  • FOOTBALL IS A TEAM SPORT.Montana is a system QB.Walsh made him.Nothing special in KC.Elway was better player.Elway not a system guy.Montana would not survive on Broncos

  • Joe is simply da best. Perid.

  • ...RINGS SAY ENOUGH FOR JOE BUD.... Just like SHAQ SAYS.. if you ain't got more then someone you can't talk on thier level.... and Joe is the best in history, next in line Terry Bradshaw

  • one of the best rivalries in the 90's.

  • JOHN ELWAY GREATEST QB EVER!!

  • @2373muon Remember when Montana was only great because he played for the Niners. Old as he was him and OLD Marcus Allen took the Chiefs 1 game away from the SB. Don't forget that same year the Chiefs beat Elway led Broncos and Young lead 49'ers . Plus the 55 pts a Montana lead blow out over Elway Broncos team in a SB Joe all over Elway any time 4 rings vs 2 . It's is all about the rings ask Marino

  • @2373muon Yeah, right. Elway had one last chance to beat Montana and FAILED in the MNF shootout...never mind losing 55-10 in the Super Bowl. Greatest ever would at least have made something happen with the weapons he had. Elway is one of the all-time greats, but come on...Montana is the man. Four Rings, 11 Super Bowl TDs and no interceptions.

  • Screw the Denver Donkeys.

I love my Kansas City Squaws.

  • I think that Joe was better on the 49ers on the chiefs he made 125 yards and had a concussion

  • @TheTyrantMA he was by far better with the 49ers, he was at the end of his career with the chiefs

  • @08WSChamps He had by far better years with the Niners still he led the Chiefs to 2 big regular season come from behind games 1 over the Elway led Broncos & 1 over the Young led Niners then leads the under dog Chiefs to the AFC Championship game. Joe was special; a great QB .

  • John Elway was usually the one pulling a last minute win in the 4t quarter...except perhaps when playing against Joe Montana. This was a great MNF game. These 2 QBs would own if they played today.

  • I went to 6 Denver Broncos games & this was 1 of them. It was a MNF game. We won the other 5 games I saw, but this one was the most memorable.

On our last drive we had a TD called back. Elway got so mad & on the next play he scrambled it in & spiked the ball harder than he ever has. Then Montana had to ruin everything by driving down the field & scoring a game winning TD with around 19 seconds kept.

  • I remeber this game I was a little kid, and it was a great game. I am a Elway fan and even though his team lost it was a great game to watch.

  • LOVE JOE, AND LOVE MY CHIEFS!!!!! Down with the DONKIES from denver

  • I was at this game, unbelievably entertaining considering how bad the Donkeys were under Wade Phillips. The final stats reflect that Montana passed for 393 yards to Elways 263 but 75 of Montana's came in the final minute of the game and until that last minute it was the tightest game I have ever been too. I remember hearing later that it was the greatest MNF game of all time, it was. This game was only the second and final time Montana would best Elway head to head. The 1990 SB the other.

  • Other than Brett's game this might have been the greatest monday night performance..prob the best one I ever saw..and I was like 10,11 at the time lol

  • I heard today on the ESPN radio coaches are only good for 2 W's per year. If that is true then using Bill Wash as the yard stick all the other coaches are - 2 games per yr. Any takers ? Bump me if you think other wise.

  • @tellthetruthg I think with as many close games you see in the NFL, the coaches are always a big factor in the decision making process, especially with less than two minutes remaining. Yes, it's the players that have to execute the plays, but it's the coaches with the experience that can tell you what plays should be called with the game on the line. What ESPN said there is far from true.

  • @cityhawk thanks for the RE. I'm with you I think coaches account for more than 2 w's per year, even discounting how much prep work they put in before the game even starts. John Wooden said it best not preparing well is preparing to fail. That aside know ing what plays to call and calling plays to set up the winning drive is crucial.

What I heard that day blew me away on the other hand it's their job to start an uproar to get ratings so I think that was the intention.

  • I'm watching this game right now on NFL Network! XD What memories!
