  • i have a 1991 sunbird and cost me last year just 1800 dollars in my country peru :D and i love it :D

  • a gutless piece of crap for under $9000, *facepalm*

  • I have a 92 Sunbird...da shiznizzles. 275,000 miles and still kickin. My stereo is worth twice the car, which isn't a hard feat. Pulled countless 180s. Uncle gave it to me on my 16th bday; I'm 24 and love it still. I make bank and still won't give it up for my next car: Subaru hatchback WRX STI.

  • @broken2004 only 30% of those pontiac sunbirds that came out of the Detroit factory were built strong and 9% of 1982 to 1993 sunbirds were still on the road , the rest of the pontiac sunbirds were Lemons and that 4-cylinder 2.0 engine was garbage, I had two pont.sunbirds with 2.0 engines and they were Lemons.

  • i love those cars

  • unleash the fury of the sunbird!

  • '

    no thank,,,

    i dont like this car

  • I had one.

It started nickle and dimin me had to let it go.

    I bawled.

  • I love my 93 :) I bought it from a friend who got it from her gramma so it was low on miles. It's rusty but my boyfriend is fiberglassing all the rust and repainting it pink :D

  • The Tech-4 engine is the 2.5 liter which the J cars never had. The 2.0L was a Chevrolet engine design in which Pontiac swaped the cam from the block to the head to make an OHC engine the Cavaliers were OHV. The Tech 4 was a Pontiac engine the came out in 1977 to replace the aluminiun block 2300 engine. Many people don't know the the 2.5L was simply half of the Pontiac 4.9L 301 V-8.

  • Is this a good car for a teen's first car?

    how expensive are repairs?

    ...and how reliable are they?

  • The early J-bodys with the Tech-4 engine and TBI were pretty dang close to bulletproof as you could get engine-wise in a small american car. (The turbo is another matter though.) But if there's any sign of rust on the lower body, forgetaboutit. Later J-cars with Quad 4 could be fun, but it had issues with the gasket and head. Last gen models also got too fat with mandated safety stuff, and the extra pounds hurt their performance. They just didn't scoot or handle as well as their predecessors.

  • My '94 just turned 255ks last week. It's rusty but still runs like new and kicks ass in the snow. Will probably drive it into the ground before I get a new car.

  • @SouthshoreVice My 93 odometer stopped working at 186866 a year ago :( I have no idea what it's at now.

  • i have two whips my 2004 GMC Sierra and a willed Pontiac Sunbird the car is cool i am starting to drive it now to concerv fuel on my Sierra. for a 2.0 4 cylinder the thing is peppy as a 21 year old virgin

  • I still have my old sunbird 91.. 230,224 miles.. and runs great!!! it has just a crack on windshield.. red.. exactly like this one.. love this car.

  • $8684.....thats cheap....today all you can get for around that price is a slow ,cheap quality hyndai or kia

  • theirs my piece of shit

  • my parents had a 1987 Sunbird..base model four cylinder..the only options i think they had we're a cassette stereo and an automatic transmission..then again i was really really young when they had it lol

  • I have a 1990 Sunbird LE with 25 000 Km wich is about 15 530 miles and it Fuckin Rocks!!

  • My dad has a 1994 pontiac sunbird convertible limited edition with a white leather interior and a green body its beautiful

  • I still remember my very first car. 92 Sunbird LE sedan. Ran 86,000 miles without problems before I sold it to my co-worker in excellent shape. Despite having 2 accidents, the car just lasted without single problems.

    I miss that car sometimes.

  • i have a 1993 coupe LE with 167,161 miles and still runs like new

  • I love my sunbird

  • sunbirds are bad ass, im rollin in a 93 sunbird wouldnt give it up for nothing

  • I'm just saying that old American cars are nothing compared to what we have today, compare an old sunbird to a new Chevy Malibu, no comparison at all. I'm in the market for a 2003-05 Grand Am you should look at those they have much more safety equipment and are a lot faster.

  • The malibu also costs more than twice as much.

I miss the days of cheap cars. Today even $15,000 only gets you a boring ass G5.

  • wow America used to build some bad cars.

  • compared to what they are turning out today the 1990s era sunbird was the peak of automotive quality and excellence

  • try 1980s era

Imagine the economist today... "In the 2000s, GM will need a bailout".

  • I roll in a '94 sunbird

  • poor quality

  • ROFL 1.7 million miles??!! You really did take that car everywhere didn't you!

  • pos car....throw away...

  • my bad 170,000 miles wasnt payin a attention

  • I used to have one exactly like that, just sold it two months ago with 1700000 miles and still ran great, wish i still had it!!!!

  • 1.7 million miles, eh? How many motor rebuilds on that?

  • whats bullish?

  • "Bullish" refers to being optomistic, or confident. (Typically used referencing stock or investment growth.) In the context of the commercial however it seems like more of a FCC-friendly substitute for "bullshit" as the girl is blatantly disputing the professor's views.

  • i love my sunbird

  • What a piece of trash. It's little wonder why people eventually gave up on GM and bought imports.

  • Under $9000 for a new car.. those was the days =(

  • Great mileage my arse

  • The 'unconservative' Pontiac Sunbird??? From what I remember, in the early 1990s, GM were BOASTING about the car having new 'aerodynamic' rear DRUM brakes - when its competitors were going to 4wheel disc ABS!!! - As for the rest of the car, it was dated...

  • BULLISH!

  • after 1999 everything sucked ass

  • This is so true! It's the year mercedes killed their last attractive design S-CLASS... but to me personally, the best year for cars was 1995.

  • lol so true so true

  • Cheesy, but good and something you can understand, unlike most new Car ads that talk about stuff totally besides the car

  • This is so cheesy.
