While I agree on "can't fix it in the mix (always)" part, I really don't understand this bitching about DAW workflow. Whoever wants to frustrate himself and clients canb go "old school" with tapes and shit, hiss, noise, low quality/resolution audio etc. WTF is wrong with these people ? Time goes on and we can't let music stay in vinyl form.
I am a sound engineer in Barcelona Spain and I can say that the musicians I records get surprised because I look for s good sound from the beginning and they often ask me why can't I fix it later. I say that later I am more limited. the idea is to take it correctly from the beginning. The look at it as a strange thing.
I never say we'll fix it in the mix, I may say from time to time, I'll fix it in post-production. Say for example a drummer plays a part very well but speeds up at one section, I'll just fix that section by moving things and using cross-fades.
i think the character of each sound and the character of the mix as a whole is important. and once you have that feeling, whether its analog or digital, its time to stop.
@vleon1012 Fix it in the marketing lol

@Vanjal why not, vinyl is better than digital sound, if something is good, why change it?

How many engineers does it take to change a light bulb?
3, One to change the light bulb and two to argue how the old one was so much better.

does anybody think that people will accept and consume music with no organic performance?

I would actually prefer to listen to electronic music. It doesn't bother me where it came from or how it was made, it matters how good it sounds
