  • 0:20 The gay will reign supreme?

    Dear me!

  • @kricku

    It's the gang.

  • Ahh Heathcliff.. the lovable terrorist.

  • Cleo......

  • The episodes with riffraff were better. I always wanted to see heathcliff meet riffraff that never happened though

  • @MrBw1982 riffraff and cleo actually did cheer on heathcliff in one of the episodes, but they never met. also, riffraff's gang appeared, but without riffraff and cleo.

  • This is still a great song; I still Love it. Generation X we were truly blessed.

  • R.I.P Bruno Bianchi (1955-2011).

Passed away December 7, 2011. He was a major part of this show being successful, along with other DIC shows.

  • Notice how some of the animation here in the credits reflects some of the production process. Heathcliff on the typewriter is a nod to the writers, the sketch out of trash can is a nod to the character designers, the trailer-cum-convertible shows how production is important to the proper story and distribution; the microphone/script is a nod to the voice actors, the trash cans as drums is to the musicians, and Heathcliff out of the hammock to show how grueling an executive producer's job is.

  • I'm trying to find out if this song is related in any way to Major Tom. (Including the junkyard cars, the beat).

  • I Remember this End Credit, When I was a Young I Missed this On Channel 4 I Just Wake Up on Saturday & Sunday Morning! Back in the 90's I Like Opening Theme was Starter on channel 4 in 1990's.

  • I think the only chance we ever got to see Heathcliff and Riff Raff in the same scene was at the beginning of the end credits. Would have loved to see a half hour long crossover episode too. Imagine what kind of havoc those two would have wreaked on the neighborhood! Spike would have been a nervous wreck. :)

  • wanna hear a joke... cartoon network!

    80-90's cartoons! forever!

  • God I feel like a furry finding Cleo hot. Somebody kill me before i turn!

  • @JuicyPlayer Dont feel bad, I always had the hots for Cleo and I bet we are no where near the only ones. lol.

  • @TulsaWolf77

So did i and it was her with Cheetara and Mr'ress from the Star trek cartoon that i was fascinated with catgirls. Isn't it amazing how back in the 80's and 90's they made sexy feline girls in cartoons? i mean you had Cleo, Cheetara, M'ress, Aishia Clan Clan, April O'Neil as a catgirl from that episode of Turtles (Remember?), Felicia, The Puma Twins, Kit Mambo from Animalympics, and Selina Kyle as an ACTUAL cat-woman from that Batman TAS episode (Remember that?) were all sexy.,

  • @Johnlindsey289 furaffinity has all those girls there just waiting for you ;D

  • Sounds like Holiday Road from Vacation big time. I grew up with this show when i was 4 26 years ago and i thought Mel Blanc was terrific as the main character, Riff-Raff was a riot and Cleo was such a babe as she probably started the whole fascination on catgirls, The Japanese loves catgirls too. This was a Canadian/US/French/Japanese co-production afterall

  • @MagmaMan55

Heathcliff & Spike were established comic strip characters and property of one artist. Riff Raff & Cleo were creations of another artist. The wonderful world of Copyright kept these 2 pairs from casting opposite one another in an individual short. Meanwhile, Hector, Wordsworth, and Mungo were original characters made for the cartoon, and thus had no copyright/permission issues, allowing the cartoonists to place them in either short.

  • @MagmaMan55

The awkward part is that even though Heathcliff and Riff Raff were not seen together, they always talk about each other.

  • I loved getting home from grade school in the late 80's and watching this. This was deffinately a weekday cartoon and then you had the Saturday morning cartoons which were great back then too.

  • @mediolagana, I think Mongo was his name. If Im right, don't ask me how I remembered that. haha.

  • Shows like this is why we have furrys

  • Haim Saban mentioned at 0.29 sec also did the music for He Man, Inspector Gadget, She Ra and many others. He is worth 3.5 BILLION!!!

  • Assisted by John Kricfalusi and Lynne Naylor.... Cool!

  • I'm feeling like an old tart right now hihihi. I stil have an old VHS with some episodes.

  • Love this cat. That Cleo was a fine Puss. Very classic.

Now for the Justin Beiber flu thats going all over the place. I would just love to see him perfrom and hear is nuts drop out of his adams apple while singing his next b.s. song.

  • HOT

  • wow so long since i saw this show............feel so old

  • Justin Beiber don't got Shit on this one. ;)

  • @DTWX What does this video have to do with Justin Beiber???? I'm tired of going to every video I enjoy and seeing people talk shit about Justin Bieber. I admit, Justin Bieber is an awful singer, but that doesn't mean he's an awful guy. If you're going to say stuff about Justin Beiber, do it on a "Justin Beiber" video.

  • @cheacky2

    *sigh*

Just expressing my own beloved opinion on something, like many others would do the same.

    Sheesh...

But then again, we're all getting so tired of The Beiber, we can't stop seeing him everywhere.

It is madness, I tell you.

  • @DTWX

I'm tired of seeing him everywhere too, but I don't get what cartoons have to do with him. You have the right to express your opinion on something, but at least do it on a video that has at least something to do with Justin Bieber.

