Thanks, econo, someday i would like to raise pigs myself. You have taught me a little bit.

Do your pigs ever get out? Do you have secondary fencing? How do you get them to market/butcher.

What kind of fencing do you use?

We have movable electric fences for each group. Three strands, run from a battery and tha standard 'energiser' unit that sends the pulses.

We move our pigs to fresh pastures often, hence the easily moved fences.

Pigs are clever and soon learn that the fence is unpleasant. So don't think they are constantly shocked - not at all. These are very happy pigs.
