  • yep... thats definately nigerian music

  • @TBOOYY the first track is a well known and respected traditional female musician "salawa abeni" she also acts in yoruba films in nigeria.. its great to see this as the brazilians are very proud of their ancestry and they do , practice our languages and traditions. not all of course there is a section of brazil that do this..

  • Im white but lets be honest, racism is fucking retarded!Beautiful people comes from all races and classes and good people come from all races and classes.People who discriminate are generally thick and not very well read!

  • Too bad this anachronism continues, the belief that beauty is physical. The judges and audience are no different than birds or apes!

  • Why is that stupid guy dancing?

  • Why are whites judging? This is about black people and us value our own beauty.

  • WHY CANT WE REALIZE..BLACK , INDIGENOUS...MALANATED..WE ARE THE SAME REGARDLESS OF COUNTRY..IM JAMAICAN AND I LOVE ALL OF YOU MY PEOPLE..INDIGENOUS PEOPLE

  • 8:01 My personal favorite. Email me honey, if you're not already married..... J from USA.

  • This music is makin my ears bleed....

  • Wow... A racist beauty contest.

Oh, wait, because it's for black people only, it is not racism!

  • @qopha of course its not racism..thanks for pointing that out :)

  • @Nappitude21 i think that qopha is saying it is racist because if it was a whites only contest it be racist to black people

  • @qopha - What's racist about this contest? Please explain.

  • The girls are hot but the music is a massacre

  • what a fucker is the music are west africans no wonder

  • As mulheres brasileiras são muito bonitas. Especial o afro-Brasilians!

  • The majority of black people in Brasil and USA are mixed, just see real African girls they are BLACK but the rest are BROWN

  • @Oruper i am african american, and dont tell me i'm mixed, without looking at my dna report.

  • @Oruper You know nothing of Africa. Africans come in various shades and colours just as Asians& Europeans do. Stop spreading Ignorance you obviously have access to the internet so please use it.

  • Im yoruba and from Isale eko Lagos Island and my granparents faimly came from Bahia Big uppp.

  • wow they are all so beautiful.......im jealous :-) brazilians also really nice people. <3

  • Brazilians aren't Latinos because they don't speak Spanish but Portuguese.

  • @miles7291 Brazilians ARE LATINO, latinos are anybody who speak a romance language (portuguese, spanish, italian just to name a few). Brazilians arent hispanic but they are latinos.

  • @dcnot420 thank u

  • @miles7291 They are latinos ! Latinos are from latine speking countries, portuguese inckuded.

They are NOT HISPANIC, which is related to the spanish languyage, they are lusophone just like Anlolanos, Cape Verdean, Portuguese, Guineans, ect. But LATINOS, they are !

  • 2:03 Yea! But 2:48 WhOO, YEESSS!

  • naija yoruba for life

  • I MUST go to Brazil before I ever marry. The sistaz down there are absolutely stunning. The one potential problem is a language barrier. Hopefully they know how to speak a little English. I need to learn to speak Spanish ASAP.

  • @PurePressure999 umm.. Brazil=Portuguese not Spanish

  • @PurePressure999 They don't speak Spanish my bro, they speak Portuguese

  • @PurePressure999 They DON'T SPEAK SPANISH, THEY SPEAK BRAZILIAN PORTUGUESE. And why should they know some english their country doesn't speak it. Enrich yourself, learn their language. If you were from Europe or Africa you'd probable know 3 or more languages and you'd have no problems. When in Rome.

  • this video sucks major ass-

  • @GodAndtheRepublic u are so gay!

  • They are so beautiful!!!!! Viva Brazil!!!!!

  • Kavoline- from the Congo singer Awilo Longomba

  • That last darkskin girl who spoke while crying was just beautiful. But forreal though they are all beauties.

  • Linda Linda is this Nigerian music in the background?

  • Here we have Nigeria music of 2 - first- ade Adewale after Abeni, contestants speak- portuguese than dj music but we finish the audio track with Congolese Awilo Lomgomba while one of the contestant speak so emotionally- this special girl is from Rio de Janeiro

  • its great how black brasilians embrace african culture. black americans are yet to do so. its sad how they are in denial of their ancestry...GO BRASIL!

  • yea in america blacks here are so brain washed by the media..and schools dont even teach about true black history...and parents dont teach their children either

  • you Brasilian?

  • YES

  • IM NIGERIAN

  • Our story is a unique one as it pertain to the practice of mother land culture, we were striped to the bone and made over from head to toe ex. our song, dance, music, laughter, walk, cries and loving were changed beyond recognition and all this was endured under the then great hypocritic society of the USA.

