This is one of Norman Connors' last albums...featuring Adaritha... its a great album and didn't make the charts. Sometimes I think radio producers do not know good music.....
don't know about Glenn Jones, BUT THOSE WOMEN SINGING THE HARMONIES ARE FROM HEAVEN, THEY MAKE THE SONG. In these Post Reagan and Thatcher Noughties, where women were brainwashed into thinking they were men, it is great to hear women ACTUALLY SINGING LIKE THEY WERE REALLY IN LOVE WITH THEIR MEN. Not like the spice girls, bullshit and the formulaic beyonce, with some poor hunks dancing effeminately behind her, and don't even start me off with gaga, $50 billion worth of horse SHIT.
I played this song OUT!!!! Not many people knew this was Glenn Jones doing the vocals on this song. I also loved the collaboration with Phyllis Hyman on "Betcha By Golly" on "You Are My Starship".
I first heard this track in 1988 - many years after it's release, on a Slow Jam show while on a trip in Baltimore, MD. I never found out who the artist was, and relied on a static filled audio cassette recording of half the song from that radio program. Fast forward twenty years - I'm going through old cassettes and hear this song again - brings back so many memories. After twenty years of life expereinces the song's meaning is much more profound. Thanks for posting. Peace and God Bless
Glenn Jones is very underrated! One of my favorite jams EVER
