  • According to this Mahabharat, Bhim was the only one that killed all of Gandhari's sons

  • Total industry History, and Philosohy is full of Logic,of the times. But you can never understasnd the logic with respect to the Time, place and Location from History.Even in the contemparory world you cannot compare Logic,of living from one country to another.

  • Arjun explained why he needs only introduce himself as 'Dronashishya'.

So why can't Karna introduce himself as 'Parshuram Shishya', and no more? He could have avoided the whole embarrassment.

Then again, logic is incompatible with the Mahabharata.

  • Thanks for the video

  • I understand that Kunti couldn't say that Karna is her oldest son. However, why couldn't Suryadev say that he is my son. This way atleast he can say that he is Suryadev's son. Nobody needs to know that he is Kunti's son.

  • @jiggie181 Logic has no place in mythology. Quit asking logical questions, and accept all this in blind belief as other Indians do.

  • true but karan did also regret what he did that tha's what made Him great read Mahabharat and see a night before the war start krishna did also meet karan

  • that's call mace fight without any stupid background music .

  • At last karna goes to his father and says "BABA" in a softer tone. I have seen a version where he said "PAPA" and in louder tone. May be its editted later and I saw uneditted.

  • Kunti(Nazneen) is incredibly beautiful !!

  • @ arnabdiatm

If you the story between Arjun and Karn in KRSNA KRSNA there you see how Lord KRSNA praised Karn. The truth is also in the fight in Mahabharat Arjun was protected By Lord Krsna and Lord Hanuman so without those protection Arjun was killed by the hands of Bishma Pitama

  • a wariors are not great untill they stand for good and karna was standing the other side the truth and it does not matter who is greater than other but the cause for which one fight that becomes greater than people ...

  • Love it!! I <3 Krishna and Arjun...

  • Don't forget viraat war where arjun single handedly defeated every body. Arjun fraught against all big warriors including Bhisma, drona, karna, aswathama etc. He fraught against Indra also. But karna never faced any of those. He even failed to defeat abhimanyu. I want o say karna may be danveer and a great warrior but no way any body can prove that karna is better than arjuna( I am not saying arjuna is better than karna also).

  • hmm, if i had that power now, i would use archery to switch on the tv, drive a car and get me hotel food

  • @s0ulfire lol

  • I wonder if an ultimate divyastra like Brahmastra or Narayanastra would have killed Karna assuming he was just standing there defenseless but still wearing his kavach & kundal.

  • After all, only Yudhistir got chance to go to Heven directly. That means, what all other Pandava or Kurava or Karna did was not only right deed. Arjun is not a god. But he could follow laws of Dharma and Karma. That is why one is admired.

  • According to me, Karna was a much greater warrior than Arjun. At birth he was rejected by his mother. On the battlefield against Arjun, Karna had lots of curses placed on him. Parshurama cursed him, and it was not Karna's fault, because even Karna didn't know that he was a kshatriya. Plus he defeated all the Pandavas on the battlefield but just wanted to kill Arjun, as he promised kunti. He gave his kavach and kundal to Indra. It was not a fair fight between him and Arjun. Karna was much greater

  • @Nemkesh Just pointing out Parashuram wouldn't have taught Karna even if he was Kshatriya. He blamed Kshatriya class for all kinds of bad deeds against society in general.

  • Duryodhan has shown more moral than all. Caste system of India has brought the whole society down.

  • The moral of this great epic is lack of control over base instincts like greed, jealousy, can lead to destruction of this world..we need to learn from this and apply it in our daily lives and remember that these greatest of heroes also perished due to their lack of control over these instincts..

  • @roydebarry Dear Blessed Soul, There is a big misconception in understanding the Mahabharat, the war that took place is a reference to the state of mind when one starts to practice meditation. The human body comprises of good qualities (Devi sampath) and bad qualities (Asuri sampath), the struggle to win over the bad qualities is called as Mahabharat. All characters are either a good/bad quality (Vikaar). contd...

