Great :-) ive owned loads of honda vti type rs subarus etc .. In my time and tbh the toyota corolla ts is a great car to own use daily and fairly fast. in society today with petrol prices sky high, insurance premiums through the roof, pigs on every street corner and british roads more like off road dirt tracks the toyota corolla is great!!
I would like to have it. have got the 1.6l version and many drivers here in germany don't expect how qiuck it goes. Germans are so proud of their car history, that they think all other cars are slow crap. The nice thing about the Corolla TS is, that it looks like nothing special. Only the ones who know what the red coloured Toyota badge on the back, and the tiny TS in the grill means, know what's inside. And in Germany that'll be about 0,01% of the people.
@7Nub2Nub83 f**k u bro, maybe we all in germany drive Mercedes, Bmw, Audi and dont like jap-cars. But the real drivers know that the corolla ts is f**king fast in stock. the reason why nobody drives them is, that Mercedes and BMW are more comfortable. so why we should drive such a tinny, uncomfortable car?
just because of what I said. It is not more uncomfortable than a Golf GTI or something compareable. Of course, if you pay twice the money, you get more car. That's no magic. If you can afford a higher class, of course you can buy a Mercedes etc. Don't forget that we're talking about the so called Golf-class. More comfortable is a lexus, too. But it's more expensive. And the funy thing about a hot hatchback is, the understatement. If there's GTI on the back, everyone knows ...
and "TS" means "Toyota Sport" ... else it would be "TCwbe" for "Toyota Comfort with big engine"
If you wan to compare Luxury ans Sport, you'd have to pay a lot more money. I don't want to say that german cars are no good at all, of course the are. But, Japanese technology is far underratet in Germany. That's what makes it funny to drive one.
@7Nub2Nub83 yea but the actually Golf 6 R is faster then the corolla TS i think. The good things at the corolla ts are his expensive price, his fu*king fast stock, sound(if u have sport air intake) and he looks so undangerous.
One question: it is a 1.8 L engine right? what is his petrol consumption???
well, I made some experiences with fiat and ... despite the enginesound and the performance, which is really good I'm really not impressed by "Fiat-reliabillity". 5 years of driving and I spent nearly the same amount of money into repairs as I spent on the car itself. Friends told me the same about their Fiats.
Corolla (the 2nd one): no repairs nessessary at all. It just works and works and works.
Lift engagement is RPM specific. For the Corolla XRS in Canada/USA, lift engagement does not occur until ~6700RPM. I believe the T sport has a much better ECU that engages lift around 6000 or so which is much better in terms of power band!
dude,, i have 4 age ST so i dont have any idea about vvtL-i, my question is if u try to power shift will the lift kick in right away? because i heard that lift does not kick after you shift
@SoL21jeanne lift is contantly variable after it kicks in, the camshaft profile changes after 6k and wont change to the lower one unless you let the revs drop...you can keep it in lift after changing but u have to shift more aggresively and right at redline, the models with lift at 6700/6800rpm you can keep in lift after changing.
chevgav1, yes it is very difficult, you really have shift fast, but with a little training it would work, be careful you don't burn the clutch. I wrote I had 19 k km, well I passed the 30 k now. Still, where ever you look, no one has beaten filming this driving like displayed in this vid, here. I have done it, haven't filmed it, but I am a little to old for that, I guess.
I have a Yaris TS, it's a good little car, and I have already test a Corolla TS, my god it's not the same category. The lift at 6200rpm is fantastic, but no torque before 5000rpm... The engine is like
I reviewed this, and actually, this is very good driving (except in fifth, at the end, you could go on a little). That proves that without all this wheel spin, it is perfectly possible to shift properly and have a smooth acceleration with our TS's within a nicely tight time frame. Good work.
i m a mehanic at toyota, if you wanna real power so buy a MK4 SUPRA you fuck everything on the street i know what i m talking about, but please guys does me a favour and dont buy a FUCKING GERMAN CAR O_o,
if it werent for germany and german cars, cars today would not be the same. i give you a few examples diesel engine by a german guy, powersteering german guy, engine lead mr fukin bosch himself from germany.
its called corolla power baby!!! VVTL-I forever! i got a sportivo which is the same thing ive driven from brisbane to newcastle on one tank of fuel (57 litres)(770km) with 3 people in the car! and i dont need to tell you how quick it is you can see it in this vid
Interesting about the Sportivo being like the Corolla in the video despite the fact the t-sport has apparently a supercharger. Would be nice to see a modified Australian Sportivo with a supercharger.
Hello everybody. I just want to do a small statement and finish up with that after 5 successfull years with a toyota corolla TS. This car is really fantastic regarding its sound, max speed(up to 235kmh),and its acceleration while rolling. It seems to lack to accelerate from 0-100. Notwithsatnding, it really has bad springs therefore bad handling in the curves as a result. If you ever buy it do it but consider the things I told you. On the whole I adore my corolla despite its disadvantages.
Does anybody know the octane of the petrol this thing is running on?? We have these corolla's in South Africa but they struggle to beat 1.6 vtecs and even Silvertop 20v's but I have to add that are fuel is up to shit and on a high compression motor like this it will cost you some power...
and you asked if this is standard/dandycaptain) and yes it is... because if i put the pedal in the metal i go up to 60 km/h in 1 sec... and after a while 80- 100 - 120 ...FASTER THAN HIS
the thing is that i own a corolla ts and i raced against a type r and i won, it was a pretty good honda but corolla is better so i dont belive you...hondalover...//corolla fan
That's what my friend said before (a) I whupped his modded 1.5 vtec with a stock 1.0L yaris (Fair enough his clutch was a bit fucked but a 1.0L?!) (b) I whupped his modded 1.5lsi with my stock 1.4 corolla. He went and bought a 300zx he was so ashamed. vvt-i is the shit. I beat boy racers with a car I bought for economy.
