  • ive been listening to this video since i was 12 n im pulling the big for now..!! n i never get tired of it..!! i recall it gives me the chills everytime..!!

  • I saw roger do the wall in dec. 2010, it was excellent, gotta say, this is one of my favs...

  • I wish this song was longer

  • i wish the end of this song never stopped such an amazing riff

  • @geoff101001 ditto

  • best version ever

  • best fucking song ever

  • Roger is rather emotional. The guy has unreal stage energy. Just saw his "The Wall" show and he was bouncing around like a lunatic. (In a good way) even at 60 or however old he is. *_*

  • was he just acting with the song or was he actually crying/tearing up or something? o.O

  • Always beautiful music, saw them at the SILVERDOME. Video Suggestion: Weird Drive in moment Thank you

  • I seen the Tshirts to bumper stickers. I didn't know what was or is Pink Floyd. I know now what I truly like..

  • I think the crescendo into the end part is one of my favorite moments out of all the music I have listened to.

  • whoever dislikes this doesn't deserve to listen to any kind of music. or even hear anything for that matter.

  • Love this song. It encapsulates all the emotions one feels in such a time. We feel betrayed, hurt, confused, hopeless, distant, and indignant. I also think it speaks to us because we all have hurt the one that got away in some way or another and we recognize that. We did not appreciate our partner and work hard enough or constantly hurt them. Even if we did not "beat to a pulp" literally as in the song. I couldn't help tearing up like a baby when the chorus comes in. So powerful.

  • @hitsfromthebong557 I can totally relate. Which i hope is more universal than im led to believe. I certainly can shred a man to bits if i feel that way.

  • OMG the bass at 3:25! :O

  • Is this just not how we all really feel during a break up of a relationship? Maybe it's just because that's where I am right now.

  • @TheLegend313

I know exactly how you feel; a few years back I went through a tough one and I can remember just sitting at my computer [drinking whiskey] playing this song as loud as it would go. It was the greatest therapy I could have ever had. Even though the song is haunting and sad, it makes you feel like someone or some thing understands the pain. The screams feel real. It got me thru it.

  • @kingwilliamorange Hey dude! Thanks for your reply. My favourite band. All I seem to be listening to at the moment is THE WALL. This is the hardest break-up I've ever went through. I've had break-ups in the past but this was my perfect woman. And I went and fucked things up! Anyway, I'm not going to pour my heart out on youtube. All the best to you dude. Stay strong.

  • @TheLegend313 I feel you man. Just got over one myself (I think). Sucks how you think you're over someone then they creep up in your dreams or a thought triggers a memory of them. Mourn my good man. Mourn and then move on. Good luck sir

  • Why cant they write music like this today , instead of a holes like justin beber

  • wow

  • beautiful song

  • that simple note at 3:46 make me feel so strange........

  • if i get famous an end up on room 101 superb band break ups is goin in first startin with this bunch

  • Simply flawless. Which was all they did. Just magnificent.

  • why are you runnin awayyyyyooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @jtsnowman66 Absolute heartbreak at that moment. Gets me everytime.

  • If your are going to search the meaning of the word perfect in the dictionary, you'll find this album and this concert.

  • Rany, jak to działa na człowieka... Za każdym razem tak samo mocno.

  • This performance strikes me an absolute mastery of theater.....insanity, depression, anger, and raw talent bottled into a perfect blend of lyrics and music........ it describes and illustrates EXACTLY whats going on with Pink .... I can listen to it over and over again. WOW Cant wait to see Mr Waters on Nov 18 in Atlanta and then again in San Fran on Dec 6. My favorite artist ever

  • @kingwilliamorange

    So how was that show? I can't imagine it being anything but life altering. Where I am in Alaska we get a lot of flyover shows where bands pass through Anchorage on Asian tours and I've seen a lot of great shows but alas, never any floyd. {sadface}

  • @akgrizzly2006 The show was indeed life altering..... just SOOOO much different than anything else. The visuals were massive and poetic, the music was loud and crisp, and Rogers singing was great. I loved it. I hope he comes back across the US next year for a few more shows. I could go over and over and watch the same thing.

  • okay, I knew the the album came first, but as far as it ALL being based on Roger's life, well that's what i used to think as well, until i seen an interview about y he is doing the wall again now 30 yrs later, in it he explains......ALOT! Every Pink Floyd, Roger Water's fan whatever should watch that interview, and then they wouldn't sound like total idiots posting in here, i dont mean u, there r so many very young kids that think they know it all , I dont know it all but the interview helped.

  • this is the best version of this song i've ever heard. Roger gives off so much emotion and every note is perfect. unbelievable

  • @rliberty282 I completely agree, he looks like he is in inner turmoil.