  • @calaplant07 :But look at America's music and many things about it came from the African Americans and it's contribution from the many African countries brought out a rich new texture to blend in America's melting pot. At the end the Afro-Americans that were brought to the U.S. were sold by other Africans who lost out in what became the new nation of America.

  • @reuven2007 Sorry to disappoint you, but Africans have lost out on NOTHING as far as "New nation of America" is concerned! When we go to America we go there as Africans in America. When we go to Brazil, we go there as those visiting our relatives, because our culture and affiliation is thriving, and very much evident....call it a "home away from home" experience, which is sadly lacking amongst Americans. And as for the "Africans sold us out"...Brazilians as well as Africans know the "REAL" story.

  • @vixxy02 @vixxy02 exactly vixxy i wonder what these type of black americans come on here to do and what they think they are going to acheive with their endless minging lol! you would think that they were the only black people who ended up accross the seas the way they carry on instead of being 5% ..when south american blacks were over 45% of the trade ...

  • @vixxy02. am just bored of them to be honest, the endless complaining and moaning does not ring true in a world that doesnt care anymore.. we have more important things to think about.

  • @oluwalogbon58 Fact is when it came to the treatment of slaves, the Brazilians got it far worse, infact their life expectancy was shorter than the average American slave, yet the spirit lived and lives on! Yes there are injustices going on in Brazil geared towards the AfroBrazilians, yet that hasn't broken that strong African spirit, and I guess that's why they don't have as many hang ups,and are proud that they may have left Africa, but Africa NEVER left them!

    TRUE SURVIVORS!

    PEACE!!

  • @vixxy02 .. they celebrate they dont debate.. thats why they are such a good fit when they are in Africa, they dont bring any type of neurosis back with them, dont expect us to bow down to them and dont think they have the "Right " to tell us what to do.. you wont catch them doing a "liberia" with us!!.

  • seriously , what are you doing watching this? minge nation...

  • Do your research before you make such divisive and ignorant statements. I am a Black American who will no longer stand for being singled out and made to feel deficient by those who should no better. We all suffered furthermore, had it not been for our struggle and fight, just to be, there would not be a pathform for most blacks(of the african diaspora via the transatlantic slave trade) to stand upon. Peace and Love...

  • typo era.. platform

  • @calaplant07 Amen!

  • Excuse me, we were not allowed to practice any kind of african

culture to do so ment certain death or at

    the very least beaten into

    unconsciencousness.

  • beautiful black people!

  • Indeed!

  • Im afro-brazilian and I know for a fact that we recognize that most of ancestors are from angola . Yes there is a nigerian influence but most of it comes from angola

  • Hey amigo, tell us what are these facts? It will be important for us.

  • History suggests that most black brazilians r brought in 4m many western & southern african countries - including Ghana, Benin, Guinea-Bissau, Nigeria, Angola, Congo, Mozambique & tanzania.

Angola shares strong cultural similarities wit modern day brazil (both were portugese colonies). Yet, no of people removed from angola r nowhere near the blak population in brazil which is bigger than angola itself.

Slaves who arived near d time of abolition were more sucessful in maintainin their heritage

  • YES they are from Angola and nigerian but mostly angola

  • @HBKLDN There seem to be more Yoruba influence than Angolan. The Orishas, Yemoja are Yoruba. Umbanda is syncretic between some Angolan trad religion, Roman Catholicism and Yoruba traditional religion. It is comparatively recent. If you notice they make use of Orixas (Orisha) which is Yoruba

    Peace bro!

  • Among them is also Sea food of Crab: Extract the crab meat et.c mixed & season with small oil cooked inside the crab shell. If u lived in Isale Eko or Rica area you'll see all this cuisines. The other yorubas from kwara who came as traders did not allow many to know the real Lagosians those Kwaras with no insult intended gave bad name to yorubas (they're traders and lived rough) real Lagosian like neatness, partying (Faji) and fashionable to the core.

  • @omoibile Aah sis you are correct! Even when you go to Isale Eko there's a very nostalgic presence in the place! I don't know how to fully describe it but it's a sort of "comforting??" And I know what you mean about the real Legosians and their neatness etc! Even the architecture in places like Isale and Yaba, and those 'old' families and their lifestyles.....very easy going and cool!

  • God Bless My Ancestral children of Yoruba descendants and other African tribe. Oduduwa Bless you all..Ashe! Please I need a recipe of Frijol, I heard in Bahia they have many yoruba food. Fried Akara and gari (the cassava grains usually eaten with cooked Beans spread on top to be mixed with) NEED HOW TO MAKE FRIJOLES

  • you might try the NAIJA BOYZ MUM'S COOKING VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE.. if you type "summy's cooking connection " on youtube you will get her channel her instructions are clear and concise and she is delightful.. its good to see our culture spread so far into the world, the first time i heard a brazil black speak yoruba on on film i was so shocked as i could understand almost every word!! the portugese didnt do a good job in surpressing our culture with the slaves as they didnt have the manpower like us

  • Thank you Logbon! I'm going to the channel now.

