Hi Allen, Would be great if you had this on paper. I'd be grateful if you'd have a look. My e-mail address is dsbe10 AT verizon.net (of course replace the "AT" with the at symbol). Thanks again, Bill.
Thank you for your kind words. I think I may have written this down a couple of years ago. Shoot me a note with your email address and I will have a look.
I found you while learning to sing this song, very beautiful, kept my mouth shut to listen well, will continue to listen to more, starting with embraceable you
@carvetop01 That´s true, but the anonymous person could try to explain his "opinion", maybe from a high standard...or maybe it´s just something else....giving thumbs up/down is antique Roman behaviour....
I must admit....I don´t know the tune,;-)) Best part (or - most popular part): The A-major followed by the A4, with melody G#A...G#A (2:41)...Great. This musical idea would be a great starting point for something new....a new tune.............this chromatic in the melody, together with the third and quart....mmmmmmm, inspiring...
Second visit: This is so cool, really good playing here Allen, the thing about quality Music ,it always makes me return, this arrangement has quite a lot of surprises, moving counter-melodies,great voicings, harmonics, very nice indeed, might come back a third time, 10* Vic.
You are welcome to come back anytime! I love this tune. Whenever I hear it I have difficulty getting it out of my head. I heard this tune once with a trombone playing the melody. Whoever was playing the trombone made me feel like the song was written just for him. You make that happen on several of your performances. (Just check the contents of my favorites). That my friend is art.
Thank you for your encouraging and kind words. I keep on trying to get "it" right.
Yes alan very fine playing indeed and a wonderful tune, that relaxed atmosphere making "time" part of the Music is something that all good players poses,so important, knowing when not to play, very good ,Victor.
Nice to see you got a camera. It shows just how good your flatpicking is. I like the way your pinky is anchored at all times to give a base for your picking. Your "lack of fingerstyle skill" is not a disadvantage when you can flatpick so beautifully.
p.s. have you tried any hybrid picking instead of fingerstyle?
I have tried hybrid picking. I use it when I play any of Tommy Emmanuel's arrangements. "The Hunt" "The Robin" and a few others don't work well with flat picking. The runs in "The Robin" are not that difficult. There are a few places in that tune that require some sort of picking other than flat.
Hi Allen, beautiful playing as always! You sure do a good job of adapting fingerstyle to flat-pick style (What kind of pick are you using?). It's nice to see that beautiful guitar and the musician playing it. Great way to start off the year! Steve.
Yes Al my friend, I just discover you new video now...
I listened this in the silent night here in france and it was a pure moment of sensitive music a beautiful moment...

It's a rather long arrangement hence the modulation at 3:57 to keep from getting too repetative.
