Thank you for this! My boyfriend is Filipino and he loves this recipe. We had it at a family's home once and I've been wanting to find a recipe ever since.
I will make this at my next party. It reminds me of suman or bibingka. I am a Filipina in Hawaii (born/ raised) but don't know how to cook a lot of Filipino dishes. I want to learn more Filipino culture. I hope mine comes out as good as yours.
nag uumpisa palang po ako magluto,. i admit wala ako alam sa pagluluto pero thanks to you now i know... pa request din ng gravy sause please...thank you! keep a good work!
4 cups of coconut milk is too much for me... i will try to do this again next time with 3 1/2 cups.... and the recipe should specify to use DARK BROWN SUGAR or MUSCOVADO sugar... and 1 2/3 cups of sugar is enough... too sweet for 2cups... but in general, this recipe is very easy.. thanks for this...
you can buy malagkit rice at wallmart...yong may halong luya tawag nun puto maya, ang biko iba walang luya...thanks sa walang sawang pag up load kababayan.
mas masarap biko namin dito..hehe as in pinapa oil talaga namin ang gata tapos lalabas na yung pang toppings..tas kukunin yun i-set aside..then ilagay na ang brown sugar sa oil ng gata..tapos pagsticky na, ilagay na ang malagkit (rice) tapos stir to the max ka..pwee rin nga lagyan ng lemon skin para mabango..ang iba luya pero mas prefer ko yong sa lemon.. yan version namin dito mindanao.. :)
I made this recipe two weeks ago and my family and friends loved it!! It's the Best!! I didn't know it's so easy to make. Thanks a lot panlasang pinoy!!
easy lang pala..kase nung bata pa ako my mom cooked biko it seems so hard and difficult to cook... she usually mix it with a little bit of ginger and anis seed pang kontra daw sa mahilab na lasa nito :)
@Hizelmaychie -na-try nyo na po ba? kasi na try ko po exactly same as what he did, okay naman po. masarap-sinerve ko sa south african kong kasamahan sa work and they love it, infact they asked for the ingredients and one of them tried to cook it and it realy taste good.-thanks
my wife just cooked her first biko, haven't tried it yet but smells sooooo gooood. she also tried using 2nd piga for steaming the sticky rice but your approach is her basis.. just for thoughts. tnx a bunch!
Thank you, I have been looking for this Biko for a long time. As a kid I would get this when I went to some Filipino gatherings and now, I can make some.
But anyway, mas magaling ka talagang magluto Dear. God Bless you and your family.
hi, i used black rice but I was worried, too dark, i may sound stupid pero safe ba yung natural color? if not then is there a way to lessen the color? you are right the taste is much better but the color quiet bother me

Malaking Thank you talaga sa
iyong blog and video. Dahil dito mga
Pinoy food cravings ay nasa-satisfy around the globe :).
c. o pareho (malagkit na sinaing or nilulutong gata)
Salamat and more power sa Panlasang Pinoy!!!
