So much nostalgia here in just the sounds alone. I've had Windows 3.1, 95, 98, 98 se, ME, XP, and now I'm finally running 7. As much as I love the sounds from the past. What I really love is the memories they bring back. Stuff like the old DOS games I played like Contraption Zack, Monster Bash, Jill of the jungle, and the list goes on.

I recall there was an early version to Windows xp media centre edition. You also forgot windows blackcomb "Vienna" which ended up as windows 7 and Microsoft Windows .NET Server 2003.

Thanks for memories, don't care how well windows 7 now looks or works, can't beat the older OS, especially some of the looks from beta Microsoft OSes that were never released.

BTW, whistler came before XP as it was the beta to XP...Prefer the feel of whistler over XP before it was made into XP

Do you know what I really miss? Maybe it sounds silly, but it's true: I miss the "start" Text on the Start Button. Since Windows Vista there is only the Windows button, but no "start" Text. Vista have looked cool if it looked like "Windows Vista Beta 1".
