I think that nearly extinct would be a better phrase, as except for the Gender clinics/centres in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne (Monash) theres very little support for TG people. Even then, the resources at those facilities are extremely limited and are mostly restricted to people within the metropolitan area. I was turned away from the youth program at "The Gender Centre" in Sydney because I study and live at a rural University. It sucks when you go asking for help and get shunned or worse.

Happy New Year Charlotte. Thanks for the inside scoop on First Event. My wife and I were considering going this year, but decided to use our vacation days on a Christmas trip to Europe. (It was an awesome trip btw). So, now we are thinking about First Event 2010 if the money situation is good.

I'm working Friday, but I plan on being there for the weekend. I wish I could be there for the whole event, but I don't want to use up all my vacation time. It should be fun and informative, and meeting lots of people will be awesome. The only thing that could mess things up is if we have another big snow storm, and travel becomes a nightmare, but what are the odds of that? :-p
