I know that this is probably a dumb question but...I am looking at buying the v-amp pro. How did you get this sound out of it, exactly? i've tried playing on them a couple times and never got anyting that sounded this good before.
Okay there are a TON of metal bands that play standard and E flat tuning. If all you ever listen to is in Drop A then you really need to broaden your musical horizons. Even Drop Tuned metal needs mids. Otherwise your playing your guitar as if it was a bass. I'm sure the bass can do better.
Live that tone would be a muddy sucky mess. Don't believe me? Try it out. Well doubt you have a band so you cant do that but jam to a recording with that tone. Bet you cant hear yourself without turning wayyy up. Guitar = midrange instrument even if its detuned its dominate in the midrange. Scooping the mids and goosing the bass creates a muddy loose messy tone. No punch no grind, nothing but mush.
okay u may be right but u dont have to dis his sound because you dont like it plenty of people like this and most metal is in A and B and i said for the most part its highest is D not always and i have no mids in my playing its a prefered sound so if u dont like it dont trash it b/c many ppl do like it. the point of this was to be low not high thts his choice and i listen to MANY different styles of music i just prefer low tuned slow riffs. thts why im maggot for a slipknot fan.
what the fuck are you on about? metal can be where ever the hell it wants tuning wise ever heard of sylosis everything in E only down side to this vid is he's a bit sloppy
Qwerty is right. It sounds good on it'sown but in a BAND situation, it would only serve to muddy things up. The bass needs to be turned down substantially - and you would STILL get a bad ass tone.
i have this spider 3 amp 30 watts i want something for extra gain so is this good for that purpose apart from recording in which this thing is just insane!
Yes it does but in the crunch channel the gain is not enough to nail a jimmy page type of tone u know its good for the rhythm but not for lead and i usually play metal for which the line 6 spider is the best practice amp in that price!
try to switch your amp to L2 config, check out my fade to black and master of puppets cover (the newest cause my oldest covers are in L1 config), and see ;)
i modified the cab settings by holding b and d simutaneously, i used the first distortion setting, adusted the eq as follows, lows at about 5 mids at 10 and highs at 3. than go back to the setting and turn up presance....one thing that helps too is if you put a boss ds1 pedal between the guitar and the v-amp
Using the FC1010 with this unit you only have to move the expression pedal to activate the wah, to deactivate it, you have to press the patch button again
BEHRINGER WILL KICK LINE ^ PRUCTS TO THE CURB,EVEN the Super Duper BOGNER MODDED CRAP,just A Bogner amp w/ LINE EFFECTS,SAME OLD THIN,Impossible to tweak a decent user patch,Product!
BEHRINGER and BUGERA RULE,just got my BUGERA 6262 Yesterday,VERY COOL!!LINE 6 SUX!I know I've GOTEN RID of A FEW of MY OWN!!
well I simply can't use the same EQ that I'd use with a band when playing solo. If I remove the bass while I play solo it will sound weak. If I have to mix the sound with a band it's a different story.
this tone is the same of Belzebos from Tenacious D

Every guitar is the same forget brand names.
raynod256 9 months ago
It's a preset, may be between bank 10 and 14, preset A or B. If you can't get that tone may be that unit is using a wrong mode.
There are different modes for different recording or live needs. Some modes disable the cabinet emulator and the sound will change a lot.
To change the mode you need to press "config" (D+E) and then use the arrows.
Anyway, check the comments for the convenience to use that low range in a band situation.

awful awful tone... way too much bass, very muddy it would never cut through a live or recorded mix well.
Leave the bass frequencies to the... umm Bass player!!!!
qwertyofasdf 2 years ago
thts kinda hard considering the highest most metal goes is a D drop most is played in a B or an A to get the low sound. So its on purpose.

you have high gain emulations, for example think in mesa boogie and marshall emulations

I think the v-amp sounds muddy and loose... and the delay of preset switching isn't a good selling point either.
deathgrind1 4 years ago
I think it's just a matter of taste. There is a lot of possible distorsions with this unit. A tube amp will retrict me to just one.
fcatrin 4 years ago
Maybe just the taste, but the distortio is so...Booring...
Maybe you should try to buy a tube amp :P