  • @roydebarry ...contd but even the strongest bad quality can be won by the blessings of a Sadguru (Krishn in this case). Please listen to Yatharth Geeta, never has Bhagavad Gita been explained so clearly and in so much in depth. It is hence its is called as 'Yatharthgeeta', you can download the mp3 of your choice of language from the website yatharthgeeta. com OR search for 'yatharthgeeta' right here on youtube OR go to youtube. com/user/foryatharthgeeta to get a quick preview. • wish all of them would have shown same brotherhood like in ramayan then the future of india would have been different.... so many divinie knowledge and so many great people were lost in this battle....that the use of mantra powered weopeons came to extinct..... at the end all is lords wish..!!!

  • @pragyanolya ...contd but even the strongest bad quality can be won by the blessings of a Sadguru (Krishn in this case). • they dont have flexebility they need to do more flexible exercise

  • entry of karn is too good

  • Duryodhana was a legend take on all 5 he had bals

  • This was the memorable episode where it all began....

Dhrishtrashtra asking Vidur: "Yeh kya ho raha hai?!!!"

    :D

  • yeh muslamni baccha kyuin Easha bolta hai

  • @dharandragon i m waiting. lets see ur allah is coming or not?

  • can someone tell me in which episode there is this song which Rukamani sings for Krishna "Winati suniye nath hamari"".

I remember listening to it when I was kid but couldn't find it here.

  • it is in episode 27 starts around the end of the episode

  • nice episode

  • The guy who plays ashwathama is such a good actor. He was great in ghajini.

  • ya he done a such a nice job

  • karna was a kaunteya still he liked himself to be called radheya because she baught him up.. he was the jyeshtha pandav .. so determent that even sri krisna could not bring him to their side even after tellin him the truth... JAI SURYAPUTRA KARNA.. PRANAM

  • kunti looks beautiful

  • Karna's life is filled entirely with rejections, humiliations and ridicule by all around him except for the friendship and love he gets from DuryodhanaHe was unparalleled in philanthropy and magnanimity rightly earning him the title of "Danveer". He offered his impregnable kawach and kundals to a disguised Indra knowing well his true identity and intentions.Karna is arguably the real hero of Mahabharata apart from lord Krishna himself.

  • @ashish4360 ..sure For such an epic wisdom who can else be a light for us to see through..but Karna ?

  • @ashish4360 you dont no about karna because you haven't read Mahabharat in full and thats y u r praising him without praising Lord. Fault is not yours also in modern age there are some fool poets'writters, filmmakers, etc who has turned karna into a hero and thereby showing Pandavas fault. This was done just to publicize their books, films, etc. Just read Mahabharat completely an know that whatever karna was the equal partner of all bad deeds of duryodhana

  • While on soyambar karan had liftd the bow n was sure he would have hit the target..Lord krishna tells dropati not to choose him so he could not participate on the ocassion. After that when karan warns arjun ,arjun breaks his bow .Karan admits that few ppl in the whole world could only break his bow N walks away. But i dont think this is enough to tell that who is greater between two of them as they could have reached till bramastra.while the main battle was seen in between them on kurushetra.

  • Karan wouldn't have been able to use Bramhastra in a war because of Parshuram's curse. It is not that he did not try but the Brahmastra didn't come to him.

  • in Virat war ,karan ws made unconscious but not defeated.Defeated could only be used when the opponent gets killed or surrenders.Even after making unconscious if arjun had hit karan with arrow ,he would not have killed him Because karan had got the kawaj and kundal at that time n with that he was immortal.