  • im a musician, and i watch this and cant help but be insanely jealous. just unreal

  • @fmxkool hey aint that the truth?! This has just got to be Roger @ his super best, brilliant!!!, but the video isn't great for watching, we went and seen Roger re-do the wall last Oct. 24th and let me say it wasn't only spectacular, & as far as I am concerned, the concert is wayyyyyy better than the movie.

However, back to THIS cut of that tour, I think its the best one, can't find a whole lot that's watchable due to video lookin like crap or sound not being synched right.~fellow floydian

  • @babyjo21166 yeah...couldnt afford the tix in New York this year...200 for nose bleeds...made me very sad. i saw them twice in 94 with just Gilmour and saw both Waters and Gilmour seperately a few years ago, but i know this one would have taken the cake

  • E+5, Dbmaj7, Bb9, G G+5 ?

  • I see Roger Waters in December. Can't wait.

  • @noodle0912 we seen him in detroit oct. 24th, you are in for one hell of a treat.

  • oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh babe

  • I've tripped on acid and listed to Pink Floyd so many times. I know I have came up with my best art work ever. Just listin to the word and feeling the music takes you on a trip of the unknow. Wow what a ride enjoyed it all the way.

  • hmmmmm... im seeing this in 6 more days. live

  • @PieMan2014 how was it?

  • The song, the lyrics and Roger's voice represent my feelings for 200%, since my girlfriend left me, almost 3 months ago..... Thought I was done with it, but tears are burning again when I hear this song.

  • @planespotter61 Sorry, buddy. We've all been there, just hang in there. Check this video, a classic for good reason: ZBR2G-iI3-I

  • @planespotter61 awww, so sorry. i know exactly how u feel. I feel the same way. Major feelings pop up whenever i listen to it.

  • unbelivable performace, sounds perfect!! the wall i got hooked on as well, i seen the movie/cartoon graphic great in that movie!!

  • As deep as deep gets right here, masterful.

  • Can't wait to see him next month. Oh Ya did you guys hear that David Gilmour is going to play Comfortably Numb At one of Rogers shows.

  • @DavidGilmour240 At least one, he said. I hope he does it in Vancouver :) I'm going

  • @babyjo21166 Search "David Gilmour 2010", It's about the 6th video down.

  • @DavidGilmour240 , that is total wishful thinking and a complete rumor.....like gilmore aint got nothing better to do. They did meet up, this is also on youtube and my facebook page. not going to explain it, look it up and watch it> type in david gilmore and roger waters till we meet again. Short clip , but interesting.

  • love how he says SHHHHRRREDDAAA

  • lights out. volume up. laying down. this video fullscreen. ahhhhhhh 8-0

  • Hard to believe it has been 30 years ago that this video was recorded.

  • Pink Floyd wrote "Dogs".

  • Galko?

  • its hard to believe nobody in pink floyd was insane, all there song are great but can be very dark. I Love It!

  • @xYoungSteezyX Hard to believe, eh? Ever hear of a guy named Syd Barrett?

  • @xYoungSteezyX Syd Barret went crazy in 1968, which scared the other members of Pink Floyd away from experimenting with drugs. You are clearly very uneducated.

  • Galko?

  • @xYoungSteezyX LOL, that was a good post, bout Syd.

  • there really scary when there without lights in the head eyes

  • w00t scary teaches has blind eyes

  • why is the teacher haning again

  • sa passe pourtant gut Gut

  • sa passe gut

  • the feelings they had back then, they wrote there on songs. money rules now no talent!

  • Holy Mary! The most heartbreaking angst ridden performance I've seen, love the song as well.

  • @Kapricorn1 There we go, when i saw him singing that part, it was almost like he was in PAIN! He couldn't of sang it better that night. Sounded just like someone put on the album!!!!! His performance was exceptional, emotionally charged REAL, ROGER WATERS!!!! PERFECTION WITH HIS VOICE!!

  • Lip-Synching!

  • @miamad NO FUCKING WAY IS HE LIP SYNCING, Y WOULD HE EVEN HAVE TO? WHAT R U JEALOUS?

  • @babyjo21166 you know this isn't the actual audio from that show, right?

  • @rliberty282 Yes , i do know that, however~it is still Roger singing it!!!!!!!

  • its the augmented G that makes all the song psychedelic.

they were great musicians with very expresing chord progressions (remember the ending of saucerful of secrets ending - its bass melodic line was insane)...

and of course they were (and two of them still are) important personas...

  • Best Performance ever

  • God. Roger is putting so much of his heart and soul into this performance. You can see it in the way he's rocking backwards and forwards. He looks sort of... broken and fragile. It's hard to describe. Amazing.

