I'm a conservative but draw the line at yelling at people as if God Himself, and telling them things as their judge and jury.

We are to preach the gospel and let the Holy Spirit do the convicting. I do not agree with the methods he employs, but we still need to let people know that what they are doing is wrong. How to do that lovingly is a tough one.

@JimDeferio I agree, that James is a man with a corrupted view of Christianity, but to say that he is an enemy of the cross of Christ is like saying that socks belong on people's feet. Each and every one of us were Jesus's enemies, and he died for us anyway. What we need to do is "exhort" those around us, like in 1 Timothy 5:1-2. A gentle answer turns away wrath. I don't know either of your pasts, but the bible does say a lot about cooperation and getting along with each other.

@InkawgNeetoh Lyman goes around the eastern part of the U.S. making a mockery of the Gospel of Christ. He claims that he is the "cruel messenger" of Proverbs 17:11 and therefore doesn't have to preach the Gospel but can instead call people names. I have preached with him in the past and I have seen and heard him say cruel things to people.

In Rochester one year he turned to a woman walking down the sidewalk, and thinking she was a lesbian said, "You're so ugly no man would ever want you!"

@JimDeferio There's a book I read, once, and it was by a person that used the Bible and scientific evidence to identify different "god-given gifts" that were strengthened when you became a follower of Christ. However, it said that using a gift without faith corrupts it and people with a corrupted "perception" gift become accusatory and judgmental. I believe James has his gift, but has used it poorly and that it has become corrupted, blinding him. But he is still a child of God. :)