  • @DTWX WILL YOU PEOPLE PLEASE JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT JUSTIN BEIBER ALREADY PLEASE. CAN I PLEASE GO TO ONE YOUTUBE CHANNEL WITHOUT SOMEONE MENTIONING HIM AND HOW HE SUCKS AND HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FUCKING VIDEO? THATS ALL I ASK.

  • 3 people got their girls stolen by Heathcliff

  • 3 people got mad that Riff Raff dug their self-portraits out of the trash.

  • @Sickopath333 thats soo funny! that pix always cracked me up!

  • Z DROGI WSZYSCY, CHOWAĆ SIĘ!!!!!! ŁEBSKI HARRY MA SWÓJ DZIEŃ!!!!!! MIASTO RUSZA CAŁY GANG, JUŻ KOCURY IDĄ W TAN. WSZYSCY CHCĄ SIĘ WSPIĄĆ NA SZCZYT, OD RANA KRĘCI SIĘ TEN MŁYN. • heathcliff had mad swag

  • i get such a good vibe watching these childhood cartoon intros... i feel damn good like i met an old friend!

  • Heathcliff is Pimp and Badass!!!

    Screw that pansy Garfield!!!

  • You'll note that Chuck Lorre co-developed this series, and I guarantee you Mel Blanc was easier to work with than Charlie Sheen!

  • .. Does Heathcliff have tourettes syndrome? He seems to bang and kick random objects for no reason.

  • 0:20 "The gang will rape a priest"?!?! HAAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!

  • @countmecha

Damn it! I can't unhear it!

  • @countmecha That should be "The gang will reign supreme".

  • I miss Heathcliff and the Cadillac Cats. :(

  • I miss the 80s even though I was real young but I do remember this show alot and other cartoons in the 80s ,I mean them was the good old days like when cartoons will come on you just just sit down right in front of the TV with a cup of koolaid and have a good time

  • The french theme was copied on that one...exactly the same; except it's in french, of course, and it's female voices instead...I never forgot of this "weee-weeew-weeew" weird sound, at the very very end, as the theme ends... I also remember there was written someting like "DIC" if i remember well (the producing company of these days ??) ... I don't why there isn't here...perhaps it was added to the french theme only...? D'no, just assuming... the good old days anyways...

  • WTF happened to kids shows? They suck now compared to the older stuff.

  • the closeing credits was realy cool you dont see this in cartoons today

  • is Riff Raff a pimp?

  • Chuck Lorre (see 0:05-0:10) doesn't mention this now he's a CBS sitcom overlord. Wonder why?

  • Heathcliff > Garfield

  • How do junkyard cats get a house that turns into a car and then a boat?

  • 80's was epic for cartoons, 8 turned 90degress = infinity symbol. Meaning 80's shows and music will be remembered forever. Also meaning we won't have anything near theis epic till the 2080's, if we survive that long. I'm praying every night for the science and money for cybornetic bodies till then.

  • Man i use to love this show, i remember it was sometime before Bobbys World

  • This theme is lovely, even after 26 years. :)

  • Gen Xers, like myself, are so lucky to have been kids in the 80s. There was cool music and cool cartoons.

  • @jlarral Well said, say did your mom ever yell at you for jumping through car windows ala bo duke? XD memories

  • @jlarral I agree. We are lucky to have grown up with cool music and television shows. Maybe someone will invent a time machine and we can go back one day.

  • Damn, this takes me back... Wait a sec? The credits say that this cartoon had 28 writers!? WTF!?

  • great upload..thanks..

  • Can you guys imagine what the recording studio was like when this end credit song was recorded?? This was PURE TALENT BABY!

  • This is from the era when Saturday morning cartoons were worth it. You get up early in the morning and eat cereal in front of the T.V. in your pajama's Damn those were the days.

  • AMEN BROTHER....AMEN!!!!!!

  • i wanna cry

  • So do I.....I miss those days alot!!

  • O loved this music!:D

  • ...and Danny Wells, who I just remembered as Luigi from the Super Mario Bros Super Show.

  • Comment removed

  • And I will also add that Levi and Saban are AWESOME composers! Heathcliff is my favourite music from them!

  • Familiar names in the credits...

John Kricfalusi (Ren and Stimpy) at 0:13 and the next screen lists Tom Tatoranowicz as a storyboarder (he's the man behind Biker Mice from Mars)

    COOL!

  • I like this cartoon ..............

  • What happened was that around '86 or '87, all those people went their separate ways after Andy Heyward bought DiC from Jean Chalopin. After all that happened, DiC became entirely an American company, no longer did it span three countries (France, US and Japan). Also, I personally feel that the work from the Heyward-era DiC just wasn't nearly as innovative or interesting as the Chalopin-era DiC. Without Jean Chalopin, DiC just wasn't DiC anymore, he was the real driving force behind the studio.

  • Shame things always go downhill when companies change hands...

  • How did u find this information?

  • Did some research on the web, from Wikipedia and other places.

  • nothin beats the 80's cartoons

  • You got that right. These shows had some GREAT music.

  • Her name is Cleo (my GoogleFu was strong) :)

  • Wow its been 25 years ago since this debuted! How time flies!

