  • I had never seen that clip of Chaplin(sans mustache) doing those ballet moves before; quite remarkable. And the clip of him getting hit repeatedly on the chin by the woman's arm was quite funny. Athleticism, grace and humour--that was Chaplin. Also, excellent song choice.

  • how does he walk like that all the time

  • MJ definitely learnt from him

  • Chaplin ne mérite pas la musique de m de M.

  • well done posting the tramp really was divine

  • I have been looking for this song for AGES!!!!

  • @thegtamanful Becuase back in the 1910s and early 20s Thats how they made films. Back Then They didnt have the technology to film with normal spped.

  • What fun! Must admit I am more team Keaton, but this was very entertaining. Song will be on my mind for days....

  • Very nicely done! Great choice of music and how it fit in so well with the clips! As time's gone on, I'm realizing more and more just what a huge genius Chaplin was! Thank you for sharing!! ;-)

  • Haha this is great, this song is perfect

  • He is awesome, yet Michael Jackson still tops dancing world. Charlie is my favourite and so is Michael, but they each conquer the Music World and Movie World.

  • @MJCrazee1958 I agree! I adore both Michael and Charlie beyond belief, but Michael is the master of dance. Charlie is the master of film. I love them both so much.

  • The man's a GENIUS.

  • "I once gave Charlie Chaplin a hand job."

    "Was he silent??"

"Not when I was through with him."

  • Charles Chaplin was the GREATEST writer, producer, director, cameraman, actor, dancer, mime, & peacemaker of all time :) GREAT video!!

  • Wonderful, thanks for posting it. In fact the great dancer Nijinsky after seeing one of Chaplin 'movies said :: But he is a dancer I thought he was an actor.

  • @lolita7426 Really? That's cool..

  • Michael Michael Michael Michael !!!!

  • That is a cool tune.

  • Where is the footage in colour from? And of him out of character dancing really difficult-looking ballet? If you could help me that'd be great, thanks. :D

  • If you mean 1:13; it is from his life documentary and that is when he is in 80s in switzerland. I think those were his daughters. But if you mean 1:21 then I am not sure but I think it is from "the great dictator" movie..

  • Thanks, what about 1:16?

  • Oh, and 1:21 is from Modern times lol.

  • its never been in color... this is all old film...

  • Him out of character doing ballet is on the set of "City Lights."

  • Thanks :D

  • Well done!!

  • o my...that was awesome......kudos crosspendant.....

  • The ground always seems so slippery when under that man's feet, hehe!

  • where is 2:16 from?

  • I'm 99% sure that's from 'The Pawnshop' (1916). Also, there's a good scene in that film, where he treats a man's clock, like the clock is a patient, at a hospital.

  • He started that in film where he personifies an object and endowed it with human quality. Pure genius and never before his time in film..

  • 2:26 nice intro! :3

    what is the song called?

  • it's called the triplets of belleville. it's a very nice french song from the movie triplets of belleville itself. i recommend the movie to chaplin fans, because it has an essence of a silent film, thanks for the comment.

  • where is 2:07 taken from ?

  • it was taken from tango tangle, the quality is terribly low, pardon me.

  • This is a fantastic video! I love your choice of song. It's funky but still so fitting :)

  • thank you jezzyloo, I've really exerted a lot of effort to make this video an interest for chaplin fans,by the way, the music is from the french animated movie called "triplets of belleville", you guys might want to try it, it has a bit of chaplinsque because it s almost a silent movie. okay im going too far,im gonna stop now, thanks again.