I'm pretty hyped already to be seeing him next year at the Manchester Evening News Arena.

  • @tabbythenut YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE IT!!!! SPECTACULAR SHOW! SEEN HIM IN DETROIT , OCT. 24TH, WAS SO FREAKIN GOOD!!!

  • Que hermosoo

  • if i wrote the wall i would be insane. how the fuck is roger not bananas

  • roger waters is a fantastic songwriter. sad thing about it is that i don't think he gets enough credit 4 all that he's done!

  • i love this song

  • anyone else syched that Roger Is going on a world tour redoing The Wall.

  • @themetalman3 hell yeah im so pumped for that!

  • @themetalman3 i am dude im so pumped!!!!!

  • Awesome performance, gives me chills!

  • In the beginning of this song, there's heavy breathing. The breathing is his lady on a ventilator because he beat the holy crap out of her in the preceeding song titled "One of My Turns". He's not pleading for her to stay because she's walking out on him. She's dying.

  • (Continued....) A verse on that track is: "Run to the bedroom, in the suitcase on the left you'll find my favourite axe.

Don't look so frightened this is just a passing phase....

Just one of my bad days "

  • ax is in reference to his guitar def doesn't beat her, the breathing thing by this time especially was a Floyd staple... maybe the breathing from "pink" having a fit. (One of My Turns)

  • @rBrad4D - - Not taking the movie into consideration.... just an interpretation.... towards the end of "One of My Turns," he slaps her and you can hear something being banged around...I'm guessing he's hitting her with something. Either way it's interpreted, "Don't Leave Me Now" is very profound.

  • I never thought of it that way...

  • @mamasita262 lol, that's definitely not what's happening.

  • 'How could you go when you know how I need you to beat to a pulp on a saturday night?' It's harrowing how though the narrator is a wicked man his desperate voice still breaks our hearts.

  • ..l'assolo è qlcs di assurdo...

  • Whenever I hear the wall I show the same emotions as Roger. It's almost comforting that he shows the emotions while performing. When he grabs his arm while singing I got chills.

  • so awesome how they build up the tension in this.

  • oohh.. no me dejes pequeña! =) lindo, lindo, lindo..

    hipopotamos lampiños... (L)

  • just deep emptyness on a cold winters day, this song is perfect

  • this song kicks my ass every winter, actually the wall in general. Roger had an amazing way of showing dispair in his lyrics.

  • one of the best songs i have ever heard from the wall

  • it was 2 in the morining when i finished watching the wall the first time, and i was over my friends house.... we both had to check for gas leaks, we were so fried by the movie

  • Amazing, but that puppet is damn scary.

  • uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu babe....

  • I never understand why Pink's wife is portrayed as a praying mantis like creature and also as a scorpion like creature...

  • @dillydew3 because she is portrayed as archetypical figures along the movie

  • I get it all now.

  • and you never will

  • Because when she cheats on Pink, he feels the betrayal strongly. In nature female scorpions and mantises often kill and eat their mates once they're done.

  • @dillydew3 praying mantis eat there lovers after mating... not sure about the scorpions but im sure its similar symbolism.

  • fantastic!!!!!!!!!

  • One of purposes behind Pink Floyd's music was to give people a trip without drugs. IT is very effective. I have never done any and the first time I saw The Wall my brain was fried. Roger Waters is a genius. The best musician ever!!

  • i must say pink floyd sounds a thousand times better under the influence of drugs though. The song Echoes made me think i was in heaven once when i heard Think Floyd tribute band play it. Too bad I will never get to see the original. =(

  • @altron64 I agree with everything you said.

  • it was 2 in the morining when i finished watching the wall the first time, and i was over my friends house.... we both had to check for gas leaks, we were so fried by the movie

  • one word Long ass Acid nights as 16 and 17, in the 80's..............Ahhhhhhhhhh

  • 2:22-2:25 What an incredible scream.

  • The creepiest, loneliest chord progression ever. Masterful vocal performance.

  • @sailsharp this and Heatmiser by massive attack

  • @sailsharp and goodbye blue sky, one of my turns

  • @sailsharp they said in some interview i saw, and roger said the wall was his actually

how he grew up, his story!!!

  • @sailsharp i just couldn't agree with u more!!!

  • This shit is DEEP

  • good call

  • of all people not to have OD'd, or kill themselves from depression, Roger Waters did not. I have no idea how he could write these masterpieces and perform them on a basis like this and not get depressed

  • @AM007009 I believe this album was his outlet for his troubled state of mind at the time. The fact that he did write and perform this album helped him from going mental. Just my opinion though....

