One can interpret this in so many ways, I like to think of it as us humans, portrayed as Derek Redmond, and God, being the father in the video, and how God is always there for us even in our troubles and he picks you up when you're in need. That's how I look at the video. I liked the religious part at the end, it's true, encouraging, and inspiring.

I remember watching this race live, Derek Redmond is forever a legend. But i must comment on who put yhis clip on here.......... there were no stretcher bearers and why do you refer to his dad as being a large man... why didn't you just say his dad.

And the bible bit at the end there is no need for... if god wanted him to get through this he wouldn't have allowed him to tear his hamstring in the first place
