But I am a bit confused. The plane in the High5 footage at the wide shot is only one-half line tall? Yes? Or, did I misunderstand something at pumpitout?
If we are not being tricked (first no plane in wide shot; now there is a plane in the wide shot), then we might have something to go on.
You understood it right (0.5 lines for the fuselage on TV) BUT they had something like a BETACAM at the helicopter. A BETA-tape records about 800 lines and an analog horizontal signal for all 3 colors separately. The original footage should show the plane also prior to the zoom in.
Without the original BETA everything depends on how the signal was processed. e.g. Compression takes a field of pixels and averages color and brightness. So a good TV source should show at least a blurry "shadow".
Not sure what the point is. CameraPlanetArchive has tons of cell phone camera footage from all over the city.