  • @AM007009 - I know hey? he was brilliant, and i'm sure all that acid didn't mess up his singing and playin guitar, and he still sounds great still too!!!!!!!

  • @babyjo21166

pink floyd didnt really do drugs just syd barrett.

  • @AM007009

He was very depressed for a while, he went through so much shit in his life.

  • @AM007009 u need to watch the 5 hr long special on the FUSE channel, they have been playing it alot, THE WALL WAS NOT ROGER'S LIFE, it was written from lyrics from one of his producers. U will know everything , just watch that .

  • @AM007009 i believe he did get depressed, and that's how he wrote this. Everything i've read or heard states that he got so low from the grind of performance, giving it all to the pigs in the audience that he snapped and spit at a guy from the state, but was shocked at himself afterward for such a base, inhuman action that he turned around and wrote the wall. Self therapy really.

  • @LMMEjsmith ummm , where are u getting ur information? Go look on here for his interview he recently did, type in Roger waters interview 2010 and you will scroll to find the one that says Roger waters AOL. Have you seen the movie? It WAS NOT based on Water's own life, only very small parts, it was actually the producers story. Roger just put the words and music together, i dont mean JUST in the way u might think, he created a masterpiece from it all.

  • @babyjo21166 You know the album was written before the film was produced? And it was based a lot on Rogers life, his dad died in WWII, hence 'Goodbye Blue Sky' and 'Mother' and though most of the album is fictional, it is based on Rogers life.

  • Ultimately Waters greatest work :) so incredible,

pink floyd are true musical geniuses !

  • Waters at his best....

  • ahah...you're crazy...Don't kill yourself, you could have a kid who might become an awesome rockstar whom brings back the 70/ 80's in all its glory :D

    I wish I did =/

  • Haha. I love how it's "awfully" sung. Singing this song "better" is technically impossible.

  • Right on. Wonderfully stated.

  • Roger looks so sad. Oh my god, its fucking amazing!! The song is amazing and the performance makes it even better. My favorite Floyd song of all time. But the look on Roger's face when he yells "BAAAAAAAABE" is so depressing, I love it...

  • where can i get this on dvd???

  • That's why I am asking. That's his goldtop. But if you see David Gilmour's "On an island" official video you will notice that he is using a Les Paul goldtop with P-90 pickups and a Bigsby vibrato for a part of the solo.

  • I had the same thing happen to me, and I turned for some weird reason or maybe for comfort in it's alienating theme to The Wall, endlessly. I've had a new girlfriend now for almost a year after 3 with the other one, funny thing is that I still think about the other one endlessly, how can I not, her favorite album of all time was Animals.

  • lets hear you sing it better douche.

  • I don't think you get it. It's "awful singing" because it's Pink singing about his lost girlfriend because he's built up his wall and so on. I don't really think it's relaxing, and it's Rick Wright.

  • it's supposed to be awful for dramatic effect.

  • 3:12 - 3:19 Is he Snowy White or David Gilmour?

  • I've gone through that too, those assholes. I hope they go to hell and die. Atleast you've gotten some inspiration out of it! I'm happy to hear you're over it. I haven't lost hope in people though just asked myself what was wrong with me for the longest time... and that sucks too. Oh well.

  • Lol. that's terrible! Just listening to this reminds me of someone wanting to die or something. I know what you mean. I think anyone listening to this starts thinking depressively. But It's a beautiful depression. I take the time to think deeply when I listen to this. I have to admit I love it. You can imagine what Roger waters was going through or whoever pink is based upon.

  • ooooh babe, dont leave me now dont say its the end of the road remember the flowers i sent i need u babe to put the shredder in front of my friends ooooh babe dont leave me now

  • me too

  • wow i can really relate to this except for the part where it says u know how i need u to beat to a pulp on a saturday night, lol

  • this is a really emotive song... it transtmits all the pain and the sadness he felt directly to your heart

  • que bien : estoy mal

  • Damn, why I was born in 1991...

The 70's and 80's were the best years of rock music in my opinion. Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, King Crimson, Sonic Youth, Metallica...

  • Best performance of the wall ever.

  • This is one of the most depressing songs ever written in rock history.

  • i would kill to see them performe this live

  • Comment removed

  • Like a week ago, a friend of mine, who's a HUGE fan of old rock bands, told me we would love to be borned at the '70s and asked me in witch decade I would like to be borned.

I said I was OK with the '90s, the decade I was born.

But after seeing this videos of the tour... well, I would loved to be there in the August 9th 1980.

    sorry for the bad english

  • I was negative 13 years old when this tour was going on. I wish I was positive 13 so I could see it. Looks to be of an amazing experience.