  • Most of all through, Bhagvat gita..lord krishnn tells us who we are what is jeevathma and how to attain paramathma..glory to Lord krishna...Om name Bhagavate Vasudevaya

  • @ssvenks Dear Blessed Soul you are partially correct, Please listen to Yatharth Geeta OR Bhagavad Gita, never has Bhagavad Gita been explained so clearly and in so much in depth. It is hence called "Yatharthgeeta, you can download the mp3 of your choice of language from the website yatharthgeeta. com OR search for 'yatharthgeeta' right here on youtube OR go to youtube. com/user/foryatharthgeeta to get a quick preview. • This mythological story teaches some important things, such as don't accept favour blindly.Karana was gr8 but he gave his life to return the favour of Duryodhna.

Also it teaches that one should not make caste as the basis of choosing better person.

Also it is gr8 symbolic tht mom and dad when r blind towards kids, like gandhari and dhritrastr r not not seeing, then kids turn out not so intelligent.

Make promises with intelligence, gr8 pple like Bhishma made some promise & not can't get out

  • If you are living in racist world and some one comes from the thin air and supports you, its understandable that person will all of his wealth to that person.

Specially when your are considered as lower cast and not even allowed to touch other person, and person with higher authority honor you as king.

  • I was under impression, Bhim is really stronger than Duryodhan since he is a offspring of the mighty Pawan and in addition he had some drink from NagaKing which made him stronger.

I feel like Karna's story is a real life story. My education has SUN but is in enemy's place. I can smell that- and relate it to Karna's fate.

  • Gandiva was Arjun's bow not his arrow. I hope you can change your user name.

  • I don't know why people keep fighting Karna vs Arjun....

Both are great warriors and good people in their own ways..>

According to comparing Arjuna and Karna is very analogous to comparing Sachin and Lara in cricket. According to me, both are great in their won ways.....

  • nodoubt karna is the best

  • ye i agree

  • Arjun, Bhima and Kripacharya actually look like vilains here

  • in this episode the real hero is Duryodhan. and these so called learned people, all these gurus and kings are very cunning people.

  • true but the only reason he took karn was because he looked like a promising rival for arjun. but the premise is true that in this episode duryodhan looked past birth and to action. (which is a major theme of this poem)

  • Karn was clearly more talented. He didn't have a great teacher like Drona. He didn't have a sarathi like Kirshn and yet Krishn had to save Arjun from Karn by setting the sun early.

  • The incident is not recorded according to Mahabharat Text written by Veda vyas. I don't know which source was used by the makers of the serial.

On day 16, Karna comes to battle field in tremendous FORM, so much so that Krishna says to Arjuna that it is better to avoid fighting directly with Karna today. So, Arjuna's chariot takes a U-turn. The war that is shown takes place on day 17 though. (Sarpastra et al incidents)

  • This is clearly wrong - Karna had Parsuram as his teacher, who was Drona's teacher.

  • lmfao karns teacher was parshuram, arguably a better teacher than drona.

  • that may be true in many ways... but it also depends on the Student...

In the final Battle Karna's Armors were taken away,

Arjun travels in many places to ehnance his abilities and had Krishana as his chariator... Then Arjun was able to defeat Karna...

There was a Time Arjun Defeated Parshuram's two students Bheesmapitama and Karna along with others while he was in hiding...

(it was almost towards the end of the hiding to show how powerful Arjun had become)...

  • @TheShotokanWarrior by hiding I mean Exile.

  • Buddy u did a great job.. thnks a lot for all des vdos

  • Sootputra means the son of a "Shudra".

  • That's actually not true. "Sootputra" means the son of a charioteer.

  • Charioteer were counted in the category of "Shudras". Since Karna was known as the son of Adhirath, the charioteer of Dhritrashtra, That's why he was called "Sootputra".

  • that's fine, but there are many different jobs within the shudra category, charioteer being one of them. Therefore, Sootputra means the son of a chariotee.

  • And what makes you say that a charioteer was a shudra?

  • Sootputra means son f a charioteer as sootha is a charioteer

  • @Srilankan1983 how do u know?

  • BTW what is meant by 'sootputra'?

  • "Sootputra means the son of a person who rides the chariot"......

