  • This really doesn't sound like London's speaking voice. It was considerably lower than what one hears here.

    .

  • @crusicka Well Peerce sounds exactly as he should; speed isn't off or anything.

  • it really is strange to hear the speaking voices. I think the difference between a baritone and a tenor is when they take that low breath to sing that's when that extra chest resonance comes out.

  • Yes in fact I just listened to a Tucker/ Merrill interview from Chicago in 1973 posted by vinyltovideo also and Tucker's voice speaking was actually as deep as Jan's but then in 73 Merrill was older and his voice slightly deeper then here but I knew Peerce very well and had dinner and even breakfast with him several times and this is accurate as far as how he sounded so the speed is correct. He took very good care of his health, diet etc. and lasted till 80 years without a health club!

  • Yes and Corelli had a very high small speaking voice , Tucker's was almost as low as Peerce's. Guess it means nothing.

  • Thanks for this and great sound, Resnick always has something good to say in interviews, nice to hear London speak, almost a tenor like speaking voice.

  • Hmm.. Peerce has a lower speaking voice than London.

  • Interestingly, Peerce sang Tevye in "Fiddler on the Roof" on Broadway in the 70s. Tevye is a bass-baritone role! That lower voice probably gave him some flexibility.
