You are really fast. You should be between 160 and 180 KIAS at landing.

You really need to be sure about what you're saying before you correct someone because you too are wrong. In the 738 the approach speed is anywhere between 130 and 145 and landing speed is usually somewhere between 125 and 135 but, mind you, these numbers can change based on weight. But I've never seen a 738 land, let along approach, at 160-180 knots.

I think he only used about 1 degree to 10 degrees of flaps... but do you really have to land with full flaps? Because I thought you could land with 0 to full flaps, but it is just that full flaps and a low airspeed is more desirable...

yeah but in a short TNCM runway having no flaps on landing is very undesirable, because it requires a higher airspeed on landing, however the deceleration rate in FSX is very unrealistic.

flaps are part of the wing. they move down to help slow the aircraft down and to keep it flying during landings. during take-off they give the aircraft enough lift to take-off from the runway.

yup... a flaps main purpose is to produce lift at lower airspeeds (and with lift there is always some degree of drag). however, after a certain number of degrees they also produce even more drag.

Don't be so sure about that, I have FS2004 & I can put wingviews. It depends what kind of aircraft you have, freeware or payware you can have wingview & with a program called active camera, you can add realism to the camview of the wing.

Overall good landing. Only advice is that the speed looks a too high (not sure what you had but 145 knots is a good landing speed). Try to stay with the glideslope as much as you can. Good job not overflying the runway.

Hi, this is your captain speaking, prepare for a 250 knot landing. Ouch that landing hurt, 140-160 knots is landing for this aircraft, i can't see the knots but looking at the passenger view you had no flaps down, LOL, sad. You touched down nice and soft but you chewed up so much runway, and by looking at you had no flaps down ouch. Bad landing.

there is no ILS at juliana, he could have land with the GPS but you wont land straight (or not even on the runway) as GPS aint as accurate as the ILS beacons. But this is probably done by hand :).

When i land i cant seem to turn the engines off. F1 does something but it does not turn them off. Brakes dont seem to hold and i have to steer round the runway thru the fence to stop. Taxiing back is impossible as i cant stop once i get going. Any ideas? Very difficult to land as i have to be very low way out to get it down. Whats happening??

F2 just idles the engines. After you press F2, hold F1 for reverse thrust and apply brakes and spoilers. Once you stop, hit F2 again to idle the engines.

Work on it dude, i'm private pilot. At the beggining you was already above the glide. The PAPI (Precision Approach Path Indicator) shows all lights yellow. You've crossed the rwy mark below 50ft. Landed without flaps, spoilers disarmed, took off the spoilers before the correct speed, airspeed during touchdown above 140kias ('cause of the flaps)...

A flap is a part of the wing that moves up and down. They go in degrees, for the 737 it is: 1,2,5,10,15,20,35,40 (full). They help the plane maintain a constant speed AND they also help the plane fly at low speed (such as for landing) so that it does'nt stall.