    Thank you

  • u mean sarathi's son?

    thank u

  • yep

  • everything is fair in love and war!!!! Lord krishna teaches.

  • ok guys...to me karna was a great warrior..he jus had really bad luk..his emotions his pain and wat he went through..even indra game down to earth and asked him for his kovach cause he knew that without taking his kovach arjun couldn't beat him..Karna had a curse frm his guru,,which was not his fault cause he never knew his past..despite all these things karna still battled..he had to take duryodan;s side cause he stood up for karna which no one ever did.karna to me was better than arjun

  • dont argue just for the sake of argument .... stop all crap and watch mahabharat!!!!!!!

  • Talent and hard work are required to achieve perfection. Both Arjun and Karna had these virtues. But Arjun was an incomplete warrior than Karna cos he killed Karna when Karna was unarmed. OK he got instructions from Krishna, so what? Arjun should have asked Krishna to take a walk and refused to fight an unarmed Karna.

Karna was an incomplete warrior than Arjun cos he could not differentiate good from bad and was always ready to promise away anything without giving a proper thought.

  • Karna was ghamandi, arrogant and he never stopped Duryodhan when he insulted Draupdi and never told him to take the right path. That's why Karna had to die in the battle

  • Excuse me... "had to die".. what do you mean bro? Everyone has to die...

Karna never told Duryodhan to take the right path... I agree. Why did Arjun get misled by Krishna to kill a unarmed Karna?

So when Karna makes a mistake he is bad but when Arjun does it he not bad.

Arrogance?? They never called him Karna... but "sootputra" karna. Thats not arrogance? Thats arrogance and racism. Cmon dude!!

  • arvindsdarwin,

    I agree with ur comments.

    Karna committed 2 errors:

    1) He participated along with other Kauravas in killing Abhimanyu who was cornered and attacked by multiple Kauravas.

    2) He insulted Draupadi along with Duryodhan and Dusshashan.

These two adharmic acts are what doomed him. As such he was doomed, after being aligning himself with Duryodhana, no matter what ever his justication might be.

  • Karna had a problem with his commitments. And in those days honouring commitments was too important. This guy would commit anything and then suffer rest of his life for it. You just ask and he will give it to you. He committed himself to Duryodhan.

I dont think insulting Draupadi is a crime. Vastraharan by Dushasan was wrong and should be condemned. Karna had been insulted all his life, he was called sootputra. Duryodhan felt insulted by Draupadi's remarks when he fell in knee deep water.

  • Karna like Dronacharya was an ati-rathi he could have taken any ratha he wanted. Watch the episode where Bhima breaks Dronacharyas ratha 8 times, but Drona didn't ask Bhima to wait he would instantiate another ratha and take it and fight Bhima. The fact is Karna was extremely disappointed that his call for Brahmastra failed, so he went down to take his ratha out. He could have taken another one, Arjuna had made a call for divyastra, Karna was dead anyway.

  • @r8rdarklord Agreed that Karna was an ati-rathi... for some reason, known only to Karna, he goes down to take out the wheels of his rath. Arjun should have waited for Karna to get back in action... and not shoot an unarmed Karna.

Karna might have done several wrongs including being a part of Abhimanyu's slaughter by 8 warriors. If Arjun also repeats the wrong I dont know why should he be admired. Arjun was on right side but did not use right means to achieve success.

  • Let me tell you something. Sootputra is not what you think it is. Soot is not the same as sudra. Athirathi (Karna's foster son) was the charioteer of the King, an honored position. I feel this serial distorts the use of "sootputra"

  • Karna had it coming to him because he killed Abhimanyu when Abhimanyu didn't have any weapons and was felled to the ground by 8 kaurava warriors.

  • When will Arjuna be punished for killing Karna when he didnt have any weapons. An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

In the end in Mahabharat, although Duryodhan was defeated but Adharma prevailed over Dharma.

