Great idea. Many people either do not prepare, or they only prepare for end of the world situations. There are so many things between there that can happen, and most likely will at some point in your life. You are getting so many good kits though that you may need to start labeling. I keep a kit like that in my car, since if I have to leave the house suddenly it is already out there.
my family doesent relly have a get out bag because we live in the country but we do have a tornato tub with some food and other stuff and its much larger than yours because its for a family of 6
That's a pretty well stocked GOH bag. One thing I would suggest is at least one change of clothes, if nothing else....skivvies and socks.....LOL. Thanks again for the shout-out and I wish ya luck in the contest. Take Care my friend :-))
A change of clothes and some cash(if you can spare it) or a credit card. I had coworkers (husband&wife) that lost everything because the fire woke them at 3am and they ran out with what they had on, no money,no ID,no car keys and PJs is all they had until the fire got put out. If you live in apartments your place could be the last one they put out and you will need ID,car keys and money to start rebuilding your life. Great video and the flash drive is smart,I will have to add that to my go bag.
@mrtlsimon I'm running out of room for a lot of clothing, but I have considered extra socks and underwear. Cash is good. I don't use credit cards. I completely forgot about extra keys, that's on my list for sure.
@GunsKnivesSurvival I understand not having credit cards,maybe you could have a prepaid card for emergency.I have a gym bag that I keep in the trunk with just sweats for the gym,but I replace them everyday.I hope that I will never need them for anything but the gym.
@GunsKnivesSurvival it's because of the music; there is an institution here in germany (GEMA) which blocks a big amount of videos containing music :( there are add-ons to outrun the block, but they don't always work...
Keep an eye on the Chem Sticks, they only have a life span of 1 to 2 years (most store types). A candle lantern can go a long way in a crisis. The bandana is good but the much larger "Shemagh" type rap can cover your shoulders in the cold & make better medical slings, etc. A reflective vest can pack small and help your family rally to your location in an emergency.
Excellent ideas... I really need to get my docs scanned and loaded on a jump drive... thanks for the reminder! I'm definately going to add a flat pry bar to my bag as well.. I hadn't thought of that for a bag but I always have tools in my truck.
How's the CC going ? Does it seem like less people are imaginarily staring at you yet ? lol
@jimrbsn Concealed carry is going well. Much more comfortable now...But I think I did get spotted for real. I'm going to make a CCW update video about this.
A well done video. Excellent visual imagery for the comments made with the VO. The fire story hit home for me as well. Only several weeks ago, my neighbor straight across from my home had a fire. Thankfully, no real danger to my home, but it did cross my mind. One thing I learned most from this vid is the personal data in duplicate. This is unique and wise. LIked.
@1IdeaAhead my fav tool in this reguard is the Stanly "FUBAR"...search "IST Tactical", he has a vid on a modification to it that makes it a fantastic budget breaching/escape tool
@CPLBSS88 I'll check it out, I remember Patriot36 did a vid a year ago titled: "Urban Primary Tool UPT (Overview)" and compares many of them. Might be worth the look.
@1IdeaAhead thanks for the heads up...shoot straight and God bless. O and i almost forgot the 3-in-1 camp hatchet...remember those? I cant find one local but they are online for less than $10...its the hatchet/hammer/pry bar jobber...seems like it would be an ideal urban escape tool.
@CPLBSS88 I searched it and found a "Box Hatchet" which were used used by the British to open tea crates, go figure. Defiantly a tool to pick up, thanks!
You might also want to consider a flashlight or head lamp.
Usp45jb 2 weeks ago
@Usp45jb There's a flashlight at 03:38. A headlamp would be a good addition.