  • It's called Frijoles in portuguese and spanish but we Nigerians pronounce it Fridzjohn. It's beans made with coconut milk eaten with Fried fish stew. It's typical Lagos easter food. Not Jollof Rice

  • Comment removed

  • Is that why you have to insult? Then tell me what it's called in portuguese as you know more than me. Idiot is you who said it's wrong but do not tell the actual name in portuguese. I maintain it's Frijol as it is called in spanish too. If you know of any name tell u... disrespective mr.palaver INDEED!

  • What part of Brasil is this filmed?

  • Sáo Paulo

  • its made from beans but i remember the beans are very dark brown and you use a lot of suger and soak them for hours.. the process of making this dish is long and laboured and at the end of the whole excercise you just want to sit down and rest..

  • up to this day there are certain families in lagos who have portugese names such as "da sliva" which is a very popular name and there are some foods the portugese brought which lagosians cook like at easter time the dish"fitzjohn " is prepared by those of potugese extraction .. (nice dish hell to prepare..!)

  • the portugese were the first europeans to land in lagos and lagos is named after them.. the yorubas call it "eko" prounced " "eh ko"

  • Yoruba of Lagos are mostly of SierraLeonian freed slaves and Portuguese slaves descendants (Brazilians) With names DaSilva, Ferreira, Cardoso, Serano, Gomez et.c the name Lagos itself is Portuguese hence in Portugal they also have a city called Lagos. Among the settlement of Saros (sierraLeone) you'll see fervent christians of Methodist church and Anglicans Church, they can't pronounce letter R correctly and always speak english with yoruba and few saro words

  • And they all have a nice thick head of long curly hair that is all theirs.

  • They are all so pretty!

  • 2:09 wow i need to move to Brazil.

  • You are completely right. But there are others beuatiful ladies. Thanks for comment

  • The firs sound trck is from Segun Adewale

  • Yes , yes, you are right!!!!! Thanks

  • 1:34 is gorgeous

  • "Seal" the singer is also a Nigerian/Brazillian descendant. Lagos, in Portugal and Brazil will also confirm the links. Lagos meaning surrounded by lake in Portuguese!

  • the first city in nigerian is lagos which the potuguese name it while us yoruba call it eko where it was the main place of slave trade from 1404-1889 wikipedia LAGOS naija 4 life YORUBA TILL THE DAY I DIE

  • all of you are wrong people only associate brazil because of colinization but infact many came form nigieran of yoruba decent many returned to nigeria this day bearing prtuguese last name i myself am nigerian of afro brazilain decent

  • mwxicans are nt blackpeople.... u must have then mixed up with the deminicans, cubans and purto ricans

  • Actually, the opening track on the video is from Segun Adewale's "Yo-pop" (Yoruba pop) album, from the eighties; only after that does Salawa Abeni come on. You don't mean that Nigerian songs were playing as a Brazilian beauty contest was going on! I admire your eclectic taste in music; takes a lot of courage and genuine interest to reach out all the way from Brazil to Nigeria and Congo for a youtube soundtrack!

  • Afro Brazilians women are the finest women in the World.

  • @JacqTheTruth you got that right and i am going to get me one

  • Aww. Ignorance & stupidity is SO cute!

  • stfu !

ain't nothin' he/she said involves ignorance or stupidty ! you jus' mad cause it don't apply to you ! what's cute is your envy/hatin' !

  • LMAO. Actually, I thought I hit reply for the comment above his. But thanks for the comment lol.

  • im a black brazilian and the only thing that makes us diffrent from african americans are where are faimlys ended up in the slave trade that is all. there really isnt anyone who looks better we are still the same race in all just ended up in diffrent places sorry from my english

  • Wierd???? Man, I am brazilian and I am divulgating your music and you call it wierd?

No, this a beautiful music that is giving energy and pleasure to the video.

  • mate...re-read my comment.

I CAN'T SPEAK THE LANGUAGE OR UNDERSTAND THE LANGUAGE HOWEVER I CAN TELL THE MUSIC IS SINGING IN YOROBA.....

I AGREE IT IS NICE MUSIC..ITS FROM MY COUNTRY!

  • this brazilians look like Kenyans and they sing like kenyans..is hat swahili or something?

  • lol theres no history of kenya in the atlantic slave trade and also they speak yoruba and practice west african religion and dances so east africa is out of the question

  • got damn them are SOME BAD ASS WOMEN

  • nós somos um dos tribos de brasileiros de Israel assim que deixamos de pé!!!