The war against Adharma was won by practicing Adharma.

  • You are having tunnel vision, look at Mahabharata in totality and not just the war. Duryodhana etal commited crime after crime and got away with it. Karna was his willing partner and supporter in these acts. BTW, a war is a declaration of an eye for an eye, so I don't know what you are talking about.

In the final equation Adharma didn't prevail over Dharma, look at it in totality not just the isolated incidents.

  • @r8rdarklord karna was not a willing partner. he opposed shakunis and his friend's proposals of kapat many times but in vain then he stopped opposing as it made his dearest friend unhappy. but he always knew at heart that they were wrong and always repelent

  • Karna was the greatest archer ..... The kavach and kundal was for his protection but in Krukshetra despite of donating Kavach and Kundal he showed courage and fought with Arjuna...Krishna knew very well that Karna is likely to win Arjuna....so HE made the Karna's chariot wheel to get stuck in mud and ask Arjuna to shoot Karna.....Irony of Mahabharat

  • You should watch that episode again - you are mixing facts. Karna's chariot was stuck in mud because of a Brahmin's shrap - Krishna had nothing to do with it. Prior to that incident, Karna made a call for Brahmastra and it didn't come because of Parshuram's shraap. Karna would have lost because Krishna wanted Arjuna to use divyastra on Karna.

  • Both karan and Arjun had injuries in that war due to a good fight. Regarding Drupad battle Karan was not fighting as per the history since Guru Dhrona wants only his students to give the Gurudakshina and prohibited Karan from going to Drupad battle. But the story shown in this video is different with Karan going back from battle due to the death of his chariot rider. For comment on swayamvar loss Arjun had the best bow (shiv danush) which was kept in the table where as karan had the normal bow.

  • Duryodhana still went with an army + the flag to defeat Drupada and lost. Also, stop making excuses for Karna he lost to Arjuna every time.

  • @ramanaganapathy very well said . i really like your point

  • Arjune is a great archer and its no doubt. But Karan has proved himself to be superior by winning in the final battle before his death and Lord Krishna saved dharma by making the Sun to set. Also for those who think Karan lost in virat battle- Don't forget Karan was made unconscious and not defeated.

  • Karna was made unconscious by Arjuna, means Arjuna could have killed him if he wanted. Also, at the behest of Duryodhana when Karna tried to fight Arjuna in the garb of Brahmana, he lost again. When did Karna ever win against Arjuna to claim that he was a better archer than Arjuna?

  • And if Arjun and Karna has fought in the match above Karna would have probably won by a margin. That is because he has the kavach and kundal and his mind was not yet polluted by adharma. the moral of the story is that even the greatest warrior when on the side of adharma will fail.

  • Karna had the kavach & kundala in the Virat war and still lost to Arjuna. People need to read Mahabharata carefully - Arjuna beat Karna every time in a one - on -one battle. Karna was beaten atleast three times in a one - on -one battle with Arjuna.

  • Karna was a great warrior. With his kavach and kundal and being the eldest of the padavas and a disciple of Parushrama he could have achived greatness than Bheeshma acheived. But thats the irony in Mahabharata and in life. He was unfortunate enough to be abndoned by Kunti, and during the rang samaroh above he became indebted toduryodhana. So despite having everything, he lost everything and could never become as great as he should have. Its a lesson that life can be unfair.

  • This is the lesson Mahabharata and Lord Shri Krishna - Don't be so blind in your love or indebtedness to somebody that it forces you to leave the path of Dharma. Both Dhritarashtra & Karna did that and suffered the consequences.

  • karna...the greatest warrior and character in mahabharath....

  • Karna was the superior warrior of all the princes !! He defeated each and every one of them in battle in Kurukshetra

  • He was Defeated by Arjun. in Matsya Yudh..

  • You r right, he was. A little correction. It was Virat Yudh. Besides, during Swayamvar, he was again dominated by Arjun.

