I just realised that the lyrics are a 4 line variation of an etheree (type of poem), in 4 stanzas. It's always nice to find lyrics that are poetry and retain beauty and meaning outside of the song.
@ronniedillon Youd probably like The Horrors "Primary Colours" album and the latest album "Skying". Not entirely the same, but they have that guitar style.
It's all over as far as this band are concerned they ended music byt making the FIRST REAL album ever made only one other Talk Talk spirit of Eden tat;s it job done music over nobody will ever touch this ever GENIUS
wow. Everyone. This year, I found myself. Did anyone here had always had their own style without following anyone else and finally found something that was like them? I do. Ladytron and My Bloody Valentine. Incredible!! astonishing!
I just can't imagine how wonderful and breathtaking it is. Those spectral images of making LOVE - not sex, but LOVE - sinking in the sea of pink noises gives you feeling safe, inner peace, undiscovered happiness. This is simply love turned into the music.
I remember the first time I heard it...I remember laughing, pointing out to my mum that I was listening to a song that was pretty much just noise. because to my ears at the time, it just sounded like radio static, white noise, god knows. but there was something there that actually compelled me, and it revealed itself to me like a magic eye picture.
this is the only track that lowers my mood from this cd. the only reason i can think of why this is to me is the warped guitar sound. i always want to listen to uplifting tracks (aka blown a wish) almost immediatly after hearing this, idk why something about it just sounds like loss to me.
they were ahead of their time, it seems like they regret not doing "enough" while they were embracing their teenage experience. I wish I could tell them in person they left a stepping stone for us out there trying to push the music scene.
20 years on and it hasn't dated a second. I didn't get it at first, or even like it. But sometimes you dislike things you can't understand fully. Once it sunk into me, it took me to another world. Simply sublime.

I agree fully. I really disliked the album upon my initial listen, so it took a long time for me to really appreciate it. I wonder if I should have gotten my feet wet with, say, Slowdive's "Souvlaki" then progressed to "Loveless." I think one needs to be in the correct frame of mind to enjoy this style of music, but once it's achieved, the reward is one of the greatest musical experiences a person can have.
@circletyrant If my bloody valentine never existed and were a 2011 band, they still will be as visionary and modern as they were...or may be more thinking about the rock scene today.
I can't have enough of this symphony. Brian Eno described it as the "vaguest piece of music to have ever entered the top 50".

This LP apparently cost £250,000 to make, and nearly bankrupted the record label. This song alone proves it was worth it.

The drums, guitar and keyboard parts along with Bilinda's vocals were sampled on the original track while members of the band were homeless.
That's what makes this track so unique.

@seifukusha the drums were sampled in some of the songs, or changed to sound sampled to give an old feel to them.
