I am a recovered fibromyalgic who left the care of the medical profession to discover the cause and cure for this horrific disease after 15 years of failed treatments. I understand this illness completely from the inside and back out again. Symptoms are often mistaken as a cause and what can help does not cure. Please, do not give up and keep going.
See my You Tube video "Curing Chronic Fibromyalgia - Choosing What Works" and my best wishes to you all!!!
Amazing! Even without the makeup you're beautiful. By the way, this is Reid, from Consciousness. When I learned you have a son only 4 years my junior, I had to (and still) wonder how on earth you stay so young!
Hi, I love your videos on how to apply the make-up. I went to the website you suggested and read the spoon theory story. It was really interesting. I have Fibromyalgia and many have said the same thing to me...But you don't look sick...also..if you have a little free time and feel like it on your YouTude page it is purple background. How do you get backgrounds? I am fairly new to all this stuff and my page is pretty bare. Take care and Thank-you again for the wonderful videos.
I can understand people saying, "But you don't LOOK sick!" out of surprise when one looks (at least relatively) healthy, and I can even consider it a compliment. But it does get so old all the same. Especially when it's said by doctors, or people who know me well, etc. It gets tiring explaining what "invisible diseases" are over and over!
My background is actually an image. You can have an image for your background if it's hosted on a web site and you have the URL. :)
i watch this a motivation to take the extra care, of myself... and start to do extra care, ie.. when getting up put on the make up.. make myself look good. Pain is unbelieve able but i can still look good!
Oh, I don't wear makeup every day. I did make a bit of an "overstatement" in this video, in saying that "no matter how much pain or fatigue one is experiencing, this can be done" (or however I phrased it). I do have days when I simply can't do it; those are the days that getting to the restroom or kitchen are nearly miraculous. ;)
However, I went nearly ten years applying makeup extremely rarely. It wasn't until I looked sick all the time that I started wearing it frequently again. :)
I wish I could say otherwise, but the last few days have been some of the worst EVER. :(
Tomorrow I'm contacting one of the local health insurance plans that is an "alternate" for MedicAid.... my mom used to work for them as a case manager (she's an R.N.; severely disabled & already retired); she endorses this particular one. She says they give more coverage than straight MedicAid, and the MRI that is needed and has been ordered should be approved by them. I should get REAL help soon! :)
This is a creative masterpiece. Truly... One of your most compelling videos yet. I gave you a five-star rating for overall excellence. Actually, I took a special interest in this, because of the 25 years I worked as a fashion/glamour photographer in Hollywood CA. Yup !!!! Effective Make-up can spell the difference between "dazzle" or mediocrety. In your case, it's awesome. --- Keep up the good work. --- Smiles and Hugs, from Tom, in Florida
I do these "K.I.S.S." videos in the hopes of helping others who, like myself, have too much pain and too little energy, and want to look in the mirror without seeing such a sick/tired-looking reflection staring back at them. ;)
Being able to do less and less physically, I feel more "useful" knowing that I might be helping even just one person's quality of life.... even if only for a moment through a tip or a smile. :)
Ha-Ha.... That is.... if you were directing your remark to ME. -- Yup, I'm not sure which "TOM" you were referring to. (There's 2 of us, I think). --- Anyway, Happy Tuesday, you beautiful lady.
Having worked in the industry for so long, your opinion on "effective makeup [...] spelling the difference between dazzle or mediocrity" means a lot to me when you give positive feedback on my little tutorial vids. :)
Tom is quite a common name; and is the name of my Life Partner In Crime; A.K.A., my soul mate. ;)
i might try eyeshadow... i've never known where to put it - like, where to stop. i did try that damn maybelline lip color once - ONCE - and i slipped when i applied it and couldn't get it off my face for anything. so, at the end of the ordeal, i looked like i just to a face dive into a brick wall. lol
My mom did makeovers for Merle Norman when she was very young, and when I won the "fight" about makeup she said if I was going to wear it, I was going to learn how to apply it properly. LOL! She taught me a lot, and I got my "eye" for it from her.
If you ever want to learn a few simple tricks (such as how/where to apply eyeshadow, or fixing the OOPS things like the long-lasting lip color), we can always do a "private/live" chat on Stickam. Let me know if you'd like to. :)
It's 87 degrees right now, 6:30pm.... and still March! Went to turn on the cooler this afternoon, only to find that it wouldn't turn on, dammit! Called the landlord, he's sending the repairman out.... hopefully by tomorrow, I can NOT take this heat, it's already making me more sick!
I'd rather have the blizzard - one can always bundle (or cuddle) up more, but can only strip so far. LOL
I normally wear light/neutral lip colors, but ran out and am too broke right now to buy more. Hence the darker shade, which I generally reserve for performances.
RE: the shadows under the eyes.... that takes a LOT of makeup and time/work. It's partially from chronic illness and partially genetic (a LOT of Jewish ethnicity).
This vid was about speed, ease, and looking less sick/tired; not being made up to perfection. ;)
I have a habit of pushing my hair behind my ears. LOL

you look nice - but I'd chosen a lighter lip colour and would have taken care of the shadows under the eyes as well...
And with the hair kept back you actually look gorgeous if I may be so bold.
have fun, whatever the occasion
