Clapton.. his range of music, including words and styles is amazing. Sure layla is a great song for all time but neil has many equally great songs, and done in so many versions in his live performances.. ie Cow girl in the sand, cortez, change your mind, cinnamon girl , gold rush..... when you line them all up, no one is even close. Neil's version of Along the Watchtower is the best there is, (listen to it on bob's 1992 30th an concert).

@mansiononthehill yep that is pretty much regarded as his best moments captured on tv, it keeps getting taken down for copyright infringement...guess with NBC, SNL, Reprise/Warner records etc all gunning it is hard to beat em. I remember they played it for part of his montage before he was introduced into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, it was the last bit, as he was walking up to the podium...he just looked at himself and laughed...lol
