I had never seen that clip of Chaplin(sans mustache) doing those ballet moves before; quite remarkable. And the clip of him getting hit repeatedly on the chin by the woman's arm was quite funny. Athleticism, grace and humour--that was Chaplin. Also, excellent song choice.
Very nicely done! Great choice of music and how it fit in so well with the clips! As time's gone on, I'm realizing more and more just what a huge genius Chaplin was! Thank you for sharing!! ;-)
Thanks to all who commented on my videos whether its "like" or "dislike", every comment makes me feel like I am important to you. He is awesome, yet Michael Jackson still tops dancing world. Charlie is my favourite and so is Michael, but they each conquer the Music World and Movie World.
@MJCrazee1958 I agree! I adore both Michael and Charlie beyond belief, but Michael is the master of dance. Charlie is the master of film. I love them both so much.
Wonderful, thanks for posting it. In fact the great dancer Nijinsky after seeing one of Chaplin 'movies said :: But he is a dancer I thought he was an actor.
Where is the footage in colour from? And of him out of character dancing really difficult-looking ballet? If you could help me that'd be great, thanks. :D
If you mean 1:13; it is from his life documentary and that is when he is in 80s in switzerland. I think those were his daughters. But if you mean 1:21 then I am not sure but I think it is from "the great dictator" movie..
I'm 99% sure that's from 'The Pawnshop' (1916). Also, there's a good scene in that film, where he treats a man's clock, like the clock is a patient, at a hospital.
it's called the triplets of belleville. it's a very nice french song from the movie triplets of belleville itself. i recommend the movie to chaplin fans, because it has an essence of a silent film, thanks for the comment.
i agree with the rest of the comments, great job! well done crosspendant! ive seen that triplets of belleville by the way, and must say its brilliant, highly recommended!
thank you jezzyloo, I've really exerted a lot of effort to make this video an interest for chaplin fans,by the way, the music is from the french animated movie called "triplets of belleville", you guys might want to try it, it has a bit of chaplinsque because it s almost a silent movie. okay im going too far,im gonna stop now, thanks again.