  • U r right about Virat Yudh, but it was one war. Doesnt prove anything.

U r wrong about the Swayamvar. Karna had done everything, but it was Draupadi who said no to a "Suta putra". He wasnt dominated by Arjun at all. Besides Arjun was in disguise, which is why Karna wasnt ready at the time.

  • U r right, he was defeated by Arjun in Virat war, but that doesnt mean anything, getting beaten in 1 war.

Arjun was the superior archer, but Karna was the superior warrior overall, in mace, sword, archery, chariots, everything.

Parshuram was a better guru than Drona and Karna is Parshuram's disciple.

    Drona is himself Parshuram's disciple.

  • u are all forgetting, that even without kundal and kavach and Krisha besides Arjuna, Karan did not leave his friend, did not fear anyone, when you have Krishna on your side... who would dare fight you? another thing is why did dhronacharya ask for eklavya's thumb? and indra came for kundal and kavach? these people were racist. anyone who calls a great warrior a 'sood puttar' is obviously a modren day skinhead.

  • You mean casteist..they all belonged to the same race.

  • Also in reality Karna was Arjun's elder brother, and therefore superior to him in every respect. He was just on the wrong side of the Mahabharat story because of bad luck and judgement. But as a warrior he was the greatest among them all. Nobody else had the kavach and kundal.

  • At the end of swayamvar, karna invites arjuna for a fight, and arjuna wins easily.

Moreover, Arjuna overcomes many warriors including Karna, at Virata yudh. It proves much. With no sena, alone against many great warriors... proves a lot. And Arjuna did not kill any of them, though he could.

About Kavach and kundala - it was his by birth, not by himself. While Arjuna got all divyashtra by his efforts and hardwork.

  • I think he ws in the wrong side not by bad kluck, but he chose to be in wrong side. Besides, he calls draupadi a veshya, and many times he opposes pandava just show his gratitude to duryodhana. In terms of eligibility he was the best, but not the decent one.

In a gfight to capture Drupad, arjuna plays a lead role and gets him. While Karna could not do it even with a sena and duryodhana. After that war only, drupad wants his daughter to marry Arjuna.

  • Karna was born with Kavach & Kundal, that doesn't make him superior to others. There were Drona & Bhishma who earned the right to die when they wanted to - they couldn't be killed by anybody including Karna & Arjuna.

  • Karan was great warrior

  • Everybody loves Arjun!!!

  • Great Point!!!!!

    Arjun is a loveable character.

He is Bhisma's favourite grand son

    He is Drona's favourite Shishya

    He is Krishna's favourite cousin

He is also (secretly) Draupadi's favourite husband...

He is loved by everybody.. thats one thing I like about Arjun...

  • He is also the one who always loves to address Karana as Soothputra.

He is also the one who killed Karana when he was freeing his stuck rath.

  • When I said about the good things about Arjun, I am only referring to his character which made so many people love him. Somebody might call it luck. I will say it his personality.

    First point well taken.

One thing I never liked about Arjun is about how he used to refer to Karna as SootPutra... and also how he used to brag about hmself

But well, for the 2nd point, he just followed the order of Shri Krishna and Karna himself knew that such a thing is going to happen and mentally accepted it.

  • Karna was a great character in several ways but to make him hero, one need not slander another great character such as Arjuna.

I believe credit needs to be given where it is due.

He became everybody's favourite because of what kind of person he was and thats a thing I take as an inspiration from the Hero.

I am fan of Karna too particularly for his generosity.

And most definitely, one feels sympathy for him for his greatness had been under-recognized by everybody until his death.

  • He is also (secretly) Draupadi's favourite husband...?????????????? :)

how do you know about it.

  • It is revealed in Mahaprastanika Parva (17th Parva).

This is the Parva in which all Pandavas start their final journey. When they are climbing up the himalaya, Draupadi falls first and when Bheema asks Yudhi about it, Yudhistir says the same.
