highly recommended pedal.

  • @beantowntwanger you sold me I love the sound of SRV .

  • got one used for 15 bucks at guitar center. hell yes

  • haha yea. im his youngest son lol. but hes been looking for a good over drive tone. and soo have i.

  • please make a video with your vox and this pedal

  • hey man your tone is great. i play with merle haggard n i was just exploring diff tones n i was wondering if u could tell what ur using.

  • You play with merle haggard? Damn.

  • Can I swear on YouTube?? Because pardon my french but that was fucking awesome!!! That is the exact sort of music that I aspire to learn. Great tone.

  • that was some awsome playing!

  • The bad monkey is really good. I've got Bad Monkey, Vox Big Ben Od, Xotic BB Preamp, Marshall BB2, and at least 10 other od's. The BM works in any setting

  • does this generate much noise? I've got a Boss SD1, tone isn't bad but if you run it at high output or high gain levels it sounds ridiculously noisy. looking for an alternative.

  • good sir, would you agree that the bad monkey is worth its price. i run mine through a jtm45 and wow!

  • can i used this with the MG seriesdfx 30 watt? would it sound good?

  • Not as good as a valve amp, plus doesnt the MG have enough gain?

  • it has a good gain but im looking for a pedal that would sound like audioslave! im gonna use it in a band competition and i couldn't just bring my amp on the stage. do you think this pedal would be a good match for such genre?

  • Dude, im not the kinda guy to ask about audio slave but i would say your amps distortion would do the job.

  • Have you had the competition yet? If so, how did it go? I saw a Guitar Center guitarist competition once, and the best dude there just plugged straight into his amp. But if you want seriously heavy distortion, an overdrive pedal is not the way to go, they are more designed to push a tube amp into distorting, and adding a little bit of dirt also...unless you stomp 2 od at the same time...that can get pretty heavy.

  • yep dude and our band became a winner!, i bought a cheap but good distortion it may surprise you. it's an artec crazy metal and im satisfied with the tone.. thanks for the advice,

  • It's a tube overdrive pedal, it doesn't suit your situation at all. Your best place to start would be to get a new amp

  • That's a bit unrealistic. I think Audioslave tone can be accomplished on an MG30. OD pedals typically won't make the sound heavy enough, gotta go with a distortion box or maybe a radical fuzz or a mix of distortion and fuzz.

  • FINALLY, I found someone playing the bad monkey who can actually play guitar. Not like the cat who yells the whole time!!

  • Everything sounds great through your HELLHOUND amp, Robert!

  • for blues and rock'roll, are bad monkey and hot head great? after this 2 pedals i wish buy an axis fuzz clone too.

  • wich are the settings... is the amp clean? or dirty?

  • Great tone and great playing. Nice demo!

  • I love those reviews

  • Nice tone, what amp are you running the BM through?

  • Hellhound

  • lol BM = bowel movement

  • that is a bad assumption. will the pedal make you sound like a tube amp no, but it doesn't suck your tone either. just make sure you use the clean channel.

  • i already have a boss ds-1 distortion but it doesn't have enought of a rock tone... if i got this pedal would i need to use the distortion pedal anymore, or would this give me a good overdrive and distortion tone on its own?

  • the bad monkey really doesnt distort your sound as much as it boost your signal. if you have a tube amp the bad monkey is a good pedal. a bad monkey w/ a solid state isnt the same

  • i use my bad monkey with a 5w fender champion 600 all tube amp and it sounds amazing with my strat. I also use it on the clean channel with my frontman 25r soildstate, and it has a great sound too.

  • This looks like Phil the life coach that worked with metallica

  • I love your tone. That tele sounds really fat. I'm trying to decide- TS9 or Bad Monkey? do you have an opinion?

  • Bad Monkey, bro

  • yes the Bad Monkey is amazing ^_^

  • I Dunno man, it depends, I got both. I use my badmonkey for a booster, and the tone is more controlable, since it has high and low settings. The ts9 on the otherhand, has only 1 tone setting, and I use it just by itself. They both can give off a nice punk tone, but I don't know which one to put over the other, they're both great.

  • How is the pedal with regular open chords? Muddy? Awesome? I'm trying it out this Friday, can't wait

  • Close to awesome.

  • what settings are you using for your Bad Monkey, sir?

  • Sorry, can't remember.

  • you are a tremendous guitar player you really make your set up shine

  • Thanks a lot! Glad you like it!

  • nice sound. gotta get that pedal!!!

  • yeah i have a digitech hothead that blows my boss pedals away a million times over, gonna get the bad monkey next.

  • i really can't thank you enough -- when I though I couldn't find the tone i was looking for you helped me find it...thanks!

  • cool! i just bought a bad monkey yesterday. it has a real nice blues and rock tone in it. i like it

  • I just bought one. They are cool pedals. I prefer em over TS9's because you can adjust the EQ so it sort of doubles as a Treblebooster. Your BM does look really bright compared to mine though... kinda like a TS9.

  • where can a get a 19 sixty 3 boost pedal??? arg looked evrywhere its just what i need!!!!

  • w w w . gtrwrks . c o m

  • I LOVE my Bad Monkey pedal - just might be Digitech's best stompbox.

  • your amazing, post some more videos man

  • GREAT TONE!!! Classic!! Hard to believe it's a Tele it sounds so phat!!!

  • Robert, now you need another dvd of riffs made available to us. keep up the jams, carp3nt3r.

  • awesome robert !!