    Great cartoon! The 80's rocked!

  • I know. The 80s was a mystical era for a lot of people. This was one of my top favorite cartoon shows from way back in the day. Times like these will never be forgotten.

  • since 1984

  • I always wondered if those three male cats were on drugs.

    They always seemed stoned.

Especially the siamese-looking guy with the headband.

  • WHOA-O-O-O-O-OOOOOOO

  • Actually I found a compilation set at a local supermarket - 3 episodes of both Heathcliff and The Catillac Cats. All for $5...best $5 I ever spent. No DiC or LBS logos though :(

  • I noticed the names of Jean Chalopin, Andy Heyward, Lori Crawford, and Bruno Bianchi. These people were the pioneers of all the DiC Cartoons and produced and/or developed some really good cartoons in the '80s such as Heathcliff (seen here), Inspector Gadget, The Littles, Dennis the Menace Cartoon Series, Ghostbusters Cartoon Series(based on the hit movie), and others.

But once most of those people left, DiC was never really the same without them.

  • LOGO???

  • I wish Boomerang will air this cartoon as well as Inspector Gadget. I love 80s cartoons.

  • Yeah, why isn't Boomerang showing the GOOD cartoons like this one?

  • Good question... very good question.... the 80's were a goldmine of cartoons and 2 my knowledge they show the smurfs and snorks and the snorks suck...has to be licencing issues which sux also

  • Don't forget 90s, like tiny toons, animaniacs, well basically all the old WB toons.

  • @sumdude4

It is now on This TV

  • @sumdude4 would be great :p but boomerang is meant to play hanna barbera-made cartoons

  • @STBNY If that was true, they wouldn't be playing ben10 and pokemon on there as well :P

  • @sumdude4 True! but I just remembered that WB, CN and boomerang are Aired by TIme Warner. Notice how some (not all) Kids WB/CW Kids cartoons like pokemon are transfered to CN then to boomerang LOL. But I do wish for what you wished for. A REAL Cartoon Network. The reason why we can't watch all of our favorites is because of copyright bull crap.

  • @STBNY HA! Soooo true. At least CW is airing looney tunes again, but not many thanks to today's culture. Alot of it won't fly with today's thanks to what they consider racial and "tasteless".

  • @sumdude4 I agree and I'm gad to know it's back on. They Bring 'em back because they admit that cartoons from back then are better XD

  • @sumdude4

Some of them were legitimately racist...others you could argue are bad in other ways, but no worse than anything on today (for slapstick violence or whatever). The racist ones are just a small percentage anyway.

Also, fun story: As a kid, I was banned from watching Looney Toons because my parents thought it was too violent. Specifically because a copied the phrase "I'll murder the bum" from that dog form the Foghorn Leghorn cartoons.

  • @sumdude4 they showed the one that aired on abc with marmaduke this one prob not this one:/

  • one of the character designer assistants was John Kricfalusci the creator of ren and stimpy.

  • I watchig Heatcliff in the Fox Kids

  • How many writers does a cartoon need?

  • A lot to make it good. And this was one of the best cartoons ever

  • Enough to write 65 episodes worth of stories in one season.

  • such a catchy song !!! this was back in the day when cartoons were a-w-e-s-o-m-e. cartoons arent even on saturday mornings anymore. are they???

  • i remember riff raff in a heathcliff episode but as a background character.. when heathcliff fights with a dog, cats were cheering for heathcliff, also riff raff..

  • i have this show on DVD

  • i wich i want some karaoke version

  • The only time we ever see Heathcliff and Riffraff together is here in the closing credits, when Riffraff snatches his hat back from Heathcliff.

  • i have always wondered why they were never in the same episode.. and i also wondered why heathcliff doesn t do anything when riff raff takes his hat..

  • I think it'd be cool if Heathcliff could see Riffraff's every move and made him struggle to get his hat back from him.

  • they did that because different writers created Heathcliff and Riff Raft/Cleo only three charactors that appeared in both was Woodsworth, Mundo, and Hector.

  • Because it's actually Riff Raff's hat to begin with?

  • Notice that Ren and Stimpy creator John Kricfalusi is credited in 0:13

  • i like the drumming

  • BEST CARTOON EVER!!!!!!!

  • No closing logos this time, but at least s2 close with Dic and the other closing credits of this show with both. S2 close it poorer quality here.

  • does anny one know what the program name is on swedish?

  • Mungo reminds me of Tummy from Disney's Gummy Bears.

  • The ending shows more Rifraff than Heathcliff, lol

  • That's because Riff Raff is cooler than Heathcliff.

  • this cartoon was the shit! they need to school house rock back on sat. mornings. so these kids can learn some stuff!

  • 1:33 So that's what they do when Riff-Raff's not around? lol

  • *0:33

  • For some reason, that, and Riff Raff snatching his hat back from Heathcliff were my favorite parts of the credits.

  • My favorites are Mungo getting pied in the face and Hector trying to kis Cleo's hand and Wordsworth crashing into him.

  • Yeah. It's funny how Hector is hitting on his boss's girlfriend. LOL

  • Thats one hawt pussy, wait what?

  • Comment removed

  • intro????? no is ending
