I remember the first time I took the maglev. I thought the controls were really clever - if you want yo go back you swing the big lever back to the left and flip the small one forward again.
Then I saw the controls reset upon arrival and was disappointed.
@Tittlekopf Dreading it is more like it. :S Riven makes it so that I have to put my computer into stand-by and back every time I want to change the disk! It's SUCH a pain!
So how many of you have played Myst III Exile, Myst IV Revelation and Myst V End of Ages? I didn't realise 4 and 5 were available until just before christmas, so am in the process of playing them. Awesome.
Oh and Im not telking virtual rides either. Im talking the real thing, real tracks over the ocean from island to island. I really dont like virtual rides. I know theyre cheaper for the company but they make me sick and theyre not realistic enough.
Could you imagine a MYST and Riven theme park!?!?! That would be the best theme park ever! That is, as long as they would limit capacity so it doesnt get overcrowded like other theme parks. Overcrowding takes all the fun out.
It's odd how much a single tribe with a crazy megalomaniac leading them could build in the time he was there... even if he was slowly DESTROYING their civilization by being a self-proclaimed 'god'.
Maglev trams like this (if more spacious) could make a nice form of public transportaion in the future-but we'd have to get rid of that puke-engine on top first and replace it with something greener, if you know what I mean.
Mag Lev trains would be excellent because the frictionless track would allow for incredibly fast speeds.
As for puke engines and "green", it sounds like you have been suckered by the "global warming" scam. Google Climategate, discover global warming is a huge con sponsored by BigOil to switch agriculture to producing biofuels, thanks to which world food prices have doubled in the last two years, leading to mass starvation in Africa.
@Palfium66 global warming paid by big oil? so what, oil companies paid 84% of scientists to think that the earth is warming due to human activity (pew research center poll, 2009) so that people would buy less gasoline, which would somehow make money for oil companies? by the way, the U.S. is like the only country in the world that didn't sign the kyoto protocol. While the rest of the world is debating on how best to deal with climate change, we're still fucking arguing about if it's even REAL
I never rly played myst but i remmember seeing my brother playing it after he stole it from my dad.i never knew he stole it and it was originaly my dads until i asked my dad.
Riven is a rare example of when a sequel manages to be better than the original! I remember when I first figured this out with my dad and it was tremendous fun I would ride them back and forth.
I repeat, the next video I plan to make is from an old Riven-like game, but uses the MagLev animation here in this video. Still, watching it turn around is hardest, but its flight is easiest because there's a file like that. How can I do it?
Goodness, I LOVE these things. My stomach always bounced at that one part. If I didn't have to keep removing the discs I probably would have rode around in these all day.
Beautiful! I wish there's a coastal coaster (Pfft coastal coaster ref) in real life. That would've been amazing to travel to island to island like that. :)
that's the best ride in the game. I don't get why Gehn HAD to build the wood cart thing (from Jungle island to crater island) under water. I guess it makes it cooler, but still...
I used to solve puzzles like you, then I took an arrow in D'ni (I'm so very sorry for this one)

Butterflies at 0:17 ! Sometimes I get lonesome for Riven , and I wanna cry a little . It's not a real place , but I miss it as though I was there .

This is my favorite Mag-Lev ride in this game! My dad used to tilt the computer chair to mimic the movements of the Mag-Lev, it was so fun! :D
