So are Kryptonics decent for only $10? I'm thinking about getting them for a Hybrid that I'll use at parks. I dont have a ton of money, so would they be okay?
@iPodOperator They're definitely fine for the money. Kryptonics can handle a park, because parks dont have gravel that could mess with the wheels/ trucks. So yeah, for a park, on a Hybrid, kryptonics do fine.
@365Laxin the kryptos carve well on cart paths, smooth enough to get around that kind of pavement. might have to tighten the trucks tho, cuz cart paths arent that wide and the s8's are pretty shaky. i recommend either tightening them a bit, or getting randalls. the kyrptos are perfectly fine on hills too, especially smaller ones cuz of the wheel size and minimum wheel bite. Sliding is possible, but not as smooth as what you get out of Otang Stims. So yeah, they do fine on small scale stuff
@bulipap the cell swiss bearings give me a lot more with 1 pump, makn it easy to cruise, tried it out on the santa monica beachside. the wheels are alright... could be better, but cant handle bumpy roads for krap. could go for stims, or 4pres
do u like the malakai 40 longboard...cuz i just bought one right now...can u tell me the good and bad things about this board...PLEASE RESPOND! thanks.
@fligggggggg at first i didnt really like the board cuz of the graphics, but then i realized its the best 40 inch pintail in the market. in my opinion, the good things have to be that it has the smoothest carving out of all longboards and that it literally makes you feel as if you were in water. It carves HARD if you need to and commutes like no other. There arent really any bad sides, but it takes some getting used to the deep carves, especially with s8/s10. But after awhile, you get used to it
@DIYTx as long as you got s8's, there's gonna be some wheel bite for any sized wheels. jus place your front foot a little bit before the front trucks.
@DIYTx if you want to cruise, get the torpedo. if you wanna carve like mad, get the path. if you want to rip hard corners and slide, get the terrapin. If you want a combo of cruising and carving, get the malakai. I got the malakai cuz it can make any hill, a good hill.
@karatekid984230 k thanks, I'm probably going to get the malakai because I want a combo of cruising and carving, but what about the derringer how does that compare?
@DIYTx the derringer isnt as smooth as the other 37 inchers and 40 inchers. BUT its got extreme carves. so if you wanna carve fast through sharp corners , and maybe do kickflips. It's definitely lighter, if you do mind carrying heavier boards. So its like half a malakai, with more mobility and maneuverability.
@karatekid984230 im a beginner looking to start longboarding. what would you recommend in lengths, wheels, etc. would the malakai or the torpedo be good? I like the look of both of them I am 5'8" only 110 pounds, 15 years old. if either the malakai or the torpedo would be good, which is better? I would just like to use it for transportation and crusing around. thanks for any information!
@indycolts4 get a board that's around 40 inches. could be 37, like the path or apex. Like the girl said from the malakai video, malakai is great for beginners, and gives experienced riders the performance to even out carve n out cruise most sector9s and some landyachtz. Torpedo and Malakai work good, especially for ppl under 150 pounds. If you want it for transportation, n cruising, defitely go with the torpedo. If you want a bit more carve, go for malakai.
i want the exact same thing im gonna order it next week is it good? Is it worth it? I was thinkn of gettn the path 37 but its out of stock and i dont wanna wait
@benjixkrazee haha trust me, its the best pintail out of all the originals. carves like mad. longer the board, more carve you'll get. personally, i like 40 inches, especially if you're on the tall side.
@benjixkrazee yeah it rides fast if you carve wide on flats. You gotta get used to the s8 trucks at first, but after a few runs it'll be the smoothest board you'll ever ride. ever. better than any loaded or landyachtz
there not that bad there just not high preformance.and plus tthose are the stock wheels for all original boards. not everyone is a preppy little fuck that can affoard intense over priced longobard wheels like you so dont be hating on his setup choice
i posted that comment cauz karatekid984230 posted on my youtube vid that i was a fuckin idiot becaus i bought my apex withthe default kryptos. And then i go and see his board and i find out he has them too- that's all.
Hey!! I'm actually thinking about ordering the same board (Everything standard) and I'd love to know how you like it! I'm a beginner, I've never had a longboard before and I heard this is a pretty great board to start with and to learn more with. Let me know how you like it, I'd love to hear what you have to say about it! And how long you've been skating! =D
For any of the Original boards, right out of the box, the board carves like CRAZY. The first few times you ride it, you'll feel a little bit wobbly, but after a while, the Malakai becomes the funnest thing ever, especially if you're a beginner. S6's are great for you. Wheels and bearings don't matter if you're new to longboarding, just as long as you're having fun! It really does carve like a dream. Its the most amazing board for beginners and intermediates. I've longboarded for a year.
Its great for carving and cruising(mostly carving). This board was worth EVERY penny. The malakai beats the path 37 and torpedo 40 any day. Don't worry bout the stability, cuz after a while, you'll tear up streets as good as Originals do.
hey great video, also go check out my channel, because im having a xbox 360 and a psp giveaway. And once great video, i rate it 5 stars, keep the good work up.

hey great review...im also gonna get the malakai and have a couple question's.
what trcuks come with it, is it the S6's?
and i am gonna use the malakai for commuting and hills and crusing so should i upgrade the wheels?
comment back
iwasonceallama 2 years ago
S6's are standard w/ the malakai 40.
you can upgrade to s8's for 8 dollars
or s10's for 16 dollars.
If you want commuting, hills, n crusing, S6's are the way to go b/c the s8's that i got with them give the malakai ALOT of carve.
If you got the cash for it, go ahead n buy some wheels, but the standard kryptonics i got with them do just fine.
no more than 76mm wheels for s6's
But if you want to commute n cruise, i'd suggest upgrading the bearings to make your trip a little smoother n faster.
