S Janakiamma has made a tremendous contribution especially to Kannada playback singing. She has sung umpteen number of songs in Kannada. She reigned Kannada film music for more than 40 years(late 50s to early 90s). She is the best in singing film devotional songs in Kannada(Kannadigas will know it?). Her duets with SPB are unmatched. From G K Venkatesh to Rajan-Nagendra to Hamsalekha, this pair has rendered awesome songs!!!