  • Hey ril9, what is e.g naz?

If please tell us. What african music styles do you like?

I am special interested in soukous, cause the guitar.

  • when i said e.g naz i mean he has nigerian parents and there are many others like that. naz's dad is a nigerian jazz musician olu dara. And most of the african music i hear my parent listen to has been diluted with western culture. i think they are all unique and i like those ones with the talking drums

  • oh another rapper is chamillonaire(nigerian parents) but i think you are looking for africans who actually use the african methods. one was fela kuti, he was popular in the western world during his time and another person was king sunny ade, the white people loves his music but they wanted to tune it to appeal more to them but he denied and went back to nigeria.

  • Thanks RIL9, I will search for this rapper, however african music continue using original roots- if you please watch some videos of Kora , include some of our page. Is there some TV channel only from africa music where do you live?

  • it is like the Ashantis. i have known many people to have come from the Ashantis tribe from both Ivory Coast and Ghana. The Ashanti's are not only in Ghana but also in Ivory Coast. There is no such thing in Africa as a certain tribe belongs to a certain country.

Sweety, I am African-American, but it seems as if I know African history more than you.

You only 16, you still have much to learn on African history

  • Besides these historical informations, how much african singers are known in States?

    Bye bye

  • a lot of african artists but most of them were born in america and are not associated as african because they look just like the african-americans due to the weather e.g naz. just like me, no one know i'm african by lookin at me.

  • African faces are diverse. There is no such thing as an african face. I seems to me that most africans can't tell other africans apart. Only if they belong to the some ethnic group or speak the some language. It seems to me like most west africans I've been around seem out of touch with african diversity. I have been around east africans who are more in touch with african diversity in and outside of africa.

  • please why say black people account for 6%? I know we account fr more than that. and Brazil has many more blacks (I don't mean mixed) but black people that the USA, so smab i don't know where you get your ntion that the black race is in brazil is dying. if you ask me it has instead increased.

  • NIGERIA was first slaved by the potugese and tonnes of slaves were taken to brazil, puerto-rico and guyana from nigeria. However some other latino coutries may have angolan african heritage but not brazil. BESIDES, THE BRAZILIANS HAVE CLAIM YORUBA SO STOP SPEAKING FOR THEM.even in the movie 'city of God' i heard a bit of yoruba, real talk!

  • @ ril9 wow, it is not only Nigeria but several other African countries were first colonized by the Portuguese. I am American but if i am mistaken, isisn't there no such thing as a certain tribe comes from a certain country?. they may be from the Yoruba tribe, but could come from Angola.

  • i agree with smab most brazilian slaves came from Angola and not Nigeria. at least i was taught that in skuls and have seen it on many documentaries concerning black brazilians.

  • ril9 AND MANY MANY SLAVES WHERE BROUGHT FROM ANGOLA TO BRAZIL. DO SOME MORE RESEARCH COS I ACTUALLY AM FAMILIAR WITH THE PORTUGUESE AFRICAN CULTURE. I SPEAK PORTUGUESE.

  • Alo Smabh, pode escrever que fica bem melhor. Voce fala alguma língua africana?

    Muito grato

  • 22jan51 if u can plz translate.ur gettin me confused.

  • smabh dont get me wrong i really do like angolians.

  • Most AFRO-BRAZILIAS COME FROM ANGOLA. I don know why the Nigerians wanna keep fanting about

  • there could be some from angola but the majority is from nigeria and dont get angry at me cuz i get my info from latinos and nigerian who know the history. i know angola has good relations with portugese but not in slavery

  • and also AFRO-BRAZILIAS COME FROM NIGERIA cuz they claim yoruba. ask their great grandparents

  • ril9 I 'm sorry but the MAJORITY COME FROM ANGOLA AND CLAIM ANGOLA AS THIER HOME. THEN TELL ME WHY MANY MANY BRAZILIANS MIGRATE TO ANGOLA. most brazilians when migrating to africa, MIGRATE TO ANGOLA and NOT NIGERIA

  • and also AFRO-BRAZILIAS COME FROM NIGERIA cuz they claim yoruba. ask their great grandparents

  • angeredare, i dont think hispanic has white, i think its mostly black, portugese and mixed.

  • turns out some parts of brazil still speak nigerian yoruba language

  • Yes, some people who does afroreligion, macumba, and others activities however I think they do not speak yoruba just words. I need somebody give me more informations

  • all i know is that most afro-brazilians are descendants of the nigerian yoruba tribe and they know it. some brazilians call for yoruba people from nigeria to teach them their orgininal language.

  • Hey ril9 if you please could you translate this song to us? At least the signification of this song. Thank you
