  • Just made some! Should I keep it in the fridge?

  • Thanks for the info...

  • I shared your video on my fb page, I hope that's ok

  • where did you buy the ingredients like the oils and the Cocoa butter? Thanks for sharing this video =)

  • @lilylupe52 you can get items from your local health food store or online. Try fromnaturewithlove. com or camdengrey. com. Thanks for watching.

  • Oh, and I used shea butter (because that's the only "butter" I had). It works too :)

  • Thank you so much!! I made my own and it works. At first I put on a lot and it was a little irritating. A little bit really goes a long way. I will be checking out some of your products very soon too. Thanks again for sharing :)

  • @drgriffin2002 I'm glad it worked out for you! I have used shea butter as well! It has great healing and moisturizing properties. Truth be told, I use whatever I have to make the deo!

  • Never mind lol I just scrolled through your comments and saw the answer!! Awesome video!

  • My daughter and I just made the deodorant and I want to know if it must be kept in the fridge or is it ok to keep in medicine cabinet?

  • She speaks so well...

lol (sorry had to do it my friend. it's me rob)

  • 4th time watching this video! I love it! You're a chemist Ms. Brown!!!

  • Kinda of strange when you called the company it said they said if this is a medical emergency shouldit really be a medical emergency from using deodorant? I have a friend that makes her own as well I am gonna have to give it try for now I have just been buying the organic brand but I wonder of it is any better???

  • lol @shall remain nameless

  • Thank You for sharing, I will absolutely try this! :-)

  • @goodessarts3374 Wonderful! Please let me know how it works out. By the way, I've been snooping around your yt channel and I will be purchasing soon!

  • I'm gonna to try this and let u know how it turns out. I'm wondering if my shirts are getting stained from my sweat, deorderant or a combo of the two, hopefully going natural will prevent these stains. Thx for the video

  • @forevertrue06 Yes, please let me know! I haven't had any trouble with stains, although this may differe from person to person..

  • How long does a batch of this usually keep? Great tutorial :) Thanks for sharing

  • @qochemist I'm guessing 6 months to 1 year based on the shelf life of the oils. I haven't had the chance to keep it that long yet from using it and giving it away!

  • I make my own also. I'm gonna try your recipe. Good stuff! =)

  • @MzCJA you are the Queen Mixtress as far as I'm concerned! I love your recipes!

  • @BohemianBrown Wow! Thank you. Talk about somebody over here cheezin. *lol* You already know I think you are awesome sis. =)

  • @MzCJA I love it!

  • I think i will try this recipe, thus far i use just plain ole baking soda and coconut oil, but the baking soda has really been irritating my arm pits and turning it a dark color :(

  • @TamaraLavon if baking soda is irritating, stop using it. Even natural ingredients are the "be all, end all" if they cause us discomfort. Please go to this link (I had to break it up or yt would not let me post it): crunchybetty. com/not-a-secret-homemade-deodorant

There is a space between the "dot" and the "com" part. I hope that helps!

  • @BohemianBrown OOh scary, i found crunchy betty during work yesterday before i got home and saw your reply. Coincidence? I think not, lol. Thanks again!

  • Im gonna try this!

  • @angchocgirl try it!! Let me know how it works out!

  • The expressions on your face while pronouncing the alphabet of ingredients and calling the number had me cracking up! I've been using a similar deo that I made, the exception being shea butter for coco butter, for a about a year now. I love it and it works even in our hot azz summers. I added quite a bit more corn starch till it's much like the solid roll-on. The nice part is it does not melt in the jar in the summer heat. I don't use A/C. One does have to make sure it's rubbed in well.

  • @msfullroller great! I'll have to keep that in mind if I want a more solid deo in the future. What is the shelf life on yours? I never thought about it until proud2beanurse and qochemist asked..

  • @BohemianBrown I'm still using the batch I made last Sept-Oct, so the shelf life might be as long as 18 months. I added tea tree oil, cedarwood, eucalyptus, sage and lavender essential oils for the anti-bacterial properties with a couple others and broken open a vitamin e capsule. Oh, the additional corn starch smooths out the baking soda so that it's not irritating to the underarm and stops the baking soda from darkening it too.

  • What is the shelf life of the deodorant? Does it have to remain in the fridge?

  • @proud2banurse It does not have to remain in the fridge. I keep one in my purse at all times. I'm not quite sure of the shelf life. Never thought about it. I would guess to say 6 months to 1 year. I'm basing that on the shelf life of the oils that you put into it. A year might be the limit before the oxidation happens.

  • Mmmmm Sandalwood! I enjoyed this video! You're a great teacher. BTW you have awesome veins! I would love to start and IV on you....lol have you ever gotten complimented on your veins??? :)
